Abstract
Honeys of particular botanical origins can be associated with premium market prices, a trait which also makes them susceptible to fraud. Currently available authenticity testing methods for botanical classification of honeys are either time-consuming or only target a few "known" types of markers. Simple and effective methods are therefore needed to monitor and guarantee the authenticity of honey. In this study, a 'dilute-and-shoot' approach using liquid chromatography (LC) coupled to quadrupole time-of-flight-mass spectrometry (QTOF-MS) was applied to the non-targeted fingerprinting of honeys of different floral origin (buckwheat, clover and blueberry). This work investigated for the first time the impact of different instrumental conditions such as the column type, the mobile phase composition, the chromatographic gradient, and the MS fragmentor voltage (in-source collision-induced dissociation) on the botanical classification of honeys as well as the data quality. Results indicated that the data sets obtained for the various LC-QTOF-MS conditions tested were all suitable to discriminate the three honeys of different floral origin regardless of the mathematical model applied (random forest, partial least squares-discriminant analysis, soft independent modelling by class analogy and linear discriminant analysis). The present study investigated different LC-QTOF-MS conditions in a "dilute and shoot" method for honey analysis, in order to establish a relatively fast, simple and reliable analytical method to record the chemical fingerprints of honey. This approach is suitable for marker discovery and will be used for the future development of advanced predictive models for honey botanical origin.

Abstract
A high-throughput screening and quantification method for 479 pesticides in green tea was established based on solid-phase extraction combined with liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC-QTOF-MS). Pesticides were extracted from samples using an optimized SPE (TPT cartridges) procedure. LC-QTOF-MS in All Ions MS/MS scan mode acquired full MS data for quantification and product ion spectra for identification. LC-QTOF-MS quantification was achieved using matrix-matched standard calibration curves to achieve the optimal method accuracy. The method performance characteristics included the linearity, overall recovery, precision, and measurement uncertainty being evaluated. The validation results exhibited a good sensitivity with the LOQs of 5-55 µg/kg, which was satisfactory for their MRLs in China or the EU. The recoveries of more than 92.7% of the 479 pesticides in green tea were 70-120% at the three spiked levels with a precision of ≤20%. Finally, this method was employed to analyze 479 pesticides in 95 tea samples from markets in China. The test results of the tea samples showed that tolfenpyrad, buprofezin, and pyridaben were found with lower concentrations. The method has effectively improved the determination efficiency of pesticide residue screening by high-resolution mass spectrometry in green tea.

Abstract
Flame retardants (FRs) are often added to commercial products to achieve flammability resistance, but they are not chemically bonded to the materials, so, they can be easily released into the environment during the production and disposal processes. When honeybees travel to collect nectar during the pollination process, they are prone to be contaminated by chemicals in the air. Therefore, honey contamination has been proposed as an indicator of the pollution status in a particular region. To date, the occurrence of flame retardants in urban honey has yet to be explored. In this study, a direct injection method was used, coupled with LC-QTOF-MS, to analyze honey samples. This method was applied to urban (n = 100) and rural (n = 100) honey samples from the Quebec province (Canada), and the levels of flame retardants in urban and rural honey samples were not significantly different. In the targeted approach, two of the target FRs, tris(2-butoxyethyl) phosphate (TBOEP) and triphenyl phosphate (TPHP), were detected and confirmed at an average trace concentration (<1 ng mL-1). Additionally, a non-targeted screening workflow with an in-house-built library was developed and validated to screen for flame retardants in honey. Tris (2-chloropropyl) phosphate (TCIPP) was identified in honey using the non-targeted screening workflow and confirmed using a pure analytical standard, but there are other compounds detected in the non-targeted analysis that have yet to be validated. This study was the first to report FR compounds based on a direct injection method, coupled with a non-targeted screening workflow, at a trace level in a honey matrix. It also showed that a non-targeted workflow was effective to detect and identify unknown compounds present in the honey sample; hence, this provided a novel angle for the occurrence of FRs in air, with honey as a bio-indicator.

