Abstract
With the continuous advancement of global industrialization, a large amount of organic and inorganic pollutants have been discharged into the environment, which is essential for human survival. Consequently, the issue of water environment pollution has become increasingly severe. Photocatalytic technology is widely used to degrade water pollutants due to its strong oxidizing performance and non-polluting characteristics, and BiVO4-based photocatalysts are one of the ideal raw materials for photocatalytic reactions. However, a comprehensive global analysis of the factors influencing the photocatalytic performance of BiVO4-based photocatalysts is currently lacking. Here, we performed a meta-analysis to investigate the differences in specific surface area, kinetic constants, and the pollutant degradation performance of BiVO4-based photocatalysts under different preparation and degradation conditions. It was found that under the loading condition, all the performances of the photocatalysts can be attributed to the single BiVO4 photocatalyst. Moreover, loading could lead to an increase in the specific surface area of the material, thereby providing more adsorption sites for photocatalysis and ultimately enhancing the photocatalytic performance. Overall, the construct heterojunction and loaded nanomaterials exhibit a superior performance for BiVO4-based photocatalysts with 136.4% and 90.1% improvement, respectively. Additionally, within a certain range, the photocatalytic performance increases with the reaction time and temperature.

Impact of Erbium (Er) and Yttrium (Y) doping on BiVO 4 crystal structure towards the enhancement of photoelectrochemical water splitting and photocatalytic performance. CHEMOSPHERE 2022; 299:134343. Abstract
An efficient BiVO4nanocatalyst with Erbium (Er) and Yttrium (Y) doping was synthesized via a facile microwave irradiation route and the obtained materials were further characterized through various techniques such as p-XRD, FT-IR, FE-SEM, HR-TEM, UV-Vis DRS, PL, LSV, and EISanalysis. The obtained results revealed that the rare metals induce the stabilization of the monoclinic-tetragonal crystalline structure with a distinct morphology. The yttrium doped BiVO4 (Y-BiVO4) monoclinic-tetragonal exhibited anefficient photoelectrochemical water splitting and photocatalytic performanceare compared to bare BiVO4. TheY-BiVO4 indicated increased results of photocurrent of 0.43 mA/cm2and bare BiVO40.24 mA/cm2. Also, the Y-doped BiVO4 nanocatalyst showed the maximum photocatalytic activity for the degradation of MB, MO, and RhB. A maximum degradation of 93%, 85%, and 91% was achieved for MB, MO, and RhB respectively, within 180 min under the visible light illumination. The photocatalytic decomposition of acetaldehyde also was performed. The improved photoelectrochemical water splitting and photocatalytic activity are due to the narrowing the bandgap, leading to extending the photoabsorption capability and reducing the recombination rate of photoexcited electron-hole pairs through the formation inner energy state of the rare earth metals. The current study disclosed that the synthesis of nanomaterials with crystal modification could be a prospectivecontender forhydrogen energy production as well as to the photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants. To the best of our knowledge, both photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical studies were never been reported before for this type of material.

Abstract
This work reported the preparation of Mg-MOF, Fe-MOF and Fe–Mg MOF by a solvothermal technique and their characterization with FT-IR, XRD, SEM, EDS, TEM and SBET analyses. The nanoparticle diameter ranged from 3.1 to 10.9 nm. The acidity of the MOFs was measured by nonaqueous potentiometric titration of n-butylamine. It was observed that the formation of a bimetallic MOF sharply increases the surface acidity and the catalytic activity. The catalytic results of the Fe–Mg MOF catalyzing the synthesis of 14-aryl-14-H-dibenzo[a,j]xanthenes in comparison with those of parent MOFs showed a higher yield of the desired product in a lower time and among various Fe : Mg, the (0.6 : 1) Fe–Mg MOF showed the highest catalytic activity and acidity. Even after the 4th run, the Fe–Mg MOF catalyst still maintained nearly the initial catalytic activity. The adsorption performance of Mg-MOF, Fe-MOF and Fe–Mg MOF was evaluated by batch experiments. The effect of contact time, the solution pH, the adsorbent dose and the initial concentration of the heavy metal ions was discussed. It was found that the capacity of the bimetallic Fe–Mg MOF for Pb(ii), Cu(ii) and Cd(ii) adsorption was higher than that of the Mg-MOF and Fe-MOF, the kinetic data followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the isothermal data obeyed the Langmuir isotherm model. The mechanism of the removal of the heavy metal ions was discussed. This work reported the preparation of Mg-MOF, Fe-MOF and Fe–Mg MOF by a solvothermal technique and their characterization with FT-IR, XRD, SEM, EDS, TEM and SBET analyses.![]()
