The integration of 1 and polymer matrices leads to the fabrication of 1@polymer MMMs, which can be used in the detection of pH and folic acid. Powder samples of 1 also show potential for application in fingerprint identification.

Three new metal coordination polymers of bifunctional imidazolate/tetrazolate bridges: the only example of a three-dimensional framework based on rare [Co4(μ3-OH)2(μ2-Cl)2]4+ mixed oxo-chloro-clusters

Three new metal coordination polymers [Ni(μ₂-L)₂(H₂O)₂]_n(1, HL = 1-tetrazole-4-imidazole-benzene), [Co(μ₂-L)₂]_n (2), and [Co₄(μ₃-OH)₂(μ₂-Cl)₂(μ₅-L)₂(μ₂-L)₂]_n·7nH₂O (3) were hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. 1 displays a neutral [Ni(μ₂-L)₂(H₂O)₂]_n chain built up from the Ni²⁺ ions bridged by deprotonated L⁻ ligands, while 2 shows another rare neutral [Co(μ₂-L)₂]_n chain based on Co²⁺ ions connected by two different coordination modes of the L⁻ ligand. 3 exhibits a rare [Co₄(μ₃-OH)₂(μ₂-Cl)₂]⁴⁺ mixed oxo-chloro-cluster-based three-dimensional framework with large elliptical channels, which are filled by unprecedented chilopod [(H₂O)₇]_n chains. Both 1 and 2 show antiferromagnetic behavior, while 3 exhibits unusual spin-canting.

The interconnection of rare [Co₄(μ₃-OH)₂(μ₂-Cl)₂]⁴⁺ mixed oxo-chloro-clusters and bifunctional bridges gives a new three-dimensional framework with unusual spin-canting behavior.

Three-Dimensional Zn(II) Complex Based on 2-[(1H-Imidazol-1-yl)Methyl]-6-Methyl-1H- Benzimidazole and Aliphatic Carboxylate

The metal–organic complex {[Zn(immb)(suc)]·H2O}n [immb = 2-[(1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl]-6-methyl-1H-benzimidazole, H2suc = succinic acid] has been prepared and its crystal structure determined. Its fluorescence and thermogravimetric data have also been obtained.

Synthesis of M-UiO-66 (M = Zr, Ce or Hf) employing 2,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid as a linker: defect chemistry, framework hydrophilisation and sorption properties

MOFs of general composition [M₆(OH)₄(O)₄(PDC)_6−x(Cl)_2x(H₂O)_2x] with M = Zr, Ce, Hf; and 0 ≤ x ≤ 2 were obtained and characterised in detail.

A novel 3-D photoluminescent cuprous chloride polymer based on bifunctional imidazolate/tetrazolate bridges

The interconnection of rare [Cu₂Cl]⁺cations and multidentate 1-tetrazole-4-imidazole-benzene bridging ligands gives a novel 3-D cuprous chloride polymer with a bimodalfsc-3,5-Cmce-2 topological type (L⁻ligand and Cu⁺ion: orange and blue).

A one-dimensional zinc(II) coordination polymer with a three-dimensional supramolecular architecture incorporating 1-[(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)methyl]-1H-tetrazole and adipate

The synthesis of coordination polymers or metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) has attracted considerable interest owing to the interesting structures and potential applications of these compounds. It is still a challenge to predict the exact structures and compositions of the final products. A new one-dimensional coordination polymer, catena-poly[[[bis{1-[(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)methyl]-1H-tetrazole-κN³}zinc(II)]-μ-hexane-1,6-dicarboxylato-κ⁴O¹,O^1':O⁶,O^6'] monohydrate], {[Zn(C₆H₈O₄)(C₉H₈N₆)₂]·H₂O}_n, has been synthesized by the reaction of Zn(Ac)₂ (Ac is acetate) with 1-[(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)methyl]-1H-tetrazole (bimt) and adipic acid (H₂adi) at room temperature. In the polymer, each Zn^II ion exhibits an irregular octahedral ZnN₂O₄ coordination geometry and is coordinated by two N atoms from two symmetry-related bimt ligands and four O atoms from two symmetry-related dianionic adipate ligands. Zn^II ions are connected by adipate ligands into a one-dimensional chain which runs parallel to the c axis. The bimt ligands coordinate to the Zn^II ions in a monodentate mode on both sides of the main chain. In the crystal, the one-dimensional chains are further connected through N-H...O hydrogen bonds, leading to a three-dimensional supramolecular architecture. In addition, the title polymer exhibits fluorescence, with emissions at 334 and 350 nm in the solid state at room temperature.

Dicarboxylate ligand-modulated assembly of new luminescent zinc(ii) coordination polymers with in situ formed tetrazole ligands: an experimental and theoretical study

In situ hydrothermal reactions of 4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)benzonitrile, Zn(NO₃)₂ and NaN₃ with H₂DPA or H₂PYDC gave rise to two new zinc(ii) coordination polymers, which exhibit different intriguing architectures and photoluminescence properties.
