Abstract
The advancement of flexible electronics demands improved components, necessitating heat dissipation membranes (HDMs) to exhibit high thermal conductivity while maintaining structural integrity and performance stability even after extensive deformation. Herein, we have devised a laser-modulated reduction technique for graphene oxide (GO), enabling the fabrication of high-quality, large-scale, low-defect graphene, which yields high-performance HDMs after orderly deposition. The work underscores the crucial role of the laser wavelength and dispersion liquid's coupling intensity in influencing the morphology and properties of graphene. Optimal coupling effect and energy conversion are realized when a laser of 1064 nm wavelength irradiates a triethylene glycol (TEG)/N,N-Dimethylformamide (DMF) dispersion. This unique synergy generates high transient energy, which facilitates the deprotonation process and ensures a swift, comprehensive GO reduction. In contrast to conventional water-based laser reduction methods, the accelerated reaction magnifies the size of the graphene sheets by mitigating the ablation effect. After membrane construction with an ordered structure, the corresponding membrane exhibits a high thermal conductivity of 1632 W m-1 K-1, requiring only ∼1/10 of the total preparation time required by other reported methods. Remarkably, the resulting HDM demonstrates superior resilience against creasing and folding, maintaining excellent smoothness and negligible reduction in thermal conductivity after violent rubbing. The combination of exceptional flexibility and thermal conductivity in HDMs paves the way for long-term practical use in the flexible electronics industry.

Abstract
Graphene/polydopamine aerogels (GPDXAG, where X represents the weight ratio of DA·HCl to GO) were prepared by the chemical reduction of graphene oxide (GO) using dopamine (DA) and l-ascorbic acid as reducing agents. During the gelation process, DA was polymerized to form polydopamine (PDA). The introduction of PDA in the gelation of aerogels led to a deeper reduction of GO and stronger interactions between graphene nanosheets forced by covalent cross-linking and noncovalent bonding including π-π stacking and hydrogen bonding. The weight ratio of DA·HCl to GO influencing the formation and morphology of GPDXAG was explored. With the increasing content of DA in gelation, the reduction of GO and the cross-linking degree of graphene nanosheets were enhanced, and the resulting GPDXAG had a more regular pore distribution. Additionally, introducing PDA into GPDXAG improved its hydrophobicity because of the adhesion of PDA to a network of aerogels. GPDXAG exhibited a higher removal efficiency for organic pollutants than the controlled graphene aerogels (GAG). Specifically, the adsorption capacity of GPDXAG for organic solvents was superior to that of GAG, and organic solvent was completely separated from the oil/water mixture by GPDXAG. The equilibrium adsorption capacity of GPDXAG for malachite green (MG) was measured to be 768.50 mg/g, which was higher than that for methyl orange (MO). In MG/MO mixed solutions, aerogels had obvious adsorption selectivity for the cationic dye. The adsorption mechanism of aerogels for MG was also discussed by simulating adsorption kinetic models and adsorption isothermal models.

Abstract
The surface properties and microstructure of graphene oxide (GO)-based membranes are both crucial for enhanced nanofiltration performance. Herein, a GO nanofiltration membrane is fabricated with regulatable surface properties and microstructure via a facile two-step impregnation in KOH and following HCl aqueous solutions. The type and number of oxygen-containing groups in GO membranes change with fewer C-O-C/C-OH and C═O but more COOH groups, and they are readily regulated by alkaline treatment time, which enables enhanced surface hydrophilicity and larger surface ζ potentials. Meanwhile, a few tiny defects are present in the GO sheets, which could increase the number of pores and decrease the length of water nanochannels. Such surface properties and microstructure together determine the excellent nanofiltration performance of the GO membranes with fast and selective water permeation, e.g., ∼99.5% rejection toward CBB G250 and flux of 56.9 ± 1.0 L m-2 h-1. This work provides insights into the design of high-performance two-dimensional laminar membranes.

