Abstract
We report a copper-catalyzed ligand-controlled selective 1,2- and 1,4-hydrosilylation of 1,3-enynes, which furnishes enantiomerically enriched propargyl- and 1,2-allenylsilane products in high yields with excellent enantioselectivities (up to 99% ee). This reaction proceeds under mild conditions, shows broad substrate scope for both 1,3-enynes and trihydrosilanes, and displays excellent regioselectivities. Mechanistic studies based on deuterium-labeling reactions and density functional theory (DFT) calculations suggest that allenylcopper is the dominant reactive intermediate under both 1,2- and 1,4-hydrosilylation conditions, and it undergoes metathesis with silanes via selective four-membered or six-membered transition state, depending on the nature of the ligand. The weak interactions between the ligands and the reacting partners are found to be the key controlling factor for the observed regioselectivity switch. The origin of high enantiocontrol in the 1,4-hydrosilylation is also revealed by high level DLPNO-CCSD(T) calculations.

Abstract
Reaction of 2,3-allenols with PhMe2SiZnCl or Ph2MeSiZnCl under catalysis of IPrCuCl or SIPrCuCl was carried out, affording 2-silyl-1,3-butadienes. Secondary and tertiary 2,3-allenols could be used as coupling partners. Reaction of secondary 2,3-allenols gave (E)-2-silyl-1,3-butadienes as the only products.

Abstract
Regioselective silylation of 2,3-allenols with disilanes was carried out under catalysis of Pd2dba3/P(o-MeOC6H4)3. In the presence of Cs2CO3, the reaction achieved 2-silyl-1,3-dienes. Reaction of 1-aryl-2,3-allenols gave the products with excellent Z/E selectivity and E-isomers as the major species. Reaction of α-alkylallenols or α-alkyl-α-aryl-allenols resulted in products with moderate Z/E selectivity and E-isomers are also major. Without a base, the reaction produced α-silyl-β-hydroxyl vinylsilanes, which were converted to 2-silyl-1,3-dienes upon treatment with Cs2CO3.

Abstract
Allenes are versatile synthons in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry because of their diverse reactivities. Catalytic 1,4-hydrosilylation of 1,3-enynes may present the straightforward strategy for synthesis of silylallenes. However, the transition-metal-catalyzed reaction has not been successful due to poor selectivity and very limited substrate scopes. We report here the efficient and selective 1,4-hydrosilylation of branched 1,3-enynes enabled by the ene-diamido rare-earth ate catalysts using both alkyl and aryl hydrosilanes, leading to the exclusive formation of tetrasubstituted silylallenes. Deuteration reaction, kinetic study, and DFT calculations were conducted to investigate the possible mechanism, revealing crucial roles of high Lewis acidity, large ionic radius, and ate structure of the rare-earth catalysts.

Abstract
A regio- and stereoselective hydrosilylation of 1,3-enynes with primary and secondary silanes to access 1,3-dienylsilanes is accomplished by employing an iron precatalyst bearing iminopyridine-oxazoline (IPO) ligand. The hydrosilylation proceeds via syn-addition of a Si-H bond to the alkyne group of 1,3-enynes, incorporating the silyl group at the site proximal to the alkene. The reaction features mild conditions, broad substrate scope, and good functional group tolerance. The synthetic utility was demonstrated by gram-scale reactions and further transformations.

Abstract
An intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction of a silyl-substituted vinylimidazole delivers a diastereomeric mixture of C4-silyl functionalized dihydrobenzimidazoles. Subsequent diastereoselective reduction and elaboration of the lactone gives rise to a polysubstituted tetrahydrobenzimidazole, which, upon oxidative rearrangement, affords a single spirofused imidazolone containing all of the relevant functionality for an approach to the oroidin dimers axinellamine, massadine, and palau'amine.

Abstract
2-Silicon-substituted 1,3-dienes containing non transferrable groups known to promote transmetallation were prepared by Grignard chemistry and enyne metathesis. These dienes participated in one pot metathesis/Diels-Alder reactions in regio- and diastereoselective fashions. Electron-rich alkenes showed the fastest rates in metathesis reactions, and ethylene, a commonly used metathesis promoter slowed enyne metathesis. 2-Pyridyldimethylsilyl and 2-thienyldimethylsilyl substituted Diels-Alder cycloadducts participated in cross-coupling chemistry and the 2-thienyldimethylsilyl substituted cycloadducts underwent cross-coupling under very mild reaction conditions.

Abstract
A Diels-Alder/rearrangement sequence has been pursued in our lab en route to a number of oroidin dimers. In order to access the fully substituted core of these molecules, 1',2'-disubstituted 4-vinylimidazoles were required as dienes. The preparation of a series of a 4-vinylimidazoles containing substituents on the vinyl moiety via hydroalumination/electrophilic trapping or hydrosilylation are described. These derivatives undergo Diels-Alder reactions with N-phenylmaleimide to provide the tetrahydrobenzimidazole derivatives. The cycloadducts derived from halosubstituted systems generally undergo elimination, leading to the corresponding dihydrobenzimidazole, whereas the silyl and stannyl derivatives provide the corresponding 4-substituted tetrahydrobenzimidazole.
