Abstract
The 1,2,3-triazole-based chemosensors, synthesized through Cu(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition via 'click chemistry', offer a straightforward yet highly effective method for detecting metal cations and anions with remarkable accuracy, selectivity and sensitivity, making them invaluable across various fields such as chemistry, pharmacology, environmental science and biology. The selective recognition of these ions is crucial due to their significant roles in biological and physiological processes, where even slight concentration variations can have major consequences. The article reviews literature from 2017 to 2024, highlighting advancements in the synthesis of 1,2,3-triazole-based ligands and their application (along with sensing mechanism) for detection of various ions causing health and environmental hazards. The detection aspects have been discussed sequentially for the transition-, inner transition-, and the metals from the s or p block of the periodic table.

Abstract
It is critical to take safety action if carcinogenic heavy metals and ammonia can be detected quickly, cheaply, and selectively in an environmental sample. As a result, compound 4a [4-(1-(2-(2,4-Dinitrophenyl)hydrazineylidene)-3-(naphthalen-2-yl)allyl)-5-methyl-1-phenyl-1 H-1,2,3-triazole] and compound 4b [4-(1-(2-(2,4-Dinitrophenyl)hydrazineylidene)-3-(naphthalen-2-yl)allyl)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)-5-methyl-1 H-1,2,3-triazole] were prepared. The aldol condensation process of 4-acetyl-1,2,3-triazoles 1a,b (Ar = C6H4; 4-FC6H4) with 2-naphthaldehyde yields 1-acetyl-1,2,3-triazoles 1a,b (Ar = C6H4; 4-FC6H4) (5-methyl-1-aryl-1 H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl) -3-(naphthalen-2-yl)prop-2-en-1-ones 3a,b with a yield of around 95%. The target compounds 4a,b are obtained in around 88% yield by condensation of 3a,b with (2,4-dinitrophenyl)hydrazine in a refluxing acidic medium. Compounds 4a,b exhibited possible colorimetric detection for chromium ion in the range of 0-14 ppm and ammonia in the range of 0-20 ppm. As a result, this research suggests that strong electron-withdraw groups in related probes can improve anion detection ability, while the conjugation effect should also be considered while building structures.

Abstract
Quantitative and accurate determination of iron ions play a vital role in maintaining environment and human health, but very few polymeric chemosensors were available for the detection of Fe3+ in aqueous solutions. Herein, a water-soluble rhodamine-poly (ethylene glycol) conjugate (DRF-PEG), as a dual responsive colorimetric and fluorescent polymeric sensor for Fe3+ detection with high biocompatibility, was first synthesized through Schiff base reaction between rhodamine 6G hydrazide and benzaldehyde-functionalized polyethylene glycol. As expected, the introduction of PEG segment in DRF-PEG significantly improved the water solubility of rhodamine derivatives and resulted in a good biosensing performance. The detection limit of DRF-PEG for Fe3+ in pure water is 1.00 μM as a fluorescent sensor and 3.16 μM as a colorimetric sensor at pH 6.5. The specific sensing mechanism of DRF-PEG toward Fe3+ is proposed based on the intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) mechanism, in which the O and N atoms in rhodamine moiety, together with the benzene groups from benzaldehyde-modified PEG segment, participate in coordination with Fe3+. Furthermore, DRF-PEG was applied for the ratiometric imaging of Fe3+ in HeLa cells and showed the potential for quantitative determination of Fe3+ in fetal bovine serum samples. This work provides insights for the design of water-soluble chemosensors, which can be implemented in iron-related biological sensing and clinical diagnosis.

Abstract
The redox-active ferrocene containing two cyclopentadienyl rings and iron was extensively employed in the field of sensing, catalysis, medicine, biotechnology etc., due to the structural stability, solubility in common solvents and easy structural modification to make a wide variety of ferrocene derivatives. The ferrocene moiety can be linked suitably with fluoro-chromogenic units and applied for the multichannel (fluorescent, chromogenic and redox) sensing of various bioactive and toxic analytes. This review was narrated to compile some important ferrocene based fluorescent chemosensors developed for the detection of metal ions, anions and neutral analytes. The analytical novelty and sensing mechanisms of the summarized chemosensors are discussed to open new scopes for future research.

Abstract
A series of bio-organometallic-hydrazones of the general formula [{(η5-C5H4)-C(R)=N-N(H)-C6H4-4-SO2NH2}]MLn(MLn = Re(CO)3, Mn(CO)3, FeCp; R=H, CH3) were prepared by reaction of formyl/acetyl organometallic precursors with 4-hydrazino-benzenesulphonamide. All compounds were characterized by conventional spectroscopic techniques (infra-red, 1H and 13C NMR, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis). Biological evaluation as carbonic anhydrase (CA, EC 4.2.1.1) inhibitors agents was carried out using four human/h) isoforms, hCA I, II, IX and XII. The cytosolic isoforms hCA I and II were effectively inhibited by almost all derivatives with inhibition constants of 1.7-22.4 nM. Similar effects were observed for the tumour-associated transmembrane isoform hCA XII (KIs of 1.9-24.4 nM). hCA IX was less sensitive to inhibition with these compounds. The presence of bio-organometallic or metallo-carbonyl moieties in the molecules of these CAIs makes them amenable for interesting pharmacologic applications, for example for compounds with CO donating properties.
