Abstract
Abstract
Since ancient times, sheep`s milk cheeses have been a part of a human diet. Currently, their consumption is of great interest due to its nutritional and health values. The aim of the article was to review the chemical composition of sheep’s milk cheeses and its main bioactive ingredients in the context of nutritional and health values. Sheep’s milk cheeses are rich in functionally and physiologically active compounds such as: vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, terpenes, sialic acid, orotic acid and L-carnitine, which are largely originate from milk. Fermentation and maturation process additionally enrich them in other bioactive substances as: bioactive peptides, γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) or biogenic amines. Studies show that sheep’s milk cheese consumption may be helpful in the prevention of civilization diseases, i.e. hypertension, obesity or cancer. However, due to the presence of biogenic amines, people with metabolic disorders should be careful of their intake.

Abstract
Sialic acids are a group of nine-carbon α-keto acids. Sialic acid exists in more than 50 forms, with the natural types discovered as N-acetylneuraminic acid (Neu5Ac), deaminoneuraminic acid (2-keto-3-deoxy-nonulononic acid or Kdn), and N-glycolylneuraminic acid (Neu5Gc). Sialic acid level varies depending on the source, where edible bird's nest (EBN), predominantly Neu5Ac, is among the major sources of sialic acid. Due to its high nutritive value and complexity, sialic acid has been studied extensively through acid, aqueous, and enzymatic extraction. Although detection by chromatographic methods or mass spectrometry is common, the isolation and recovery work remained limited. Sialic acid is well-recognised for its bioactivities, including brain and cognition development, immune-enhancing, anti-hypertensive, anticancer, and skin whitening properties. Therefore, sialic acid can be used as a functional ingredient in the various industries. This paper reviews the current trend in the biochemistry, sources, extraction, and functions of sialic acids with special reference to EBN.

Abstract
In this review, we cite references from the period between 2015 and 2020 related to the use of a flow-based system as a tool to obtain a modern analytical system for speeding up data production and improving performance. Based on a great deal of concepts for automatic systems, there are several research groups introduced in the development of flow-based systems to increase sample throughput while retaining the reproducibility and repeatability as well as to propose new platforms of flow-based systems, such as microfluidic chip and paper-based devices. Additionally, to apply a developed system for on-site analysis is one of the key features for development. We believe that this review will be very interested and useful for readers because of its impact on developing novel analytical systems. The content of the review is categorized following their applications including quality control and food safety, clinical diagnostics, environmental monitoring and miscellaneous.