Abstract
Graphene-based nanomaterials (GBnMs) are currently regarded as a critical building block for the fabrication of membranes for water purification due to their advantageous properties such as easy surface modification of functional groups, adjustable interlayer pore channels for solvent transportation, robust mechanical properties, and superior photothermal capabilities. By combining graphene derivatives with other emerging materials, heteroatom doping and rational design of a three-dimensional network can enhance water transportation and evaporation rates through channels of GBnM laminates and such layered structures have been applied in various water purification technologies. Herein, this mini-review summarizes recent progress in the synthesis of GBnMs and their applications in water treatment technologies, specifically, nanofiltration (NF) and solar desalination (SD). Abstract
There has been a growing interest in water purification by graphene oxide (GO) laminate membranes due to their exceptional hydrophilicity, high throughput, and extraordinary separation performance originating from their two-dimensional and well-defined nanostructure. However, the swelling and stability in an aqueous environment are areas of concern for the GO laminate membranes. Here, a novel methylimidazolium ionic liquid-reduced GO (mimG)-assembled GO laminate membrane (mimG-GO) with remarkable stability was fabricated by a vacuum-assisted strategy for water purification. Methylimidazolium-based ionic liquid-reduced graphene oxide (mimG) was prepared by a facile nucleophilic ring-opening mechanism. Fabricated membranes were thoroughly characterized for stability, structural, permeance, and rejection properties in an aqueous environment. A combination of cationic mimG and GO nanosheets improves membrane stability in the aqueous environment via cation-π interactions and creates nanofluidic channels for facile water transport while yielding significant enhancement in the salt and dye separation performance. The pore size and the number of nanofluidic channels were precisely controlled via material deposition and laminate thickness to remove salts from water. The mimG-GO laminate membrane containing 72.2 mg m-2 deposition showed a permeance of 14.9 LMH bar-1, 50% higher than 9.7 LMH bar-1 of the neat GO laminate membrane, in addition to an increase in Na2SO4 salt rejection from 46.6 to 77.4%, overcoming the flux-rejection trade-off. The mimG-GO laminate membrane also rejected various anionic dyes (i.e., 99.9% for direct red 80 (DR 80), 96.8% for reactive black 5 (RB 5), and 91.4% for methyl orange (MO)). The mimG-GO laminate membrane containing 361.0 mg m-2 deposition showed the highest rejection for Na2SO4 (92.1%) and 99.9% rejection for DR 80, 99.0% rejection for RB 5, and 98.1% rejection for MO dyes keeping a flux of 2.6 LMH bar-1. Partial reduction and covalent grafting of ionic liquid moieties on GO helped to enhance the cation-π interaction between GO laminates, which showed enhanced stability, frictionless water transport, with high salt and dye rejection. Moreover, a simultaneous improvement in water permeance and solute rejection reveals the great potential of ionic liquid-functionalized GO laminate membranes for water-based applications.

Abstract
A sulfophenyl-functionalized reduced graphene oxide (SrGO) membrane is prepared. The SrGO membranes have a high charge density in water and could provide many atomically smooth nanochannels, because of their strong ionized-SO3H groups and low oxygen content. Therefore, the SrGO membranes have an excellent performance in terms of high permeance and high rejection ability. The permeance of SrGO membranes could be up to 118.2 L m−2 h−1 bar−1, which is 7.6 times higher than that of GO membrane (15.5 L m−2 h−1 bar−1). Benefiting from their good electrical conductivity, the SrGO membranes could also function as an electrode and demonstrate a significantly increased rejection toward negatively charged molecules and positively charged heavy metal ions such as Cu2+, Cr3+ and Cd2+, if given an appropriate negative potential. The rejection ratios of these metal ions can be increased from <20% at 0 V to >99% at 2.0 V. This is attributed to the enhanced electrostatic repulsion between the SrGO membrane and the like-charged molecules, and the increased electrostatic adsorption and electrochemical reduction in these heavy metal ions on the membranes. This study is expected to contribute to efficient water treatment and the advance of graphene-based membranes.

Abstract
Development of efficient absorbent materials for oil spillage clean-up and environmental pollution remediation is highly desired but remains a challenge. In this work, superhydrophobic/superoleophilic polysulfone based ZIF-7 composite (SPZ) foams were fabricated via chemical modification of polysulfone and integrating with hydrophobic coin-shaped ZIF-7 particles. The synergistic approaches provided the SPZ foams with high porosity, low density and superhydrophobic/superoleophilic features (θwater=162.3°, θoil=0°) and outstanding self-cleaning property. The as-prepared SPZ foams exhibited highly selective absorption capacity (up to 3800 wt%) for various kinds of oils and organic solvents. Furthermore, the SPZ foams still maintained 95.2% of its pristine absorption capacity and the θwater remained at 143.6° after ten absorption/distillation cycles. The SPZ foam showed outstanding separation ability towards different types of emulsions with separation efficiency all above 97%. The high oil/water separation efficiency and robust reusability made the SPZ foams promising absorbent in dealing with practical oil spills.

Abstract
Photocatalytic materials can be used as self-cleaning functional materials to alleviate the irreversible fouling of ultrafiltration membranes. In this work, the small size g-C3N4/Bi2MoO6 (SCB) blended polysulfone (PSF) ultrafiltration membranes was fabricated by hydrothermal and phase inversion methods. As a functional filler of ultrafiltration membranes, the small size g-C3N4 nanosheet decorated on the surface of Bi2MoO6 can enhance the photocatalytic performance for bovine serum albumin (BSA) degradation, and remove irreversible fouling under visible light irradiation. In addition, the introduction of SCB microspheres into PSF matrix obviously increased the porosity of ultrafiltration membranes. Therefore, the SCB-PSF ultrafiltration membranes displayed excellent antifouling performance (flux recovery ratio is 82.53%) and BSA rejection rates (94.77%). SCB-PSF also had high photocatalytic self-cleaning activity, indicating excellent application prospects in organic wastewater treatment.