Abstract
Receptor chromatography involves high-throughput separation and accurate drug screening based on specific drug-receptor recognition and affinity, which has been widely used to screen active compounds in complex samples. This review summarizes the immobilization methods for receptors from three aspects: random covalent immobilization methods, site-specific covalent immobilization methods and dual-target receptor chromatography. Meanwhile, it focuses on its applications from three angles: screening active compounds in natural products, in natural-product-derived DNA-encoded compound libraries and drug-receptor interactions. This review provides new insights for the design and application of receptor chromatography, high-throughput and accurate drug screening, drug-receptor interactions and more. Teaser: This review summarizes the immobilization methods of receptors and the application of receptor chromatography, which will provide new insights for the design and application of receptor chromatography, rapid drug screening, drug-receptor interactions and more.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Oxytetracycline (OTC) is an antibiotic authorized for use in aquaculture; it is often detected in seafood products, especially shrimp. Previous studies investigating the fate of OTC in shrimp tissues after cooking were limited to quantification of parent compound residues and did not describe any potential transformation products formed. Hence, the main objective of this study was to apply a nontarget analysis workflow to study the fate of OTC in shrimp muscle. Furthermore, "water" and "spiked" models were evaluated for their suitability to track the transformation of OTC in incurred muscle and to determine whether the matrix plays a role in the transformation pathway. First, four different extraction methods were compared for the determination of OTC in muscle. Second, raw and cooked samples were then extracted using a suitable method (acidified water-methanol-acetonitrile, with cleanup of samples achieved using freezing) and were analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry. OTC levels were reduced by 75 and 87% in muscle and water, respectively. Identification of thermal transformation products was limited to formula generation, but results showed that different compounds were identified in spiked and incurred muscle. HIGHLIGHTS

Abstract
With the increasing use of antibiotics worldwide, antibiotic monitoring has become a topic of concern. After metabolizing of antibiotics in animals, the metabolites enter the environment through excreta or ingested by the human body via food chain that may exacerbate the emergence of antibiotic resistance and then threaten human's life. This article summarized several analytical methods used for the determination of antibiotics in recent 10 years. Due to the complex matrices and low concentration level of antibiotics in the food samples, a reliable analysis method is required to maximize the recovery rate. Several techniques like solid phase extraction (SPE), dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) and QuEChERS have been frequently used in the pretreatment process for analytes extraction and concentration. After the pretreatment, ultra-high performance liquid chromatography combined with mass spectrometry has been a reliable method for quantitative analysis and is able to determine multiple antibiotics simultaneously. This review also gives an overview about analytical conditions for antibiotics residues in different food samples and their method validation parameters.

Abstract
Increased use of environmentally friendly practices has become a trend in science because of the current awareness regarding climate change and related issues. Similarly for analytical chemistry, considering the development of greener methods for reducing the use of reagents and samples and also toxic waste generation. To meet such goals, automation, and miniaturisation of sample preparation-a well-recognised laborious and time-consuming analytical step-are two promising strategies. This work associates the greener aspects of miniaturisation and the performance of automated sample preparation. Therefore, we proposed an analytical method using a miniaturised extraction column for pre-concentrating sulphamerazine, sulphamethazine, sulphamethoxazole, sulphadimethoxine, sulphathiazole, and sulphachlorpyridazine from honey and cleaning-up the samples. Several variables were optimised: extractive phase, loading flow, loading phase, and loading time. Under optimised conditions, the method showed adequate linearity between 5.0 and 60 ng g-1 with R > 0.99, and also good selectivity and recovery (114.6-124.1%) which are acceptable according to Brazilian legislation. Intra and inter-day precision were in the range 3.0-5.0%. Although sulphonamides were detected in one of the eight commercial honey samples, the value was below the established MRL. The method showed efficiency, while also exhibiting greener characteristics resulting from miniaturisation and automation, representing a promising environmentally friendly alternative for conventional sample preparation methods.

