Abstract
Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) is a member of the Umbelliferae/Apiaceae family and one of the well-known essential oil-containing plants, in which the seeds are used in traditional medicine, and as flavoring in food preparation. Knowing the diverse chemical components of different parts of the plant, this work aims to investigate the antioxidant, the anti-inflammatory, and the immunostimulatory modulator effects of the Jordanian C. sativum's seed extracted essential oil (JCEO). Coriander oil extract was prepared by hydro-distillation method using the Clevenger apparatus. Different concentrations of coriander oil were examined by using DPPH radical scavenging assay, MTT assay, pro-inflammatory cytokine (Tumor Necrosis Factor-TNF-alpha) production in RAW264.7 murine macrophages in addition, scratch-wound assessment, NO level examination, Th1/Th2 assay, phagocytosis assay, and fluorescence imaging using DAPI stain were conducted. JCEO had a potential metabolic enhancer effect at a concentration of 0.3 mg/mL on cell viability with anti-inflammatory activities via increasing cytokines like IL-10, IL-4, and limiting NO, INF-γ, and TNF-α release into cell supernatant. Antioxidant activity was seen significantly at higher concentrations of JCEO reaching 98.7% when using 100mg/mL and minimally reaching 50% at 12.5mg/mL of the essential oil. Treated macrophages were able to attain full scratch closure after 48-hrs at concentrations below 0.3mg/mL. The seed-extracted JCEO showed significant free radical scavenging activity even at lower dilutions. It also significantly induced an anti-inflammatory effect via an increase in the release of cytokines but reduced the LPS-induced NO and TNF-α production at 0.16-0.3mg/mL. In summary, coriander essential oil demonstrated antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immunostimulatory effects, showcasing its therapeutic potential at specific concentrations. The findings underscore its safety and metabolic enhancement properties, emphasizing its promising role in promoting cellular health.

Abstract
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE Rhodiola crenulata (Rc) is a traditional herb, used in Tibetan medicine, has shown promise efficacy in physical performance improvement, work capacity enhancement, fatigue elimination, and altitude sickness prevention. Also, Rc exhibited therapeutic effects on aging-related diseases. However, relevant researches on Rc and their bioactive components are quite few and needs further investigation. AIM OF THE STUDY The objective of this study was to understand the relationship between phytochemical profiles and their activities of Rc extracts. MATERIALS AND METHODS Rc extracts prepared by solvents with various hydrophilicity (i.e. aqueous ethanol (70%, v/v), water, and ethyl acetate), and their chemical compositions and specific compounds were analyzed by chemical analysis method and ultra-performance liquid chromatography quadruple time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-QTOF-MS). The regulate effects of Rc extracts on senescence and antioxidant activity were evaluated using the models of LO2 cells and Caenorhabditis elegans. RESULTS The 70% ethanol extracts exhibited better regulating effects on senescence via the assays of senescence -associated β-galactosidase (SAβG) staining and lifespan, which was consistent with the higher antioxidant activities observed based on the results of antioxidant assays. A total of 14 phytochemicals have been identified in 70% ethanol extracts, whereas the other two extracts contained much fewer compounds in varieties. Phytochemical profile of water extract was similar to the first half (polar compounds, running time: 0-6 min) of 70% ethanol extract profile, while those of ethyl acetate extract was consistent with its second half (more nonpolar compounds, running time: 6-12 min). CONCLUSIONS The 14 phytochemicals in Rc might exhibit additive or synergistic effects on senescence regulating and antioxidant activities, providing theoretical basis for daily administration of Rc.

Abstract
To fully explore the influence mechanism of interactions between different monomer units of proanthocyanidins (PAs) on biological activity, a path analysis model of the PA structure-activity relationship was proposed. This model subdivides the total correlation between each monomer unit and activity into direct and indirect effects by taking into account not only each monomer unit but also the correlation with its related monomer units. In addition, this method can determine the action mode of each monomer unit affecting the activity by comparing the direct and total indirect effects. Finally, the advantage of this model is demonstrated through an influence mechanism analysis of Rhodiola crenulata PA monomer units on antioxidant and anti-diabetes activities.

Abstract
This paper focused on the mechanism of Ser-Ala-Gly-Pro-Ala-Phe (SAGPAF) treatment to improve gastric mucosal injury in mice. A gastric mucosa injury model induced by ethanol was established, and the superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, malondialdehyde (MDA) content, nitric oxide (NO) content and myeloperoxidase (MPO) level were determined. We performed macroscopic and histopathological evaluation of the gastric organs. Moreover, we analyzed the mechanism of SAGPAF treatment by western blotting. Compared with the model group, the SOD activity and NO content in the medium-dose and high-dose SAGPAF groups of treated with 10 kV cm-1 field intensity were significantly increased. The MDA content and MPO level were decreased significantly. They significantly reduced the gastric mucosal injury induced by ethanol (21.17 ± 3.51% and 13.99 ± 2.00%) and the histopathological scores (3.83 ± 0.40 and 4.33 ± 0.37) (P < 0.05). Western blotting analysis showed that SAGPAF after pulsed electric field (PEF) treatment improved gastric injury by reducing protein phosphorylation. These findings provided strong evidence that PEF-treated SAGPAF enhanced the gastric mucosal barrier function by inhibiting the activation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB) signaling pathways, reducing the ethanol-induced inflammatory response and oxidative stress.

