Abstract
2,1,3-Benzochalcogenadiazoles C6 R4 N2 E (E/R; E=S, Se, Te; R=H, F, Cl, Br, I) and C6 H2 R2 N2 E (E/R'; E=S, Se, Te; R=Br, I) are 10π-electron hetarenes. By CV/EPR measurements, DFT calculations, and QTAIM and ELI-D analyses, it is shown that their molecular electron affinities (EAs) increase with decreasing Allen electronegativities and electron affinities of the E and non-hydrogen R (except Cl) atoms. DFT calculations for E/R+e⋅- →[E/R]⋅- electron capture reveal negative ΔG values numerically increasing with increasing atomic numbers of the E and R atoms; positive ΔS has a minor influence. It is suggested that the EA increase is caused by more effective charge/spin delocalization in the radical anions of heavier derivatives due to contributions from diffuse (a real-space expanded) p-AOs of the heavier E and R atoms; and that this counterintuitive effect might be of the general character.

Abstract
A range of bis-triazolylchalcogenium-BTD 3 was synthesized by a copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition of azido arylchalcogenides 1 and 4,7-diethynylbenzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole 2. Eight new compounds were obtained in moderate to good yields using 1 mol % of copper(II) acetate monohydrate under mild reaction conditions. In addition, the synthesized bis-triazolylchalcogenium-BTD 3a-3h were investigated regarding their photophysical, electrochemical, and biomolecule binding properties in solution. In general, compounds presented strong absorption bands at the 250-450 nm region and cyan to green emission properties. The redox process attributed to the chalcogen atom was observed by electrochemical analysis (CV techniques). In addition, spectroscopic studies by UV-vis, steady-state emission fluorescence, and molecular docking calculations evidenced the ability of each derivative to establish interactions with calf-thymus DNA (CT-DNA) and bovine serum albumin (BSA). The behavior presented for this new class of compounds makes them a promising tool as optical sensors for biomolecules.

Abstract
Interaction of the tetradentate redox-active 6,6'-[1,2-phenylenebis(azanediyl)]bis(2,4-di-tert-butylphenol) (H4 L) with TeCl4 leads to neutral diamagnetic compound TeL (1) in high yield. The molecule of 1 has a nearly planar TeN2 O2 fragment, which suggests the formulation of 1 as TeII L2- , in agreement with the results of DFT calculations and QTAIM and NBO analyses. Reduction of 1 with one equivalent of [CoCp2 ] leads to quantitative formation of the paramagnetic salt [CoCp2 ]+ [1].- , which was characterised by single-crystal XRD. The solution EPR spectrum of [CoCp2 ]+ [1].- at room temperature features a quintet due to splitting on two equivalent 14 N nuclei. Below 150 K it turns into a broad singlet line with two weak satellites due to the splitting on the 125 Te nucleus. Two-component relativistic DFT calculations perfectly reproduce the a(14 N) HFI constants and A∥ (125 Te) value responsible for the low-temperature satellite splitting. Calculations predict that the additional electron in 1.- is localised mainly on L, while the spin density is delocalised over the whole molecule with significant localisation on the Te atom (≥30 %). All these data suggest that 1.- can be regarded as the first example of a structurally characterised monomeric tellurium-nitrogen radical anion.

Abstract
Reduction of 2,1,3-benzotelluradiazole (3) yielded a crystalline solid that features a trimeric dianion formally composed of two [3]˙- and one 3 bridged by unusually asymmetric TeN chalcogen bonds. The solid is diamagnetic due to strong antiferromagnetic coupling, as revealed by CASSCF/CASPT2 and BS-DFT.

Abstract
Dihalogenated derivatives of 1,2,5-chalcogenadiazoles fused with benzene or heterocyclic rings are of interest as starting compounds for photovoltaic materials. The 1,2,5-chalcogenadiazole ring in these heterocycles was most commonly prepared from the corresponding ortho-diamine moiety. In this communication, 3,6-dibromopyridazine-4,5-diamine was prepared via the reaction of 4,7-dibromo[1,2,5]thiadiazolo[3,4-d]pyridazine with sodium methoxide in THF by heating at reflux for four hours. The structure of the newly synthesized compound was established by means of high resolution mass-spectrometry, 1H, 13C-NMR and IR spectroscopy, and mass-spectrometry.
