Abstract
(Borylmethyl)trimethylsilanes are important building blocks in organic synthesis displaying a unique reactivity. Yet, the synthesis of more advanced derivatives is limited by the advanced silicon intermediates required for their preparation. Herein, a one-pot synthesis of (borylmethyl)silanes is developed, sourced on available alkyl-, aryl-, alkoxy-, aryloxy-, and silyl-hydrosilane materials. The privileged reactivity of N-hydroxyphthalimidyl diazoacetate (NHPI-DA) in Si-H insertion and α-silyl redox-active esters in different decarboxylative borylation reactions are scrutinized.

Abstract
Transition-metal-catalyzed Si-H bond insertion reactions are generally limited to stabilized diazo compounds. An efficient copper-catalyzed Si-H bond insertion reaction of N-propargyl ynamides with hydrosilanes is described, allowing practical and atom-economic construction of valuable organosilanes in generally moderate to excellent yields under mild reaction conditions. Notably, this reaction constitutes a new method of Si-H bond insertion reaction involving vinyl cations as key intermediates.

Abstract
Donor and donor-donor carbenes are two important kinds of carbenes, which have experienced tremendous growth in the past two decades. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the recent development of donor and donor-donor carbene chemistry. The development of this chemistry offers efficient protocols to construct a wide variety of C-C and C-X bonds in organic synthesis. This review is organized based on the different types of carbene precursors, including diazo compounds, hydrazones, enynones, cycloheptatrienes and cyclopropenes. The typical transformations, the reaction mechanisms, as well as their subsequent applications in the synthesis of complex natural products and bioactive molecules are discussed. Due to the rapidly increasing interest in this area, we believe that this review will provide a timely and comprehensive discussion of recent progress in donor and donor-donor carbene chemistry.

Abstract
A catalytic, metal-free O-H bond insertion of α-diazoesters in water in the presence of B(C6F5)3· nH2O (2 mol %) was developed, affording a series of α-hydroxyesters in good to excellent yields. The reaction features easy operation and wide substrate scope, and importantly, no metal is needed as compared with the conventional methods. Significantly, this approach further expands the applications of B(C6F5)3 under water-tolerant conditions.

Abstract
An unprecedented intermolecular nucleophilic attack of C═X bonds (X = O and S) on the rhodium(I)-carbenes has been developed. This transformation allows for the coupling-cyclization of aroylamides with α-diazoketones and provides concise access to 2,4,5-trisubstituted 1,3-oxazoles and 1,3-thiazoles with a broad tolerance of functional groups.

Abstract
This account reviews the development of Si–H bond insertion reactions, giving an overview of the catalysts employed. Metal carbenes can be inserted into Si–H bonds, allowing the selective formation of C–Si bonds.
