Abstract
In this paper, a novel magnetic hyper-crosslinked polymer with amino and triazine bifunctional groups (M-NH2-THCP) was developed. M-NH2-THCP has strong nitroimidazoles (NDZs) enrichment effect, and therefore it was used as an adsorbent to extract five NDZs from lake water, catfish and shrimp meat prior to HPLC. Polar interaction, π-π stacking interaction, hydrogen bond and Lewis acid-base interaction were attested to be the major adsorption mechanism. The method has a good linearity in the range of 0.1-100 ng mL-1 for lake water, 10-400 ng g-1 for catfish and shrimp muscle with R2 > 0.9964. The limits of detection of NDZs were 0.03-0.04 ng mL-1 for lake water, 1.0-2.0 ng g-1 for catfish and 2.0-2.5 ng g-1 for shrimp, which is superior to most reported method. The method recoveries were 87.6-119 %, and relative standard deviations were less than 8.7 %. M-NH2-THCP holds great application potential in pollutants enrichment, separation and removal.

High-sensitive determination of tetracycline antibiotics adsorbed on microplastics in mariculture water using pre-COF/monolith composite-based in-tube solid phase microextraction on-line coupled to HPLC-MS/MS. Abstract
Microplastics (MPs) act as carriers for organic pollutants (e.g. antibiotics) and microorganisms (e.g. bacteria) in waters, leading to the proliferation of antibiotic resistance genes. Moreover, the antibiotics adsorbed on MPs may exacerbate this process. For further research, it is necessary to understand the types and amounts of antibiotics adsorbed on MPs. However, due to the heavy work of MPs collection and sample pretreatment, there is a lack of analytical methods and relevant data. In this study, an in-tube solid phase microextraction (IT-SPME) on-line coupled to HPLC-MS/MS method based on amorphous precursor polymer of three-dimensional covalent organic frameworks/monolith-based composite adsorbent was developed, which could efficiently capture, enrich and analyze tetracycline (TCs) antibiotics. Under the optimal extraction parameters, the developed method was capable of detecting TCs at levels as low as 0.48-1.76 pg. This method was applied to analyze the TCs adsorbed on MPs of different particle sizes in mariculture water for the first time, requiring a minimum amount of MPs of only 1 mg. Furthermore, it was observed that there could be an antagonistic relationship between algal biofilm and TCs loaded on MPs. This approach could open up new possibilities for analyzing pollutants on MPs and support deeper research on MPs.

Abstract
Speciation analysis is a relevant topic since the (eco)toxicity, bioavailability, bio (geo)chemical cycles, and mobility of a given element depend on its chemical forms (oxidation state, organic ligands, etc.). The reliability of analytical results for chemical species of elements depends mostly on the maintaining of their stability during the sample pretreatment step and on the selectivity of further separation step. Solid-phase extraction (SPE) is a matter of choice as the most suitable and widely used procedure for both enrichment of chemical species of elements and their separation. The features of sorbent material are of great importance to ensure extraction efficiency from one side and selectivity from the other side of the SPE procedure. This review presents an update on the application of polymeric materials in solid-phase extraction used in nonchromatographic methods for speciation analysis.

Abstract
Mercury is considered to be one of the most toxic elements to humans. Due to pollution from industry and artisanal gold mining, mercury species are present globally in waters used for agriculture, aquaculture, and drinking water. This review summarises methods reported for preserving mercury species in water samples and highlights the associated hazards and issues with each. This includes the handling of acids in an uncontrolled environment, breakage of sample containers, and the collection and transport of sample volumes in excess of 1 L, all of which pose difficulties for both in situ collection and transportation. Literature related to aqueous mercury preservation from 2000-2021 was reviewed, as well as any commonly cited and relevant references. Amongst others, solid-phase extraction techniques were explored for preservation and preconcentration of total and speciated mercury in water samples. Additionally, the potential as a safe, in situ preservation and storage method for mercury species were summarised. The review highlighted that the stability of mercury is increased when adsorbed on a solid-phase and therefore the metal and its species can be preserved without the need for hazardous reagents or materials in the field. The mercury species can then be eluted upon return to a laboratory, where sensitive analytical detection and speciation methods can be better applied. Developments in solid phase extraction as a preservation method for unstable metals such as mercury will improve the quality of representative environmental data, and further improve toxicology and environmental monitoring studies.

In-Tube Solid-Phase Microextraction Directly Coupled to Mass Spectrometric Systems: A Review. SEPARATIONS 2022. Abstract
Since it was introduced in 1997, in-tube solid-phase microextraction (in-tube SPME), which uses a capillary column as extraction device, has been continuously developed as online microextraction coupled to LC systems (in-tube SPME-LC). In the last decade, new couplings have been evaluated on the basis of state-of-the-art LC instruments, including direct coupling of in-tube SPME to MS/MS systems, without chromatographic separation, for high-throughput analysis. In-tube SPME coupling to MS/MS has been possible thanks to the selectivity of capillary column coatings and MS/MS systems (SRM mode). Different types of capillary columns (wall-coated open-tubular, porous-layer open-tubular, sorbent-packed, porous monolithic rods, or fiber-packed) with selective stationary phases have been developed to increase the sorption capacity and selectivity of in-tube SPME. This review focuses on the in-tube SPME principle, extraction configurations, current advances in direct coupling to MS/MS systems, experimental parameters, coatings, and applications in different areas (food, biological, clinical, and environmental areas) over the last years.

Abstract
The growing need to monitor Hg levels in the environment to control its emissions and evaluate the effectiveness of reduction policies is driving the scientific community to focus efforts on creating analytical methods that are simpler, lower cost, more performing, and environmentally sustainable. In this context, an important contribution is provided by microextraction techniques, which have long proven to be simple, reliable, and to ensure an environmentally responsible sample preparation. This manuscript reviews the recent progress in the determination of environmental Hg using microextraction techniques. The considered studies involve all environmental compartments (i.e., air, water, soil, and biota) and have been discussed by grouping them according to the employed technique while pointing out the main advances achieved and the most important limitations. The ultimate goal is to provide an up-to-date overview of the analytical potential of microextraction techniques that can be exploited in various investigation fields and to highlight the most important knowledge gaps that should be addressed in the coming years, such as in-situ sampling, the use of natural materials, and the value of metrological support to obtain data SI-traceable and comparable.
