Abstract
Porous aromatic frameworks (PAFs) show promising potential in anionic conduction due to their high stability and customizable functionality. However, the insolubility of most PAFs presents a significant challenge in their processing into membranes and subsequent applications. In this study, continuous PAF membranes with adjustable thickness were successfully created using liquid-solid interfacial polymerization. The rigid backbone and the stable C-C coupling endow PAF membrane with superior chemical and dimensional stabilities over most conventional polymer membranes. Different quaternary ammonium functionalities were anchored to the backbone through flexible alkyl chains with tunable length. The optimal PAF membrane exhibited an OH- conductivity of 356.6 mS ⋅ cm-1 at 80 °C and 98 % relative humidity. Additionally, the PAF membrane exhibited outstanding alkaline stability, retaining 95 % of its OH- conductivity after 1000 hours in 1 M NaOH. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first application of PAF materials in anion exchange membranes, achieving the highest OH- conductivity and exceptional chemical/dimensional stability. This work provides the possibility for the potential of PAF materials in anionic conductive membranes.

Abstract
Anion-exchange-membrane fuel cells (AEMFCs) are a cost-effective alternative to proton-exchange-membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). The development of high-performance and durable AEMFCs requires highly conductive and robust anion-exchange membranes (AEMs). However, AEMs generally exhibit a trade-off between conductivity and dimensional stability. Here, a fluorination strategy to create a phase-separated morphological structure in poly(aryl piperidinium) AEMs is reported. The highly hydrophobic perfluoroalkyl side chains augment phase separation to construct interconnected hydrophilic channels for anion transport. As a result, these fluorinated PAP (FPAP) AEMs simultaneously possess high conductivity (>150 mS cm-1 at 80 °C) and high dimensional stability (swelling ratio <20% at 80 °C), excellent mechanical properties (tensile strength >80 MPa and elongation at break >40%) and chemical stability (>2000 h in 3 m KOH at 80 °C). AEMFCs with a non-precious Co-Mn spinel cathode using the present FPAP AEMs achieve an outstanding peak power density of 1.31 W cm-2 . The AEMs remain stable over 500 h of fuel cell operation at a constant current density of 0.2 A cm-2 .

Abstract
Anion exchange membrane fuel cells (AEMFCs) attract considerable attention owing to their high-power density and potential utilization of cheap non-noble metal catalysts. However, anion exchange membranes (AEMs) still face the problems of low conductivity, poor dimensional and chemical stability. To address these issues, AEMs with clustered piperidinium groups and ether-bond-free poly(terphenylene) backbone (3QPAP-x, x = 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5) were designed. Transmission electron microscope results show that the clustered ionic groups are responsible for fabricating well-developed conductive nanochannels and restraining the swelling behavior of the membranes. 3QPAP-0.4 and 3QPAP-0.5 AEMs exhibit higher conductivity (117.5 mS cm-1, 80 °C) and lower swelling ratio than that of commercial FAA-3-50 (80.4 mS cm-1, 80 °C). The conductivity of 3QPAP-0.5 only decreased by 10.4% after treating with 1 M NaOH at 80 °C for 720 h. The Hofmann elimination degradation of the cationic groups is restrained by the long flexible alkyl chain between cations. Based on the high performance of 3QPAP-0.5, an H2-O2-type AEMFC reaches 291.2 mW cm-2 (60 °C), which demonstrates that the as-prepared AEMs are promising for application in fuel cells.
