Abstract
In this article, a novel metal-organic framework, namely MIL-101(FeII), was firstly synthesized via a facile method. In the presence of H2O2, MIL-101(FeII) possesses excellent peroxidase-like activity toward the classical chromogenic substrate, N,N-Diethyl-p-phenylenediamine sulfate salt (DPD). The substitution of Fe2+ enhances the construction of Fe(II)-oxo nodes and accelerates electrons transfer between DPD and H2O2, thereby improving the peroxidase-mimicking catalytic activity of MIL-101(FeII) nanoenzyme. Additionally, DPD molecules could be adsorbed readily onto the surface of the nanoparticles due to the π-π interaction. The study of Michaelis constant indicates that the MIL-101(FeII) exhibits a higher affinity towards DPD (0.16 mM) in contrast to horseradish peroxidase (0.78 mM). In view of the impressive catalytic performance of MIL-101(FeII), two reliable monitoring platforms for the rapid detection of H2O2 and glucose were established with extremely low detection limits of 18.04 nM and 0.87 μM in the ranges of 40-5000 nM and 1.2-300 μM, respectively. The study of the catalytic mechanism indicates that DPD oxidation is attributed to the hydroxyl radical (·OH) produced from the decomposition of H2O2 catalyzed by MIL-101(FeII). Furthermore, the developed sensor indicates high selectivity and stability and can be effectively appropriate for the detection of H2O2 and glucose in real samples. This work not only provides a novel nanozyme with superior catalytic performance for biological analysis, but also broadens the application field of MIL-101(FeII) material.

Abstract
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are involved in drug-induced cytotoxicity by regulating cell signaling, inducing oxidative stress, and damaging the DNA and proteins. Examining ROS production in cells under the stimulation of chemotherapeutic drugs is of great importance for understanding the ROS roles and identifying the mechanism of drug-induced cytotoxicity. Here, a silver/gold (Ag/Au) nanoshell-based colorimetric and surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) dual-response nanoprobe was proposed for ROS sensing on the basis of Ag etching. In this study, as a kind of ROS, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) was detected by the prepared nanoprobe. The linear ranges of 0.5-100 μM with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.343 μM for the colorimetric determination and 1-50 μM with LOD of 0.294 μM for SERS determination were achieved. The detection of cellular ROS concentration after stimulation by cisplatin, paclitaxel, doxorubicin, and 5-fluorouracil was validated by the nanoprobe. The nanoprobe could also be used to detect the signal pathway of ROS production by cisplatin stimulation. This study provided a simple and novel dual-response nanoplatform for detecting and monitoring ROS in cells, which holds great potential for elucidating the mechanism of occurrence and treatment of ROS-involved diseases.

Abstract
Herein, a flower-shaped fluorescent probe was proposed for hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and levofloxacin (LVF) sensing based on MoOx QDs@Co/Zn-MOFs with porous structure. Both MoOx QDs and Co/Zn-MOFs exhibited peroxidase-like properties, and the combination of them greatly aroused the synergistic catalytic capabilities between them. In o-Phenylenediamine (OPD)-H2O2 system, MoOx QDs@Co/Zn-MOFs efficiently catalyzed H2O2 to produce •OH and then oxidized OPD to its oxidation product (OxOPD). The OxOPD could not only emit blue fluorescence, but also inhibit the fluorescent intensity of MoOx QDs through fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET). Moreover, when introducing LVF into the system, the fluorescent intensities of MoOx QDs increased along with the aggregation of themselves while that of OxOPD remained unchanged, which was explained by the joint behavior of FRET and photo-induced electron transfer (PET) instead of the conventional aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE). With these observation, the proposed probe was employed for H2O2 and LVF determination in biological samples with the limit of detection (LOD) of 32.60 pmol/L and 0.85 μmol/L, respectively, suggesting the method holds great promises for trace H2O2 and LVF monitoring in eco-environment.

