Abstract
Emerging contaminants are diverse ecotoxic materials requiring unique treatment for removal. Asphaltenes are environmentally hazardous carbon-rich solid waste product of the petroleum industry. In the current work, asphaltene-derived activated carbon (AC) was loaded with silver (Ag/AC) and used to remove amoxicillin (AMX) and tetracycline (TC) from aqueous phase. The prepared Ag/AC was characterised using FESEM, FTIR, XRD and surface area analysis. The FESEM micrographs confirmed the spherical silver nanoparticle-laden porous AC, and the BET surface area was found to be 213 m2/g. Batch adsorption studies were performed, and the equilibrium data were fit into adsorption isotherm and kinetic models. The Ag/AC exhibited superior monolayer adsorption capacity of 1012 mg/g and 770 mg/g for AMX and TC, respectively. The continuous column studies were also performed to evaluate the breakthrough parameters. Furthermore, the antimicrobial activity of the adsorbent was evaluated using zone of inhibition studies. Ag/AC was found to have an 8-mm-diameter zone of microbial inhibition. The obtained results showed that Ag/AC was a promising material for the removal of antibiotics and inhibition of resistance-developed mutated microbes in effluent water.

Abstract
In this current work, two fresh transition metal coordination polymers (CPs) have been created with the reaction between terphenyl-3,3″,5,5″-tetracarboxylic acid (H4L), the symmetrical rigid carboxylic acid ligand and the relevant metal salts under the reaction conditions of solvothermal, and the chemical compositions of the compounds respectively are {[Cu2(TPTC) (DMF)2(H2O)]·2DMF·2H2O} (2) and {[Zn (TPTC) (1,2-bimb)2]·4(H2O)}n (1, bimb = 1,2-bis((1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl)benzene). Moreover, the prevention and nursing values of the compound on postoperative infection was explored and their corresponding mechanism also was investigated. Firstly, enzyme linked immunosorbent assay kit (ELISA) was employed to detect the release of inflammatory cytokines into plasma. Additionally, the expression of the bacterial survival genes was determined via exploiting the real time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) after treated with the compound.

Abstract
Abstract
Two new Cu(ii)-based coordination polymers (CPs) with the chemical formulae of [CuL(bimmb)0.5]
n
(1, bimmb is 4-bis(imidazole-1-ylmethyl)benzene) and [CuL(bbibp)]
n
(2, bbibp is 4,4'-bis(benzoimidazo-1-yl)biphenyl) have been successfully prepared by the reaction of 3,3'-azodibenzoic acid (H2L) ligand and metal salt Cu(NO3)2·3H2O in the presence of different nitrogen-donor coligands. In the bioactive evaluation experiments, the treatment activity of the prepared CPs against periodontitis was examined. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay detection was used to test interleukin-18 (IL-18) and IL-6 contents released into the gingival crevicular fluid after the treatment of above CPs, and the real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction was subsequently performed to measure the relative expression level of HmuY gene in the Porphyromonas gingivalis.

Abstract
In the current study, a Cu(II) coordination polymer (CP) has been created in success with the solvothermal reaction between an asymmetrical rigid N-heterocyclic carboxylatic acid (HL) and Cu(NO3)2·3H2O in the existence of 1,3-H2bdc, the second assistant ligand (in which 1,3-H2bdc is benzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid and HL is 1-(4-carboxylphenyl)-3-(prazin-2-yl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole), and the chemical composition of this compound is [Cu2(L)2(1,3-bdc)(H2O)2]n (1). In the biological aspect, we screened the antiproliferation activity of the Cu(II) coordination polymer on five kinds of human cancer cell lines. IC50 and MTT assay results indicated that complex 1 had a spectral antiproliferative activity against liver cancer cells, peculiarly on human HepG2 liver cancer cells. From the data of Annexin V-FITC/PI assay and ROS detection, we can find that complex 1 exerts an antitumor effect by inducing ROS generation and cell apoptosis. Caspase-3 and caspase-9 activity detection revealed that activation of caspase-3 and caspase-9 plays vital roles in HepG2 cell apoptosis. These outcomes indicate that 1 is an excellent compound in treating cancer.

Abstract
Via the employment of a mixed-ligand method, a novel Pb(II)-coordination polymer with the chemical formula of [Pb(pdc)(bdc)]·2DMF (1, H2bdc = 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid and H2pdc = 3,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid) has been produced via reaction of Pb(NO3)2 with the two organic linkers in a mixed solvent of DMF and water. Complex 1 has high photocatalytic degradation efficiency for methylene blue and rhodamine B under ultraviolet light irradiation. The mechanism of photocatalysis was hypothesized and verified in detail by the r photocatalysis reaction in the existence of the hydroxyl radical scavenger mannitol. Furthermore, the influence of the inflammatory response in the severe burns rats was evaluated. Firstly, the inflammatory response levels were assessed by measuring the content of IL-6 and TNF-α in the plasma after treated with compound. Next, the real time RT-PCR was carried out to determine the signaling pathway of NF-κB relative expression in inflammatory cells.

Abstract
A novel coordination polymer (CP) based on Zn(II) of [Zn(tptc)0.5(bpy)(H2O)]n (1) was synthesized through utilizing the 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) chelating N donors and p-terphenyl-2,2'',5'',5'''-tetracarboxylate acid (H4tptc) as the co-ligands. The measurements of the fluorescence were implemented for the complex 1 in solution and solid state, and the result reveals that 1 has a strong fluorescence and it is a sensory material with great development space to determine the trace Cr2O72- (with the detection limit of 36 ppb) in the water solutions via applying the fluorescence quenching effect. As the common disease in the orthopedic nursing, the deep vein thrombosis was the objective in this research. The weigh and length of the thrombus in the animals were measured and analyzed. In addition to this, the inflammatory response in the deep vein thrombosis animal was evaluated by RT-PCR. Molecular docking results indicate that only the carboxyl group could provide polar oxygen atoms for the formed hydrogen bonds to the protein.