Abstract
The veterinary drugs are broad-spectrum antibacterial antibiotics; it uses to cure the animal disease. Many countries have banned veterinary drug residues like nitrofurans metabolites, chloramphenicol. However, the people were administrated veterinary drugs to animals as illegal to increase the milk production in animals for economic benefit. The results of illegally use of veterinary drugs remain as a residue in animal product like milk and it is very harmful to whom consume it cause cancer and allergic for human being which has entered the concern among milk consumers. To control illegal use of veterinary drugs, the government of India has restricted its use in animals. For the identification and confirmation of veterinary drug residues in animal products, analytical techniques such as liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry are available. These are very sophisticated equipments which are available nowadays and their methodologies for the analytical method validation are described by European commission 2002/657/EC. The use of veterinary drugs is a big challenge to effectively identify and authorization of their use. There are so many analytical techniques are using very effectively and taking very less time to protect the consumers from their adverse effects. These techniques take very less time to identify more groups of compounds such as tetracycline, sulfonamides, anthelmintic, and macrolides in single multi-residue method. These methods having validation parameters include system precision, calibration curve, accuracy, limit of detection, and quantification. Therefore, improvement in the existing technologies and accessibility of new screening methodologies will give opportunities for automation that helps in obtaining the results in very less time and improved sensitivity and specificity which contribute to better safety assurance, standard, and quality of various food products of animal origin.

Abstract
In this study, an analytical method based on isotope dilution-liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (ID-LC-MS/MS) was developed as a candidate reference method for the determination of sulfonamides (SAs) in honey. To guarantee the accuracy and authenticity, the impact of hydrolysis on bound SA residues was first investigated by enabling (i) identification of sugar-bound SAs, (ii) clarifying the binding reaction rule between the SAs and sugar, (iii) detection of free SAs and sugar-bound SAs, and (iv) preparation of SA-contaminated honey. Thus, the efficiency of different hydrolysis conditions was assessed by comparing the bound SA content before and after hydrolysis. In addition, optimization of the sample pretreatment procedures and LC conditions to minimize matrix effects by separation from significant matrix interferences was also performed. Satisfactory results in terms of hydrolysis efficiency (approximately 88.3%-99.2%), extraction efficiency (84.2%-105.3%), recovery (95.9%-103.1%), and limit of quantification (0.6-1.5 μg·kg-1) were obtained.

Abstract
Citrus honey is one of the most important monofloral honeys produced and consumed worldwide. This honey has pleasant sensorial characteristics, which include light color and typical aroma and flavor. Besides that, several constituents such as minerals, phenolic and volatile compounds, amino acids, sugars, enzymes, vitamins, methylglyoxal and organic acids are found in citrus honey. Moreover, potential biological properties have been associated with citrus honey. All these factors make it highly desired by consumers, increasing its market value, which can stimulates the practice of fraud. Also, citrus honey is susceptible to contamination and to inadequate processing. All these factors can compromise the quality, safety and authenticity of citrus honey. In this sense, this review aims to update and to discuss, for the first time, the data available in the literature about the physicochemical and the sensorial characteristics, composition, health properties, contamination, authenticity and adulteration of citrus honey. With this background, we aim to provide data that can guide future researches related to this honey.

Abstract
Honey contaminations could derive from intensive agriculture and industrial activities, but also from beekeeper treatments. In EU no MRLs for antibiotics in honey are set, only a minimum required performance limit for chloramphenicol of 0.3 μg kg-1 is recommended. Screening tests are available, characterised by their rapidity and simple use. Due to their high rate of false positives and the need to meet zero tolerance levels for antibiotics, their presence in samples was investigated using a liquid chromatography High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (LC-HRMS) multiclass antibiotic residue method, comparing the results with those of previous screening tests. The confirmatory method showed good sensitivity: CCα and CCβ ranging from 0.03 to 4.80 ng g-1 and from 0.12 to 5.56 ng g-1, respectively. Ninety-eight honey samples from different geographical areas, analysed by two screening tests, showed a high percentage of false positives. This is fundamental to guarantee honey safety, especially, for organic production.

