Evidence-based diagnosis and treatment for uterine septum: a guideline. Fertil Steril 2024:S0015-0282(24)00121-3. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To provide evidence-based recommendations regarding the diagnosis and effectiveness of surgical treatment of a uterine septum. METHODS This guideline provides evidence-based recommendations regarding the diagnosis and effectiveness of surgical treatment of a uterine septum. This replaces the last version of the same name (Fertil Steril. 2016 Sep 1;106(3):530-40). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE(S) Outcomes of interest included the impact of a septum on underlying fertility, live birth, clinical pregnancy, and obstetrical outcomes. RESULT(S) The literature search identified relevant studies to inform the evidence for this guideline. CONCLUSION(S) The treatment of uterine septa and subsequent outcomes associated with infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, and adverse obstetrical outcomes are summarized. Resection of a septum has been shown to improve outcomes in patients with recurrent pregnancy loss and to decrease the likelihood of malpresentation. In the setting of infertility, it is recommended to use a shared decision-making model after appropriate counseling to determine whether or not to proceed with septum resection.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This retrospective study aimed to assess the impact of hysteroscopic septum incision on in vitro fertilization (IVF) outcomes among infertile women diagnosed with a complete septate uterus and no history of recurrent pregnancy loss. METHODS The study was conducted at a tertiary reproductive center affiliated with a university hospital and involved 78 women with a complete septate uterus. Among them, 34 women underwent hysteroscopic septum incision, while 44 women opted for expectant management. The primary outcome measure was the live birth rate, while secondary outcomes included clinical pregnancy rate, preterm birth rate, miscarriage rate, and ongoing pregnancy rate. RESULTS Women who underwent hysteroscopic septum incision demonstrated a comparable likelihood of achieving a live birth compared to those managed expectantly (25% vs. 25%, Relative Risk (RR): 1.000, 95% Confidence Interval (CI): 0.822 to 1.216). No preterm births occurred in either group. The clinical pregnancy rate, ongoing pregnancy rate, and miscarriage rate showed no significant differences between the surgical group and the expectant management group. Subgroup analyses based on the type of embryo transferred also revealed no significant differences in outcomes. CONCLUSIONS Hysteroscopic septum incision does not appear to yield improved IVF outcomes compared to expectant management in infertile women with a complete septate uterus and no history of recurrent pregnancy loss.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Septate uterus is a congenital malformation associated with adverse reproductive and pregnancy outcomes. It remains controversial whether hysteroscopic septoplasty should be recommended for the treatment of septate uterus, and it is also unclear if different hysteroscopic methods have more favorable outcomes. This study aims to compare the available hysteroscopic techniques of septoplasty for fertility, reproductive, and perioperative outcomes. METHODS This systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted following PRISMA guidelines. We searched Medline, Scopus, and Cochrane databases up to April 2023 without language restrictions. Eligible studies had to compare two or more different methods of hysteroscopic septoplasty in women with septate uterus and report on fertility and pregnancy outcomes after a follow-up. Perioperative outcomes were also examined. Data extraction was performed by two independent reviewers using a standardized form. Risk of bias was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Quality Assessment Form and Revised Cochrane risk-of-bias tool (RoB 2). RESULTS Out of 561 studies identified, 9 were included in the systematic review and meta-analysis. The comparison of different hysteroscopic septoplasty techniques based on the energy used showed higher pregnancy rates after mechanical septoplasty in comparison to electrosurgery, while miscarriage and live birth rates were comparable. Laser vs. electrosurgery and mechanical techniques of septoplasty had comparable pregnancy, miscarriage, and live birth rates. The network meta-analysis after comparing every different method used showed significantly higher clinical pregnancy rate in scissor group in comparison to resectoscope. No significant differences were found among the techniques regarding miscarriage rate and live birth rate. CONCLUSION In summary, this systematic review and network meta-analysis suggests that hysteroscopic septoplasty with scissors is associated with higher pregnancy rates compared to resectoscope. However, the limited evidence available and small sample sizes in the included studies indicate that these findings should be interpreted with caution. Further studies are required to determine the effectiveness of various hysteroscopic techniques and guide clinical decision-making in the management of this condition.