Abstract
Polysulfone nanocomposite foams containing variable amounts of graphene nanoplatelets (0-10 wt%) were prepared by water vapor-induced phase separation (WVIPS) and supercritical CO2 (scCO2) dissolution. WVIPS foams with two ranges of relative densities were considered, namely, between 0.23 and 0.41 and between 0.34 and 0.46. Foams prepared by scCO2 dissolution (0.0-2.0 wt% GnP) were obtained with a relative density range between 0.35 and 0.45. Although the addition of GnP affected the cellular structure of all foams, they had a bigger influence in WVIPS foams. The storage modulus increased for all foams with increasing relative density and GnP's concentration, except for WVIPS PSU-GnP foams, as they developed open/interconnected cellular structures during foaming. Comparatively, foams prepared by scCO2 dissolution showed higher specific storage moduli than similar WVIPS foams (same relative density and GnP content), explained by the microcellular structure of scCO2 foams. As a result of the plasticizing effect of CO2, PSU foams prepared by scCO2 showed lower glass transition temperatures than WVIPS foams, with the two series of these foams displaying decreasing values with incrementing the amount of GnP.

Abstract
It remains challenging for graphene oxide (GO) membranes to achieve highly efficient performance and sufficient stability for aqueous molecule/ion precise separations. Herein, a molecular-level rational structure design protocol was proposed to develop ceramic-based graphene oxide framework (GOF) membranes with significantly enhanced sieving performance and stability for efficient removal of salts and micropollutants. Via a molecular cross-linking strategy, interlayered nanochannels between GO nanosheets can be rationally designed, featuring precisely tailorable channel size, promising surface chemistries and remarkably robust stability suitable for aqueous separation. Due to a significantly decreased nanochannel size, cross-linking of TU (thiourea) molecule significantly improved monovalent salt rejection (95.6% for NaCl), outperforming existing state-of-the-art GO-based, commercial organic nanofiltration and emerging two-dimensional MoS2 membranes, while moderately decreasing water permeability. In comparison, the GOF membranes cross-linked with MPD (m-phenylenediamine) exhibited a simultaneous increase in permeability and rejection for both salts and micropollutants (21.0% and 53.3% enhancement for chloramphenicol (CAP) solution), breaking their conventional trade-off issue. Cross-linking mechanism indicates that more robust nanochannels were formed by stronger covalent bonds via dehydration condensation between amine (TU/MPD) and carboxyl groups (GO), and nucleophilic addition between amine (TU/MPD) and epoxy groups (GO). Molecule/ion separation mechanism involved size sieving (steric hindrance), electrostatic interaction, Donnan effect, and partial dehydration effect. This work provides a novel protocol for rationally designing size and surface chemistry of highly robust GO nanochannels at a subnanometer level to construct water-stable functional GOF membranes with enhanced sieving performance for water treatment applications.

Abstract
Removal of soluble organic and inorganic contaminants from wastewater to produce clean water has received much attention recently. However, the simultaneous enhancement of water permeability and removal efficiency is still a challenge for filtration membranes. Here, we present a new kind of nanocomposite paper (CSH/CNF) consisting of calcium silicate hydrate (CSH) nanosheets and cellulose nanofibers (CNFs), and demonstrate the rapid water filtration and highly efficient contaminant (e.g., dyes, proteins, and metal ions) adsorption properties. The CNFs can serve as the bridging material to connect the CSH nanosheets to form a porous network structure and vital channels in the CSH/CNF paper for rapid water transportation. The weight ratio of CSH nanosheets in the paper is up to 75–85%. The weight ratio of CSH nanosheets has a significant effect on the water permeability and removal efficiency. The water permeability of the CSH/CNF paper with 82.5 wt% CSH nanosheets reaches as high as 312.7 L m−2 h−1 bar−1, which is about 14.7 times that of the CSH/CNF paper with 75 wt% CSH nanosheets. Because of the high specific surface area and abundant adsorption sites of CSH nanosheets, the CSH/CNF paper with 82.5 wt% CSH nanosheets exhibits high adsorption capacities and removal efficiencies for methyl blue (242.6 mg g−1, 97.3%), bovine serum albumin (289.2 mg g−1, 98.5%) and Pb2+ ions (366.2 mg g−1, 98.2%). The CSH/CNF nanocomposite paper holds great potential for application in environmental wastewater purification. A nanocomposite paper with high water permeability and removal efficiency was prepared for the removal of organic and inorganic contaminants by filtration.![]()
