Abstract
The aim of individuals consuming health supplements is to attain a robust state through nutritional regulation. However, some unscrupulous manufacturers, motivated by profit, fraudulently incorporate drugs or unauthorized components with therapeutic effects into the product for instant product performance enhancement. The long-term use of these products may inadvertently inflict harm on human health and fail to promote nutritive healthcare. The illegal inclusion of these substances is prevalent in kidney-tonifying and sexuality-enhancing products. Developing effective analytical methods to identify these products and screen for illegal added ingredients can effectively prevent such products from reaching and remaining on the market. A target screening method for the detection and quantification of 90 phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE-5is) in 5 kinds of health products was developed and validated. The type of dietary supplements varied from tablets, capsules, and protein powder to wine and beverages. Sample preparation was completed with a one-step liquid phase extraction. The screening process of 90 PDE-5is was done efficiently within 25 min by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) using the dynamic multiple reaction monitoring (dMRM) technique. The LODs of 90 PDE-5is were detected at levels ranging from 25 to 85 ng/g or ng/mL. This novel targeting methodology was effective and can be applied to routine market supervision. Among 286 batches of samples, 8 batches were found to be positive. Three kinds of PDE-5is were first detected in healthy products. The screening method demonstrated herein will be a promising and powerful tool for rapid screening of PDE-5is.

Abstract
Enantioseparation of amino acids is considered as a challenging task due to the extreme structural similarity of their enantiomers. Herein, teicoplanin was modified with different chemical equivalents of azide groups and attached to silica particles by employing Click Chemistry for resolution of chiral amino acids for the first time. Interestingly, teicoplanin modified with 5-fold the chemical equivalent of azide groups (TK-2 CSP) exhibited superior amino acid separation ability compared to two other columns: one modified with only 1-fold the chemical equivalent of azide groups (TK-1 CSP), and the other modified with excess azide groups (TK-3 CSP). Additionally, the TK-2 CSP exhibited superior enantioselectivity when separating amino acids containing hydrophobic alkyl side chains in comparison to other teicoplanin-based CSPs. The TK-2 CSP column allows the baseline separation of 7 native amino acids. Molecular docking demonstrates that effective enantioseparation arises from distinct patterns of interaction between the host and guest molecules. Moreover, (p-methyl) phenylcarbaminoylated-teicoplanin CSP (TK-4, TK-5 CSP) were prepared by post-modification from TK-1 CSP and TK-2 CSP to isolate Fmoc-modified amino acids. This work explores the impact of various modification methods on the enantioseparation effects of host molecules and paves the way for expanding the potential applications of teicoplanin and macrocyclic glycopeptide molecules.

Abstract
Recently, deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have attracted considerable interest in analytical chemistry. This work described the enantioseparations of twenty amino alcohol drugs with several DESs based on lactobionic acid (LA) as the sole chiral selector in capillary electrophoresis (CE) firstly. Compared to the single LA system and the ionic liquid/LA synergistic system, the DES system exhibited considerably improved separations. The influences of some key parameters on separations were investigated in detail. This work also experimentally demonstrated that the carboxyl group was indispensable in the process of chiral recognition. The mechanisms of the improvements of DESs on enantioseparations were studied via ultraviolet spectroscopy. Furthermore, the proposed method was used to determine the enantiomeric purity of propranolol hydrochloride successfully. This is the first time that chiral DESs were utilized as the sole chiral selectors in CE, and this strategy has opened up a new prospect for the use of DESs in enantioseparation.

Abstract
Clenbuterol is often used as a feed additive to increase the percentage of lean meat in livestock. Meat containing clenbuterol can cause many illnesses and even death for people. In this paper, the particle growth method was used to prepare gold colloids of different sizes, and the enhanced effectiveness of gold colloids of different sizes on clenbuterol in pork was investigated. The results showed that the gold colloid with the best enhanced effectiveness for clenbuterol had a particle size of approximately 90 nm. Second, a sample collection component was designed to detect clenbuterol from bottom to top, solving the problem of poor reproducibility of Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) detection caused by different droplet sizes and shapes. Then, the influence of different volumes of samples and concentrations of aggregating compounds on the enhanced effectiveness was optimized. The results showed that, based on the sample collection components designed in this article, 5 µL of enhanced substrate, 7.5 µL of clenbuterol and 3 µL of 1 mol/L mixed detection of NaCl solution had the best enhanced performance. Finally, 88 pork samples (0.5, 1, 1.5,…, 10, 12, 14 µg/g) with different concentrations were divided into correction sets and prediction sets in a ratio of 3:1. Unary linear regression models were established between the concentration of clenbuterol residue in the pork and the intensity of the bands at 390, 648, 1259, 1472, and 1601 cm-1. The results showed that the unary linear regression models at 390, 648, and 1259 cm-1 had lower root mean square errors than those at 1472 and 1601 cm-1. The intensity of the three bands and the concentration of clenbuterol residue in the pork were selected to establish a multiple linear regression model, and the concentration of clenbuterol residue in the pork was predicted. The results showed that the determination coefficients (R2) of the correction set and the prediction set were 0.99 and 0.99, respectively. The root mean square errors (RMSE) of the correction set and the prediction set were 0.169 and 0.184, respectively. The detection limit of clenbuterol in pork by this method is 42 ng/g, which can realize the crude screening of pork containing clenbuterol in the market.