Abstract
Müllerian anomalies represent a complex collection of developmental defects occurring in up to 5% of the general population. They are increasingly more common in individuals with infertility (8.0%) and in those with a history of pregnancy loss (13.3%); they have the highest prevalence in individuals with a history of both (24.5%). A wide spectrum of anomalies can occur based on the stage at which müllerian development ceases in utero, ranging from mild (eg, a partial uterine septum) to severe, with complete absence of the cervix, uterus, and fallopian tubes (eg, müllerian agenesis). The components of the reproductive tract involved and, importantly, whether an obstruction of the tract is involved correlates with the timing of presentation, the constellation of associated symptoms, and the necessity for either medical or surgical management. Individuals, regardless of the severity of the defect, should be counseled on the gynecologic, reproductive, and obstetric risks associated with their specific müllerian anomaly to minimize adverse sequela and outcomes. We will review the clinical presentation, diagnostic evaluation, and clinical counseling of individuals with müllerian anomalies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although abdominal or hysteroscopic metroplasty for septate uterus is considered to reduce pregnancy loss and increase the take-home baby (THB) rate in women with a history of recurrent pregnancy loss, there exists an inherent risk of impaired fertility. This study aimed to clarify the reproductive outcomes of women with septate uterus who underwent abdominal and hysteroscopic metroplasty in a single center. METHODS This retrospective observational study enrolled 27 women who underwent metroplasty between 2007 and 2019. The analysis included women with septate uterus [European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE)/European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) type U2)] or septate-bicornuate uterus (ESHRE/ESGE type U3b) who underwent either abdominal or hysteroscopic metroplasty. Women who did not have an immediate desire to conceive were excluded from the analysis. As a rule, we recommended pregnancy without surgery for women who had not experienced repeated pregnancy loss. Abdominal metroplasty (ABM) was performed using the modified Tompkins' method and hysteroscopic metroplasty was performed using hysteroscopic transcervical resection of the septum [transcervical metroplasty (TCM)]. The conception ratio was calculated as the number of women who achieved ≥ 1 conception/total number of women, the pregnancy loss ratio was calculated as the number of women who experienced ≥ 1 pregnancy loss/the number of women who conceived, and the THB ratio was calculated as the number of women who achieved ≥ 1 THB/total number of women. RESULTS Seventeen women underwent ABM and 10 women underwent TCM. Thirty-three conceptions and 26 babies were taken home after surgery. ABM did not change the ≥ 1 conception ratio (76% vs. 83% before and after surgery, respectively; RR = 1.08, p = 0.80). Meanwhile, ABM decreased the ≥ 1 pregnancy loss ratio (100% vs. 36%, RR = 0.36, p < 0.001) and increased the ≥ 1 THB ratio (12% vs. 71%, RR = 6.00, p < 0.01). Similarly, TCM did not change the ≥ 1 conception ratio, decreased the ≥ 1 pregnancy loss ratio, and increased the ≥ 1 THB ratio. CONCLUSIONS Both abdominal and hysteroscopic metroplasty for septate uterus increased the THB rate by preventing pregnancy loss without affecting the chance of pregnancy. Abstract
STUDY OBJECTIVE To study the impact of Müllerian anomalies on reproductive outcomes in a recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) population and to evaluate the effect of surgical correction of uterine septum on the odds of achieving live birth in RPL patients with a septate uterus. DESIGN A retrospective cohort study. SETTING A specialized RPL clinic at a tertiary center. PATIENTS RPL patients with ≥ 2 pregnancy losses before 20 weeks' gestation who attended a specialized RPL clinic. INTERVENTION We aimed to assess the association between a possible risk factor (Müllerian anomalies) and reproductive outcomes and that between having surgery for septate uterus and achieving a live birth. MEASUREMENTS AND MAIN RESULTS The primary outcome is live birth rate in RPL patients with Müllerian anomalies compared with those without; secondary outcome measures include rates of full-term live birth, preterm live birth, first and second trimester pregnancy loss, and stillbirth. After adjusting for patient age at the initial RPL visit, the number of pregnancy losses, and the presence of any other abnormal RPL investigation, the odds of achieving live birth were on average 49.4% lower for patients with a septate uterus than those without Müllerian anomalies (odds ratio, 0.51; 95% confidence interval, 0.30-0.86) in the studied cohort (n = 377). A subanalysis of 72 patients with septate uterus demonstrated a higher likelihood of live birth in those who underwent septum resection (46/72; 63.9%) than those who elected to go for expectant management (26/72; 36.1%), yet this study was underpowered to establish a significant difference (52.2% vs 34.6%; p = .22). CONCLUSION In RPL patients, having a septate uterus significantly decreased the chances of achieving live birth. Patients with septate uterus who received hysteroscopic septum division had a higher tendency to achieve more live births than those who elected expectant management. However, our study was underpowered to detect a statistically significant difference.

