Abstract
The textile industry, a vital economic force in developing nations, faces significant challenges including the release of undesired dye effluents, posing potential health and environmental risks which need to be minimized with the aid of sustainable materials. This study focuses on the photocatalytic potential of hydroxyapatite together with different dopants like titanium-di-oxide (TiO2) and zinc oxide (ZnO). Here, we synthesized hydroxyapatite (HAp) using different calcium sources (calcium hydroxide, calcium carbonate) and phosphorous sources (phosphoric acid, diammonium hydrogen phosphate) precursors through a wet chemical precipitation technique. Pure and doped HAp were characterized via different technologies, which consist of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), as well as UV-vis spectroscopy. The effectiveness of the synthesized photocatalyst was evaluated by its interactivity with synthetic azo dyes (Congo red). The photodegradation of Ca(OH)2_HAp, CaCO3_HAp, ZnO-doped HAp as well as TiO2-doped HAp, were obtained as 89%, 91%, 86%, and 91%, respectively. Furthermore, at neutral pH, TiO2-doped HAp shows the highest degradation (86%), whereas ZnO-doped HAp possesses the lowest degradation (73%). Additionally, various XRD models (Monshi-Scherrer's, Williamson-Hall, and Halder-Wagner methods) were employed to study crystallite dimension.

Abstract
Transparent and robust titanium dioxide (TiO2) coatings were prepared by the facile aerosol-assisted chemical vapor deposition (AACVD) method. The effects of deposition temperature and precursor concentration on the crystal growth and optical properties of TiO2 coating were investigated. It is found that the obtained TiO2 coating has strong adhesion to the substrate, which can effectively avoid mechanical scratches and wear by sharp objects, adhesive tape and steel wool. Besides, in the marine corrosion protection test, both the open circuit potential and electrochemical impedance of TiO2 coating immersed in artificial seawater for different times are greater than those of the bare S420 steel substrate. Particularly, the high-frequency phase angle of the TiO2 coating increases, and the impedance value at low frequency of 0.10 Hz is about 2 orders of magnitude higher than that of the bare S420 substrate. In addition, the significant decrease of corrosion products on the surface further proves that the deposited TiO2 coating exhibits better corrosion inhibition and excellent anticorrosion properties, which is expected in application of the surface coating protection of the marine exploration lens.

Abstract
This work was carried out to devise a feasible alternative to remove cationic dyes from industrial wastewater. A nanomixture of (TiO2-SnO2-Al2O3) cooperating with Hydroxyapatite (HAp) nanorods was synthesized in this regard as a catalyst to degrade Rhodamine B (RhB) dye from aqueous medium. The physicochemical properties of the hydrothermally prepared Hydroxyapatite Nano Mixture (HNM) were revealed through XRD, FESEM, TEM, XPS, FTIR, BET-BHJ, UV-Vis, and Raman spectroscopy techniques. The synthesized material which was found to be nanorods of average crystallite size 12.53 nm and BET Specific Surface area 60.81 m2 g-1 proved to be very effective for the removal of RhB at various pH conditions (acid, basic, and neutral). Maximum removal of 97% was achieved within 30 min of UV irradiation using 5 ppm RhB in acidic medium while at a higher concentration (20 ppm), it takes just 90 min to achieve 98% degradation of RhB under the same reaction conditions. A further catalytic potential of the prepared nanomixture for hydrogen (H2) evolution via water splitting was explored where 129.45 μmol g-1 of H2 was evolved within 60 min. Our findings suggest that the prepared nanomixture could be used as an efficient catalyst for removing spent dyes used in industrial processes and also as a catalyst for hydrogen gas production.

Abstract
Hydroxyapatite (HA) coating has received significant attention in the scientific community for the development of implants, and HA coating on titanium oxide (TiO2) nanotubes has shown potential benefits in the improvement of cell proliferation, adhesion, and differentiation. In this study, a HA coating on a TiO2 nanotubular surface was developed to improve the biocompatibility of the titanium (Ti) surface via magnetron sputtering. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), surface profilometry, and water contact goniometry revealed that HA-coated TiO2 nanotubes influenced the surface roughness (Ra) and hydrophilicity. The XRD and FTIR peaks indicated the presence of crystalline phases of TiO2 (anatase) and HA-coated TiO2 nanotubes after annealing at 500 °C for 120 min. The HA-coated TiO2 nanotubes showed significantly increased Ra and decreased water contact angle (θ) compared to the as-anodized TiO2 nanotubular and bare CP-Ti surfaces. MTS assay using osteoblast-like cells confirmed that the HA-coated TiO2 nanotubular surface provided an enhanced cell attachment and growth when compared to as-anodized TiO2 nanotubular and pure CP-Ti surfaces.