Abstract
In this study, a simple, eco-friendly and low-cost approach was used to fabricate silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) from an aqueous extract of Gleditsia australis (GA) fruit. The nanoparticles synthesized in the optimal condition have an average size of 14 nm. The peroxidase-like activity of GA-AgNP in the oxidation of 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) in combination with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) was investigated. Further, optimal conditions for the use of peroxidase-like catalytic activity in sensing applications were identified. The colourimetric detection of H2O2 showed a linear range of 1-8 mM with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.34 mM. The oxidation of TMB (red-TMB) enables the detection of glucose, which is converted into H2O2 and gluconic acid in the presence of the enzyme glucose oxidase. The observations showed linearity from 0.05 to 1.5 mM with a LOD of 0.038 mM. Moreover, the blue colour of oxidized TMB (ox-TMB) was reduced according to ascorbic acid (AA) concentration, with a linear range of 0.03-0.14 mM and a LOD of 3.0 μM. The practical use of the sensing system for the detection of AA was studied using real fruit juice and showed good sensitivity. Hence, the easy-to-use peroxidase-like sensor provides a new platform for the detection of bioactive compounds in biological systems.

Abstract
Metal-organic framework (MOF) MOF-Fe nanosols were prepared, which exhibits strongly catalysis of the new fluorescence indicator reaction of 3, 3', 5, 5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB)-H2O2 to produce the oxidation product TMBOX. The TMBOX fluorescent probe has a strong fluorescence peak at 405 nm. After optimizing the various conditions for the determination of H2O2 system and glucose system, the linear range of fluorescence determination of H2O2 was 0.75-7.5 μM, and the detection limit was 0.3 μM. Since H2O2 is the product of glucose oxidase (GOD) catalyzed oxidation of glucose, and a simple and convenient fluorescence method was also established for glucose. The results show that the glucose concentration in the range of 0.2-20 μM has a good correlation with the fluorescence intensity, and the detection limit of glucose was 0.1 μM. This method has been used to detect the content of glucose in drinks with satisfactory results.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as a peroxidase mimic have been integrated with glucose oxidase (GOx) to achieve one-step glucose detection. However, limited by the loading amount of GOx, the performances of the developed glucose sensing assays still remain to be further improved to meet sensing requirements in diverse biological samples. Herein, with Fe3+ as the metal ion and 2-amino-benzenedicarboxylic acid as a ligand, a fluorescent Fe-based organic framework (NH2-MIL-101) with peroxidase-like activity was synthesized. Due to the large specific surface area (791.75 m2 g-1), 68 μg mg-1 GOx could be immobilized through the amidation coupling reaction, and the product was designated GOx@NH2-MIL-101. With OPD as the substrate, Gox@NH2-MIL-101 achieved highly efficient biomimetic cascade catalysis for one-step glucose detection through an inner filter effect: upon reacting with glucose, GOx@NH2-MIL-101 catalytically oxidized glucose using dissolved O2, and the produced H2O2 concurrently oxidized o-phenylenediamine (OPD) to oxidized OPD (oxOPD), accompanied by the fluorescence of GOx@NH2-MIL-101 at 456 nm being quenched and that of oxOPD at 565 nm being enhanced. With the fluorescent ratio F565/F456 used as a readout signal, a wide linear range of 0.1-600 μM was obtained, and the detection limit was 0.0428 μM. Based on the excellent selectivity and high stability of GOx@NH2-MIL-101, the developed assay was successfully applied to glucose detection in human serum and saliva, presenting potential applications in diverse biological samples and even medical diagnosis.

Abstract
Fluorescent carbon quantum dots (CQDs), which showed excitation-dependent emission characteristics, were prepared using a facile hydrothermal method. The structure and optical properties of CQDs were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and fluorescence spectroscopy. These CQDs also showed peroxidase-like activity and could catalyze the H2O2-mediated oxidation of o-phenylenediamine (OPD) to form 2,3-diaminophenazine (DAP) with an absorption peak at 420 nm. DAP exhibited an obvious fluorescence emission at 550 nm under the excitation of 360 nm. On the other hand, it decreased the fluorescence of CQDs at 450 nm via inner filter effect. The experimental results indicated that the H2O2 concentration affected the color of DAP and the fluorescence intensity of CQDs and DAP. Thus, a colorimetric and ratiometric fluorescence dual-signal method was established for measuring the concentrations of H2O2 and uric acid (UA). The effects of pH, incubation temperature, incubation time, and OPD concentration on the response were investigated. Under the conditions of pH 7.5, temperature 50 °C, incubation time 30 min, and OPD 1.5 mM, the absorbance and fluorescence intensity ratio responses were linearly dependent on UA concentration ranging from 5.0 μM to 100 μM. The limits of detection were 0.7 and 0.5 μM with a colorimetric method and ratiometric fluorescence method, respectively. More importantly, this dual responsive method has been applied to the determination of UA in urine samples with satisfactory results.