Abstract
STUDY OBJECTIVE To evaluate whether aggressive cervical dilation is effective for creating the initial perforation between noncommunicating cavities of the complete septate uterus (CSU), which serves as the first step of hysteroscopic cervix-preserving metroplasty (CPM). DESIGN A retrospective cohort. SETTING A tertiary referral center. PATIENTS Fifty-three patients with CSU were diagnosed using vaginal examinations, combined two- and three-dimensional vaginal ultrasounds, and office-based hysteroscopies. INTERVENTIONS Patients who had received hysteroscopic CPM with the initial perforation created by aggressive cervical dilation or by the traditional method of bougie-guided incisions were compared. MEASUREMENTS AND MAIN RESULTS Of the 53 patients with CSU, 44 patients received hysteroscopic CPM that required the creation of a perforation. Patients who received aggressive cervical dilation for creation of the perforation had nonsignificantly shorter surgical times (33.5 minutes, 95% confidence interval [CI], 28.4-38.6 vs 48.7 minutes, 95% CI, 28.2-71.3, p = .099), used significantly lower volumes of distending media (3.6 liters, 95% CI, 3.1-4.1 vs 6.8 liters, 95% CI, 4.2-9.3, p <.001), and had higher success rates (84.4%, 95% CI, 67.2-94.7 vs 50.0%, 95% CI, 21.1-78.9, p = .019). The sites of perforation all occurred on the endocervical septum and were generally fibrous and avascular. CONCLUSION We present a novel, effective method for creating the initial perforation in hysteroscopic CPM. The success may be because of the existence of a potential weakness in the septum of the duplicated cervix, which spontaneously tears upon aggressive mechanical dilation. The method forgoes the risks associated with sharp incisions based on potentially unreliable cues and may greatly simplify the procedure.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Hysteroscopic surgery and assisted reproduction technology are feasible ways to improve the reproductive outcome. Our aim was to study hysteroscopic septoplasty and myomectomy's effect on infertility and reproductive performance. METHODS Retrospective cohort of patients who had unexplained infertility and/or recurrent miscarriages and had myomectomy or septoplasty in the period September 2016-october 2021 with a total of 18 months' follow up. The main outcome measures were spontaneous pregnancy, term pregnancy and miscarriage. For analysis, we used Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20. RESULTS One hundred and sixty-five patients were included. The mean age of patients was 39 years. 40 patients had septum resection and 125 patients had hysteroscopic myomectomy. A spontaneous pregnancy rate after surgery was achieved in 46 patients (27.9%). Out of the 64 patients who had failed IVF preoperatively, 32 patients (50%) had a successful IVF post-hysteroscopic surgery and there were more successful cases in the patients who had fibroid resection but this difference did not reach a statistical significance (P value 0.055). In the 79 pregnancies after surgery, preterm birth and miscarriage were seen in 10 patients (12.7%), similarly, respectively after septal or fibroid resection. Miscarriages were less post-operatively. Hysteroscopic myomectomy, compared with hysteroscopic metroplasty, was significantly associated with higher spontaneous pregnancy rate (63.0% Vs 37.0%, P value 0.018), more term pregnancies (87.5% vs. 12.5%, P value 0.001) and less miscarriage rate (40%vs 60%, P value 0.003). Pregnancy post-operatively in patients with primary infertility was more statistically significantly associated with hysteroscopic myomectomy than with hysteroscopic septoplasty (95.8% vs. 4.2%, p value 0.030). In patients who got pregnant postoperatively there was no statistically significant difference in the mode of delivery. CONCLUSION In carefully selected patients with unexplained infertility and recurrent miscarriage, hysteroscopic myomectomy, compared with hysteroscopic metroplasty, was significantly associated with higher spontaneous pregnancy, more term pregnancies and less miscarriage rates. More than metroplasty, hysteroscopic myomectomy led to higher spontaneous pregnancies in patients with primary infertility. TRIAL REGISTRATION NCT05560295.

