A one-pot approach
to fluorinated hydroxamic acid, amide, and thioamide
derivatives is reported. The reaction proceeds via an N-perfluoroalkylation
of nitrosoarenes with perfluoroalkanesulfinates, resulting in labile
N-perfluoroalkylated hydroxylamines. By the addition of suitable additives,
a controllable oxy/thiodefluorination of the fluorinated hydroxylamine
intermediates was achieved. The method highlights N-perfluoroalkylated
amines as versatile intermediates for further synthesis.

Abstract
Fluorinated heterocycles are important building blocks in pharmaceutical, agrochemical and material sciences. Therefore, organofluorine chemistry has witnessed high interest in the development of efficient methods for the introduction of emergent fluorinated substituents (EFS) onto heterocycles. In this context, fluoroalkyl amino reagents (FARs)—a class of chemicals that was slightly forgotten over the last decades—has emerged again recently and proved to be a powerful tool for the introduction of various fluorinated groups onto (hetero)aromatic derivatives.

Abstract
In a new coumarin derivative obtained from the reaction of 3-acetyl-4-hydroxy-2H-chromen-2-one with bromine in acetic acid, the hydroxy group in involved in an intramolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, π–π interactions between the rings of the bicycle pack molecules into stacks along the b axis. The title compound, C11H6Br2O4, is a new coumarin derivative obtained from the reaction of 3-acetyl-4-hydroxy-2H-chromen-2-one with bromine in acetic acid. The hydroxyl group in involved in an intramolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, π–π interactions between the rings of the bicycle [intercentroid distances = 3.498 (2) and 3.539 (2) Å] pack molecules into stacks along the b axis, and weak intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds further link these stacks into layers parallel to the ab plane.
