Abstract
Recently, the aim of analytical community is to reduce the usage of hazardous chemicals; so eco-friendly, rapid, selective and cost-effective methods were developed for simultaneous determination of montelukast sodium (MKT) and loratadine (LRT). The first method was based on chromatographic separation performed on precoated silica gel 60 GF254 plates with ethyl acetate-ethanol 9: 1 (v/v) as the mobile phase. The developed plates were scanned and quantified at 260 nm. The method gives linear correlation over concentration ranges of 0.3-3.6 μg/spot and 0.2-4.0 μg/spot for MKT and LRT, respectively. It was also successfully applied to analysis of both drugs in their pharmaceutical preparation and human plasma. The other methods are UV-spectrophotometric methods based on smart spectra manipulating to zero order spectrum of each drug. These methods are named response correlation (RC), a-centering and ratio derivative methods. RC and a-centering methods were dependent on the presence of an isosbestic point between the overlapped spectra of both drugs. While ratio derivative method based on manipulation of the ratio spectra of both drugs. The two drugs obey Beer-Lambert law over the concentration ranges of 3.0-30.0 μg/mL in the three spectrophotometric methods. Moreover, the greenness of the developed methods is assessed using suitable analytical Eco-Scale and Green Analytical Procedure Index.

Abstract
Fluticasone furoate (FF) and vilanterol trifenatate (VT) is a widely prescribed combination in the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. In the present study, two quantitative methods based on HPLC-UV and spectrofluorimetric analysis had been developed and validated for simultaneous estimation of FF and VT in rabbit plasma using baclomethasone as internal standard (ISTD). Analytes and ISTD were separated from plasma using simple step of protein precipitation with acetonitrile. Chromatographic separation was achieved on Spherisorb S5 ODS2 (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5.0 µm) column using mobile phase that constitute acetonitrile-0.01% glacial acetic acid in water (70:30, v/v) and then detected on a UV detector at 235 nm wavelength. Spectrofluorimetric detection was performed using absorption/emission wavelength (λabs/em) of 286/352 nm and 362/407 nm for FF and VT, respectively. For both analytes, linearity ranged from 4-200 ng/mL to 10-200 ng/mL using HPLC-UV and spectrofluorimetric method, respectively. Methods were validated as per FDA recommendations. Statistical analysis revealed that these detection methods are statistically insignificant difference and can be used interchangeably without any bias. Further, these methods were applied in pharmacokinetic study for simultaneous estimation of FF and VT in rabbit plasma.

Abstract
The compound medicine of betamethasone sodium phosphate (BSP) and betamethasone dipropionate (BDP) is widely used for diverse glucocorticoid-sensitive acute and chronic diseases such as asthma, rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. It will be useful and beneficial to validate sensitive method for the determination of BSP, BDP and their metabolites for their pharmacokinetic study. Hereby, an ultra-high pressure liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) has been validated for the determination of BSP, BDP and their metabolites betamethasone (BOH), betamethasone 17-monodipropionate (B17P) and betamethasone 21-monodipropionate (B21P) in human plasma. Liquid-liquid extraction with ether and n-hexane (v/v, 4:1) was used for sample preparation of BDP, BOH, B17P and B21P with beclomethasone dipropionate as internal standard (IS), while solid phase extraction was adopted for sample preparation of BSP using prednisolone as IS. The chromatographic separation was performed on a Hypurity C18 column (150 mm×2.1 mm, 5 μm) for BOH, BDP, B21P and B17P, and a Luna C18 (2) column (150 mm×2.0 mm, 5 μm) for BSP. Electrospray ionization interfaced with positive multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) scan mode was used for mass spectrometric detection. The standard calibration curves were linear within the range of 2.525 × 10-9-403.9 × 10-9 mol·dm-3 for BSP, 0.125 × 10-9-55.81 × 10-9 mol·dm-3 for BDP, 0.278 × 10-9-74.95 × 10-9 mol·dm-3 for BOH, 0.098 × 10-9-4.688 × 10-9 mol·dm-3 for B17P and 0.226 × 10-9-5.411 × 10-9 mol·dm-3 for B21P, respectively. The validated method was successfully applied to a bioequivalence study in 23 healthy subjects after they were injected with this compound medicine BSP and BDP.

HPLC-UV Method for the Identification and Screening of Hydroquinone, Ethers of Hydroquinone and Corticosteroids Possibly Used as Skin-Whitening Agents in Illicit Cosmetic Products. Abstract
Corticosteroids, hydroquinone and its ethers are regulated in cosmetics by the Regulation 1223/2009. As corticosteroids are forbidden to be used in cosmetics and cannot be present as contaminants or impurities, an identification of one of these illicit compounds deliberately introduced in these types of cosmetics is enough for market survey control. In order to quickly identify skin-whitening agents present in illegal cosmetics, this article proposes an HPLC-UV method for the identification and screening of hydroquinone, 3 ethers of hydroquinone and 39 corticosteroids that may be found in skin-whitening products. Two elution gradients were developed to separate all compounds. The main solvent gradient (A) allows the separation of 39 compounds among the 43 compounds considered in 50 min. Limits of detection on skin-whitening cosmetics are given. For compounds not separated, a complementary gradient elution (B) using the same solvents is proposed. Between 2004 and 2009, a market survey on "skin-whitening cosmetic" was performed on 150 samples and highlights that more than half of the products tested do not comply with the Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009 (amending the Council Directive 76/768/EEC).