Abstract
Septate uterus is the most common congenital uterine malformation. It has been associated with poor reproductive outcomes, such as infertility and recurrent miscarriage, in the context of both assisted and non-assisted reproduction, though the exact underlying pathophysiological reasons remain unclear. Diagnosis is based on two-dimensional and three-dimensional ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, or laparoscopic/hysteroscopic findings. Hysteroscopic repair of the uterine septum has been shown to confer several benefits to reproductive outcomes, though this fact remains in question, due to inconsistent and or low-quality evidence in the medical literature. An individualized approach to the treatment of infertility patients with septate uteri is imperative, given the plethora of possible underlying factors that may complicate management. In this report, we present the case of a patient with a subseptate uterus and a history of infertility, who, following hysteroscopic metroplasty, managed to conceive and ultimately successfully deliver a healthy child.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The septate uterus is the most common congenital uterine anomaly, and hysteroscopy is the gold standard for diagnosing it. The goal of this meta-analysis is to perform a pooled analysis of the diagnostic performance of two-dimensional transvaginal ultrasonography, two-dimensional transvaginal sonohysterography, three-dimensional transvaginal ultrasound, and three-dimensional transvaginal sonohysterography for the diagnosis of the septate uterus. METHODS Studies published between 1990 and 2022 were searched in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. From 897 citations, we selected eighteen studies to include in this meta-analysis. RESULTS The mean prevalence of uterine septum in this meta-analysis was 27.8%. Pooled sensitivity and specificity were 83% and 99% for two-dimensional transvaginal ultrasonography (ten studies), 94% and 100% for two-dimensional transvaginal sonohysterography (eight studies), and 98% and 100% for three-dimensional transvaginal ultrasound (seven articles), respectively. The diagnostic accuracy of three-dimensional transvaginal sonohysterography was only described in two studies, and we did not calculate the pooled sensitivity and specificity for this method. CONCLUSION Three-dimensional transvaginal ultrasound has the best performance capacity for the diagnosis of the septate uterus.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to analyze the reproductive outcomes of natural pregnancy after hysteroscopic septum resection in patients with recurrent miscarriage, primary infertility, or secondary infertility. DATA SOURCES The PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, VIP Database, and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM) databases were electronically searched. The search time frame was from inception up to July 2021. The English search terms were (arcuate* and uter*), (sept* and uter*), (subseptate* and uter*), metroplast*, septoplast*, and resect*. STUDY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Selection criteria included randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, and case series that explored reproductive outcomes after hysteroscopic septum resection in patients with recurrent miscarriage, primary infertility, or secondary infertility with or without a control group. METHODS The primary outcomes were the live birth rate and eventual postoperative live birth rate after hysteroscopic septum resection. The secondary outcomes were the clinical pregnancy rate, preterm birth rate, and miscarriage rate. Study-level proportions of outcomes were transformed using the Freeman-Tukey double-arcsine transformation to calculate pooled values for the postoperative rates; the counted data were analyzed using relative risk as the effect analysis statistic, and each effect size was provided with its 95% confidence interval. Heterogeneity between the results of the included studies was analyzed using the I2 test. RESULTS Overall, 5 cohort studies and 22 case series involving 1506 patients were included. In patients with a septate uterus and recurrent miscarriage, hysteroscopic septum resection was associated with an increased live birth rate (relative risk, 1.77; 95% confidence interval, 1.26-2.49; P=.001; I2=0%), resulting in a postoperative live birth rate of 66% (95% confidence interval, 59-72), and septum resection was associated with a reduced preterm birth rate (relative risk, 0.15; 95% confidence interval, 0.04-0.53; P=.003; I2=0%) and miscarriage rate (relative risk, 0.36; 95% confidence interval, 0.20-0.66; P=.0009; I2=0%). In patients with a septate uterus and primary infertility, hysteroscopic septum resection was associated with an increased live birth rate (relative risk, 4.12; 95% confidence interval, 1.19-14.29; P=.03; I2=0%) and clinical pregnancy rate (relative risk, 2.28; 95% confidence interval, 1.04-4.98; P=.04; I2=0%). The postoperative live birth rate