Abstract
A wide-scope analytical method was developed and validated for the determination of tropane alkaloids (TAs) in honey samples. A simple and fast extraction procedure, using a mixture of methanol/water/formic acid (75/25/0.4, v/v/v) as extraction solvent, followed by a clean-up with graphitized black carbon (GBC) and magnesium sulphate was optimized, and compounds were analysed by liquid chromatography coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS-Orbitrap). Validation of the proposed method provided adequate linearity (R2 > 0.99), trueness (recoveries 71-120%) and precision (relative standard deviation, RSD ≤ 20.1%), with limits of quantitation (LOQs) at 20 µg/kg (except anisodamine and scopolamine at 40 µg/kg) and a significant matrix effect (≤-50%). Nineteen honey samples were analysed, but only one was positive, containing 27 µg/kg of scopolamine. Additionally, a post-targeted screening was performed, and 47% of samples were contaminated with different herbicides, insecticides and veterinary drugs. Therefore, the proposed analytical method is a powerful tool for both targeted TAs and post-targeted contaminant analyses.

Abstract
Tylosin A is a macrolide antibiotic used in beekeeping. The aim of the study was to characterise the behaviour of tylosin A in honey after heating and during storage, and to identify its degradation products using a non-targeted approach. In addition, the possibility of a semi-quantification of tylosin B using tylosin A was assessed as a case study for the semi-quantification of degradation products using the parent compounds. The results showed significant degradation of tylosin A in aqueous solution (~96%) as well as in spiked and incurred honey dissolved in water (~50% and ~29%, respectively) after heating at 100°C for 90 min. However, at a lower heating temperature of 70°C, degradation was only observed in water (~31%). When stored at room temperature (27°C) for one year, tylosin A degraded significantly (~47%) in an incurred honey sample. Tylosin B, the only reported degradation product of tylosin A in honey so far, increased significantly in aqueous solution under all treatments, but it only increased in spiked water-honey mixture after heating at 100°C. Two new degradation products, namely 5-O-mycaminosyltylonolide (OMT) and lactenocin, were tentatively identified in water and spiked honey after heating at 100°C. The results of the present study reinforce the conclusion that relying only on the water model or spiked food matrix is not sufficient to understand the thermal degradation of antibiotics in food matrices. Finally, a semi-quantification of tylosin B with a relative error of 20% in an incurred honey sample was possible using the response factor of tylosin A, its parent compound. The results of this study prove that a semi-quantification using the parent compound to quantify its degradation compound can provide satisfactory results, but this will be analyte-dependent.

Abstract
Non-targeted screening (e.g., suspected-target) is emerging as an attractive tool to investigate the occurrence of contaminants in food. The sample preparation and instrument analysis steps are known to influence the identification of analytes with non-targeted workflows, especially for complex matrices. However, for methods based on mass spectrometry, the impact of the post-analysis data treatment (e.g., feature extraction) on the capacity to correctly identify a contaminant at trace level is currently not well understood. The aim of the study was to investigate the influence of seven post-analysis data treatment parameters on the non-targeted identification of trace contaminants in honey using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to hybrid quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (HPLC-QTOF-MS). Seven compounds reported as veterinary drugs for honeybees were applied as model compounds. Among the parameters studied, the expansion window for chromatogram extraction and the average scans included in the spectra influenced significantly the identification process results. The optimized data treatment was applied to the non-targeted screening of veterinary drugs, pesticides, and other contaminants in 55 honey samples as a proof of concept. Among the 43 compounds included in a library of honey-related compounds that was used for screening, eight compounds were tentatively identified in at least one honey sample. The tentative identity of two of these compounds (tylosin A and hydroxymethylfurfural) was further confirmed with analytical standards. Graphical Abstract.