Abstract
Food that contains lean meat powder (LMP) can cause human health issues, such as nausea, headaches, and even death for consumers. Traditional methods for detecting LMP residues in meat are often time-consuming and complex and lack sensitivity. This article provides a review of the research progress on the use of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) technology for detecting residues of LMP in meat. The review also discusses several applications of SERS technology for detecting residues of LMP in meat, including the enhanced detection of LMP residues in meat based on single metal nanoparticles, combining metal nanoparticles with adsorbent materials, combining metal nanoparticles with immunizing and other chemicals, and combining the SERS technology with related techniques. As SERS technology continues to develop and improve, it is expected to become an even more widely used and effective tool for detecting residues of LMP in meat.

Abstract
The illegal use of clenbuterol seriously endangers food safety and human health. Accurate monitoring the illegal use of clenbuterol in livestock can efficiently prevent the clenbuterol residue pork products from entering the consumer market. Thus, in this study, a simple, rapid and sensitive method for the determination of clenbuterol in swine urine was developed using electromembrane extraction combined with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. It should be noted that the electromembrane extraction method presented many advantages of simple operation, fast mass transfer rate, good sample clean-up capability and less organic solvent consumption. The effect of important factors on the extraction efficiency of clenbuterol was investigated. Under the optimal conditions, good linearity was achieved for clenbuterol over the range of 1-1000 ng/mL (R2 = 0.9996). The recoveries of clenbuterol in swine urine at three spiked levels ranged from 83.7 to 110.0% with relative standard deviation values lower than 9.7% (n = 4). Limits of detection and quantification for clenbuterol were 0.07 and 0.25 ng/mL, respectively. These results suggested that the proposed method has great potential on the extraction and determination of trace analyte in complex sample matrix for monitoring the illegal use in livestock. Abstract
Screening for ″zero tolerance″ β-agonists requires broad-specificity and sensitivity methods. Herein, R-(-)-salbutamol (SAL) is chirally separated and designed as a hapten, and a monoclonal antibody (mAb) was first prepared with an IC50 of 0.27 ng/mL, which can recognize 38 β-agonists simultaneously. The broad-specificity of chiral mAb was explored by molecular simulation technology. Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) were then synthesized and applied as a signal tracer to develop a lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA). The limits of detection of MNPs-LFIA for SAL in swine urine and pork were 0.05 and 0.09 μg/kg, which was (2-125)-fold lower than that of the reported LFIAs. The recoveries were between 95.8 and 116.7%, with the coefficient of variation from 2.7 to 15.4%. Parallel analysis of 44 samples by commercial ELISA kits confirmed the reliability. Therefore, our work not only provides a broad-specificity and ultrasensitive method for β-agonists but also suggests that chirality is the new general theory that guided the rational hapten design.

Abstract
Illegal drug residues in animal derived foods are closely related to human's life and health. Studies on illegal drug residues and the metabolism, such as β2-agonists in animals have attracted more and more attention. In most cases, β2-agonists are suppliedand used astheracemate. The metabolic process and distribution of the two enantiomers in animal tissues are different. Therefore, it is very necessary to develop a simple and fast method for chiral resolution of these drugs in animal tissues. In this paper, a reliable resolution and determination method was presented using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) for fourteen enantiomers of seven β2-agonist racemates, clenbuterol (CLE), salbutamol (SAL), cimaterol (CIM), terbutaline (TER), clorprenaline (CLO), tulobuterol (TUL), penbuterol (PEN) in pork, beef, and lamb muscle samples. The samples were added the internal standard solution (IS) and extracted in the alkaline medium with acetonitrile. The further sample purification was accomplished through MCX solid phase extraction cartridge. Chromatographic chiral separation was carried out on a VancoShell chiral column (100 mm × 4.6 mm, 2.7 μm) with an isocratic mobile phase consisting of methanol and 10 mmol mL-1 ammonium formate aqueous solution (85:15, v/v). Under the optimized conditions, the resolution (R) of CIM was 2.0, CLE and PEN were 1.5, the others were all greater than 1.0. Enantiomeric determination was performed in the positive electrospray ionization mode using multiple reaction monitoring (MRM). The correlation coefficient (r) in the range of 0.2-25.0 μg L-1 was above 0.993. The average recoveries at the three spiking levels ranged from 95.3% to 117.7% with the relative standard deviation (RSD) lower than 15%. The limit of detection (LOD) and the limit of quantification (LOQ) of β2-agonist enantiomers was 0.2 μg kg-1 and 0.5 μg kg-1 respectively. The method was successfully applied in the analysis and evaluation of β2-agonist enantiomers in positive food animal muscle samples, CLE, SAL, TEB and CIM enantiomers were detected. The concentrations of the corresponding enantiomers were in the range of 1.06-17.3 μg kg-1, the lowest enantiomer fraction (EF) value was 0.42, and the highest value was 0.69. The work is expected to provide a method for chiral separation and enantiomeric determination of the further study of pharmacology, toxicity and residue elimination of β2-agonist enantiomers.

Abstract
Separations and analyses of chiral compounds are important in many fields, including pharmaceutical production, preparation of chemical intermediates, and biochemistry. High-performance liquid chromatography using a chiral stationary phase is regarded as one of the most valuable methods for enantiomeric separation and analysis because it is highly efficient, is broadly applicable, and has powerful separation capability. The focus for development of this method is the identification of novel chiral stationary phases with superior recognition performance and good stability. The present article reviews recent progress in the development of new chiral stationary phases for high-performance liquid chromatography between January 2018 and June 2021. These newly reported chiral stationary phases are divided into three categories: small organic molecule-based (cyclodextrin and its derivatives, macrocyclic antibiotics, cinchona alkaloids, and other low molecular weight chiral molecules), macromolecule-based (cellulose and amylose derivatives, chitin and chitosan derivatives, and synthetic helical polymers) and chiral porous material-based (chiral metal-organic frameworks, chiral covalent organic frameworks, and chiral inorganic mesoporous silicas). Each type of chiral stationary phase is discussed in detail.