was 37% (95% confidence interval, 30-44), and the miscarriage rate of patients with primary infertility was reduced (relative risk, 0.19; 95% confidence interval, 0.06-0.56; P=.003). The efficacy of hysteroscopic septum resection in patients with secondary infertility was unclear. However, their postoperative live birth rate was found to be 41% (95% confidence interval, 2-88). CONCLUSION Hysteroscopic septum resection is associated with an increased live birth rate and a reduced miscarriage rate in patients with recurrent miscarriage or primary infertility, indicating that septum resection may improve the reproductive outcomes of these patients. The effectiveness of septum resection was unclear for patients with secondary infertility. These findings are limited by the quality of the included studies, warranting further randomized controlled trials, including only patients with recurrent miscarriage or primary infertility.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Mullerian anomalies affect 7% of reproductive age women. It is important to have a basic understanding of these conditions, given they can affect women at any stage of life and have potential impacts on fertility and pregnancy. This article seeks to review these anomalies as well as specific diagnostic pitfalls and strategies to approach these conditions in both high- and low-resource environments. METHODS This review was undertaken with a PubMed focused search, using terms related to the diagnosis and management of Mullerian anomalies in many worldwide settings. Consideration was made to assess the medical resources available in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), which could impact diagnostic and management decisions, compared with high-income countries (HICs). Concurrent medical conditions and both gynecologic and obstetric outcomes were also searched. Practice recommendations from international societies were also reviewed and compared. Finally, 4 conditions were evaluated more closely to assess management differences based on geographic locations and whether the countries were LMICs or HICs; specifically, those evaluated were lower vaginal atresia, uterovaginal agenesis, bicornuate uterus, and septate uterus. DISCUSSION Mullerian anomalies encompass a wide variety of conditions, ranging from subtle anatomic changes without concurrent anomalies to complex conditions, associated with anomalies of the kidney or spine, which could impact the ability to manage certain conditions based on medical resources available geographically. A systematic approach and provider expertise is important for appropriate diagnosis and management, independent of geographic location. Counseling is critical for medical and surgical decision-making and might be limited or guided by the resources available in certain settings or even by existing laws. CONCLUSIONS Limited outcomes are available among patients with Mullerian anomalies in LMICs; however, the management varies based on the basic tools available to address acute needs, as well as long-term fertility and obstetric concerns. More research is needed in this population, which could help drive the importance of early diagnosis and management not only in HICs but also in LMICs, where individualization strategies are key.

Abstract
Aim: Uterine septum is the most common type of congenital uterine malformation. The septum has also been suggested as a potential cause of infertility. The role of the septum in infertility and whether the septum can be resected is debatable. We aimed to reveal the results of assisted reproductive techniques in patients with septate uterus according to whether or not resection is performed.
Material and Method: 7790 patients were scanned retrospectively. 110 patients with the uterine septum and unexplained infertility were included in the study. Patients who underwent uterine septum resection were recorded. The clinical pregnancies of patients were compared according to whether or not resection was performed. In addition, patients with complete septum were evaluated according to whether or not resection was performed, and their clinical pregnancies were evaluated.
Results: It was revealed that 79 of the patients with uterine septum underwent septum resection operation. It was determined that 31 patients were not treated. Clinical pregnancy rates were found to be statistically significantly higher in the expectant management group (p=0.02). In addition, comparing the clinical pregnancy rates of the resection and expectant management groups in patients with a complete septum, no significant difference was found between the groups (p=0.134).
Conclusion: In our study, the success of treatment with assisted reproductive techniques did not change after septum resection. Although uterine septum resection is a simple and safe method, it has disadvantages such as the development of adhesions and rupture in the uterus. There is insufficient evidence to perform septum resection in patients with uterine septum prior to infertility treatment.