Fertilizer type and humic acid improve the growth responses, nutrient uptake, and essential oil content on Coriandrum sativum L. Sci Rep 2022; 12:7437. Abstract
In recent decades, the over-use of chemical fertilizers has imposed many environmental challenges worldwide. Nowadays, organic fertilizers such as vermicompost and livestock manure have gained a huge interest in sustainable agricultural systems. A 2-year field research was conducted as factorial based on a randomized complete block design to assay the fertilizer and humic acid (HA) efficiency on the growth responses and essential oil composition of Coriandrum sativum. The treatments were different fertilizer sources (livestock manure, vermicompost, and chemical fertilizers) and humic acid fertigation before and at the beginning of the flowering stage. The highest protein content was observed under vermicompost × HA application before flowering (0.118 μmol L-1 and 0.128 μmol L-1, respectively). Moreover, the co-application of organic fertilizers × HA at the beginning of flowering resulted in a significant increase in the photosynthetic pigments and N, P, K, Fe, Zn, and Mn content. According to the GC-FID and GC-MS analysis, linalool (55.91-63.19%), γ-terpinene (4.65-6.13%), α-pinene (2.64-5.74%), geranyl acetate (3.49-5.51%), 2-dodecanal (2.92-4.46%), menthol (1.33-3.90%), p-cymene (1.73-2.24%), and geraniol (1.25-2.15%) were the main essential oil constituents. The top linalool content was obtained by using chemical fertilizers and vermicompost × HA at the flowering onset stage. In general, the results revealed that chemical fertilizers could be replaced with vermicompost × HA and their co-application positively influenced the growth responses and the essential oil composition of coriander. Furthermore, the results obtained would be advisable to the extension section and the pioneer farmers to amend the large-scale production systems in favor of environmental health.

Abstract
Rhodiola crenulata (HK. f. et. Thoms) H. Ohba (RC), mainly distributed in the highly cold region of China, has long been used as a medicine/healthy food for eliminating fatigue and increasing blood circulation. This study aimed to evaluate the inhibitory effects of the RCRS extract on α-amylase and α-glucosidase (sucrase and maltase) in vitro and in vivo, and tentatively analyze and identify its chemical ingredients using UPLC-Triple-TOF/MS. The Rhodiola crenulata RCRS extract had strong inhibitory activities against α-amylase, sucrase and maltase with an IC50 of 0.031 mg mL-1, 0.142 mg mL-1 and 0.214 mg mL-1, respectively. Furthermore, the RCRS extract could significantly decrease the postprandial blood glucose (PBG) level of normal mice in a starch tolerance test, and reduce the PBG levels of diabetic mice in a starch/maltose/sucrose tolerance test. UHPLC-Triple-TOF-MS/MS analysis indicated that hydroxybenzoic acids, hydroxycinnamic acids, alcohol glycosides, flavonols and their derivatives were the main active ingredients in the RCRS extract. The results demonstrate that the RCRS extract of Rhodiola crenulata could be employed as a healthy food or medicine for controlling postprandial blood glucose levels.

Abstract
Some medicinal plants have been known as immunostimulants, and the medicinal plants extract has been used to control the outbreak of the disease in aquaculture for many years. In this study, a total of 270 crucian carp (30 ± 5 g) were randomly distributed in 9 aquaria (55 cm l × 40 cm w × 50 cm h) and divided into three feeding groups including 0 (Control), 50 mg kg-1 (Diet A) and 100 mg kg-1 (Diet B) of salidroside. The expression of immune-related genes (IL-1β, TNFα, MYD88, CXCL-8, TGF-β, and IL-11) in the kidney had a significant increase when the crucian carp fed with Diet B for 4 weeks (P < 0.05). Meanwhile, the expression of IL-1β, TNFα, and CXCL-8 in the spleen was significantly up-regulated when the fish fed with Diet B (P < 0.05). Higher serum alkaline phosphatase (AKP) activity, catalase (CAT) activity, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, and complement C3 content were found in the fish which fed with salidroside-supplemented diet. Our results also proved that fish fed with salidroside-supplemented diet for four weeks, especially at a concentration of 100 mg kg-1 diet, improved the protection of crucian carp against A. hydrophila. The amount of A. hydrophila in the kidney and spleen was significantly decreased in salidroside-supplemented diet groups (P < 0.05). In conclusion, the present results demonstrate that the addition of salidroside for four weeks can improve the immune response of crucian carp and increase the protection against the pathogen, especially at the concentration of 100 mg kg-1 diet. The protective effect of the salidroside to the crucian carp could be used as alternatives to antibiotics for controlling fish diseases in aquaculture.