Abstract
Mask-free direct printing can alleviate the high cost and high consumption involved in photo-lithography for chip processing. Most of their technical routes are based on the traditional short focal length nozzles, which is suffered from higher probability of nozzle retardation or clogging as well as the higher mechanical burdens. While aerosol-assisted chemical vapor deposition (AACVD) has better deposition adaptability but usually lack of focused printing. In this study, a system that combines of long focal length ALS with AACVD, so called AAFCVD printing system has been developed. The single-point printing capability and aerosol precursor adaptability were verified, and the relationship between the single spot printing performance and the chemical reaction mechanisms were studied. Furthermore, a unique carbon injection effect brought by ALS was discovered. Finally, the linear graphics printing performances of the system were evaluated. This system is expected to become a new generation of high-performance mask-free printing system for chip manufacturing. A new generation system so called AAFCVD printing system has been developed. It is a mask-free printing system with longer focal length and compatibility for AACVD.![]()

Abstract
Coatings based on ion-substituted calcium phosphate (Ca-P) have attracted great attention in the scientific community over the past decade for the development of biomedical applications. Among such Ca-P based structures, hydroxyapatite (HA) has shown significant influence on cell behaviors including cell proliferation, adhesion, and differentiation. These cell behaviors determine the osseointegration between the implant and host bone and the biocompatibility of implants. This review presents a critical analysis on the physical vapor deposition magnetron sputtering (PVDMS) technique that has been used for ion-substituted Ca-P based coatings on implants materials. The effect of PVDMS processing parameters such as discharge power, bias voltage, deposition time, substrate temperature, and post-heat treatment on the surface properties of ion-substituted Ca-P coatings is elucidated. Moreover, the advantages, short comings and future research directions of Ca-P coatings by PVDMS have been comprehensively analyzed. It is revealed that the topography and surface chemistry of amorphous HA coatings influence the cell behavior, and ion-substituted HA coatings significantly increase cell attachment but may result in a cytotoxic effect that reduces the growth of the cells attached to the coating surface areas. Meanwhile, low-crystalline HA coatings exhibit lower rates of osteogenic cell proliferation as compared to highly crystalline HA coatings developed on Ti based surfaces. PVDMS allows a close reproduction of bioapatite characteristics with high adhesion strength and substitution of therapeutic ions. It can also be used for processing nanostructured Ca-P coatings on polymeric biomaterials and biodegradable metals and alloys with enhanced corrosion resistance and biocompatibility. STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: Recent studies have utilized the physical vapor deposition magnetron sputtering (PVDMS) for the deposition of Ca-P and ion-substituted Ca-P thin film coatings on orthopedic and dental implants. This review explains the effect of PVDMS processing parameters, such as discharge power, bias voltage, deposition time, substrate temperature, and post-heat treatment, on the surface morphology and crystal structure of ion-substituted Ca-P and ion-substituted Ca-P thin coatings. It is revealed that coating thickness, surface morphology and crystal structure of ion-substituted Ca-P coatings via PVDMS directly affect the biocompatibility and cell responses of such structures. The cell responses determine the osseointegration between the implant and host bone and eventually the success of the implants.

Abstract
Nanomaterials are at the leading edge of the emerging field of nanotechnology. Their unique and tunable size-dependent properties (in the range 1-100 nm) make these materials indispensable in many modern technological applications. In this Review, we summarize the state-of-art in the manufacture and applications of inorganic nanoparticles made using continuous hydrothermal flow synthesis (CHFS) processes. First, we introduce ideal requirements of any flow process for nanoceramics production, outline different approaches to CHFS, and introduce the pertinent properties of supercritical water and issues around mixing in flow, to generate nanoparticles. This Review then gives comprehensive coverage of the current application space for CHFS-made nanomaterials including optical, healthcare, electronics (including sensors, information, and communication technologies), catalysis, devices (including energy harvesting/conversion/fuels), and energy storage applications. Thereafter, topics of precursor chemistry and products, as well as materials or structures, are discussed (surface-functionalized hybrids, nanocomposites, nanograined coatings and monoliths, and metal-organic frameworks). Later, this Review focuses on some of the key apparatus innovations in the field, such as in situ flow/rapid heating systems (to investigate kinetics and mechanisms), approaches to high throughput flow syntheses (for nanomaterials discovery), as well as recent developments in scale-up of hydrothermal flow processes. Finally, this Review covers environmental considerations, future directions and capabilities, along with the conclusions and outlook.

Abstract
Calcium hydroxyapatite Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 (HAp) is a material widely used in biomedicine, for bone implants manufacture, due to its biocompatibility. HAp has also application for environmental remediation, as it can be employed as metal removal; moreover, it has the capability of effectively adsorbing organic molecules its surface. In recent years, the photocatalytic properties of HAp have been investigated; indeed several studies report of HAp used as photocatalyst, either on its own or combined with other photocatalytic materials. Although in the majority of cases the activity was induced by UV light, some reports of visible light-activated materials were reported. Here we present a critical review of the latest developments for HAp-based photocatalysts; the materials discussed are undoped single phase HAp, doped HAp and HAp-containing composites. For undoped single phase HAp, the possible surface treatment and lattice defects which can lead to a photoactive material are discussed. Considering doped HAp, the use of Ti4+ (the most common dopant) is described, with particular attention to the effects that this metal have on the characteristics of the material (i.e. crystallinity) and on its photocatalytic behaviour. The use of other dopants is also discussed. For the multiphasic materials, the combination of HAp with other photocatalysts is discussed, mainly but not only with titanium dioxide TiO2. Overall, HAp is a compound with high potential as photocatalyst; this property, combined with its capability for heavy metal removal, makes it a multifunctional material for environmental remediation. As future perspectives, further studies, based on the results obtained until present, should be performed, to improve the performance of the materials and/or shift the band gap into the visible. The use of other dopants and/or the combination with other photocatalysts, for instance, are features which is worth exploring.