Abstract
ObjectiveAlthough the randomized controlled trial (RCT) of the efficacy of hysteroscopic resection in women with uterine septum has not shown any significant correlation in recent research, motivation for deeper study remains insufficient. In this study, the objective was to determine pregnancy-related outcomes, along with adverse obstetric outcomes, following hysteroscopic resection and also to determine whether women with hysteroscopic resection bear the same outcomes as women with normal uterine cavities.Search MethodsFrom January 1995 to February 2022, a systematic literature review was conducted to identify all studies published concerning the gestation outcomes of women with and without hysteroscopic resection while comparing the gestation outcomes of women after hysteroscopic resection and with a normal uterine cavity. Our primary outcome was the live birth rate (LBR). The secondary outcomes were term delivery, preterm delivery, spontaneous miscarriage, malpresentation, cesarean section, and other adverse obstetric outcomes.Results22 studies were included in this meta-analysis. The control groups of 14 studies were treated women, and the control groups of the other 8 studies were patients bearing a normal uterine cavity. Hysteroscopic resection was related to a higher rate of term delivery (OR = 2.26, 95% CI, 1.26–4.05), and a lower rate of spontaneous abortion (OR = 0.50, 95% CI, 0.27–0.93), and a lower rate of malpresentation (OR = 0.31, 95% CI, 0.19–0.50). Nevertheless, in comparison with the normal uterus group, the rates of preterm birth, cesarean section, and postpartum hemorrhage after resection did not return to normal levels.ConclusionHysteroscopic resection can effectively reduce the risk of abortion and malpresentation in patients possessing a uterine septum while increasing the term delivery rate. Although well-designed RCTs should confirm our meta-analysis, it still bears recommending to patients

Abstract
Objective: we performed a systematic review/meta-analysis to evaluate the impact of septate uterus and hysteroscopic metroplasty on pregnancy rate-(PR), live birth rate-(LBR), spontaneous abortion-(SA) and preterm labor (PL) in infertile/recurrent miscarriage-(RM) patients. Data sources: a literature search of relevant papers was conducted using electronic bibliographic databases (Medline, Scopus, Embase, Science direct). Study eligibility criteria: we included in this meta-analysis all types of observational studies that evaluated the clinical impact of the uterine septum and its resection (hysteroscopic metroplasty) on reproductive and obstetrics outcomes. The population included were patients with a diagnosis of infertility or recurrent pregnancy loss. Study appraisal and synthesis methods: outcomes were evaluated according to three subgroups: (i) Women with untreated uterine septum versus women without septum (controls); (ii) Women with treated uterine septum versus women with untreated septum (controls); (iii) Women before and after septum removal. Odds ratios (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated for the outcome measures. A p-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Subgroup analysis was performed according to the depth of the septum. Sources of heterogeneity were explored by meta-regression analysis according to specific features: assisted reproductive technology/spontaneous conception, study design and quality of papers included Results: data from 38 studies were extracted. (i) septum versus no septum: a lower PR and LBR were associated with septate uterus vs. controls (OR 0.45, 95% CI 0.27−0.76; p < 0.0001; and OR 0.21, 95% CI 0.12−0.39; p < 0.0001); a higher proportion of SA and PL was associated with septate uterus vs. controls (OR 4.29, 95% CI 2.90−6.36; p < 0.0001; OR 2.56, 95% CI 1.52−4.31; p = 0.0004). (ii) treated versus untreated septum: PR and PL were not different in removed vs. unremoved septum(OR 1.10, 95% CI 0.49−2.49; p = 0.82 and OR 0.81, 95% CI 0.35−1.86; p = 0.62); a lower proportion of SA was associated with removed vs. unremoved septum (OR 0.47, 95% CI 0.21−1.04; p = 0.001); (iii) before-after septum removal: the proportion of LBR was higher after the removal of septum (OR 49.58, 95% CI 29.93−82.13; p < 0.0001) and the proportion of SA and PL was lower after the removal of the septum (OR 0.02, 95% CI 0.02−0.04; p < 0.000 and OR 0.05, 95% CI 0.03−0.08; p < 0.0001) Conclusions: the results show the detrimental effect of the uterine septum on PR, LBR, SA and PL. Its treatment reduces the rate of SA.
