Abstract
Optical and electronic characteristics of the graphene nanosheets (GNS) could be altered by some structural defects such as double-vacancy and Stone-Wales ones. The physisorption manner of [MPI][BF4], [MPT1][BF4], [MPT2][BF4], and [MPTT][BF4] ionic liquids on intact and defective GNS surfaces were investigated using M06-2X/cc-pVDZ computational method. Capability for adsorption on the DV and SW graphene surfaces by TILs is increased by about 1.0-4.3 and 0.4-2.0 kcal/mol respectively. The electrostatic potential of the GNS-DV surface is more negative than the GNS-SW one which enables it to interact with cation parts of the adsorbed TILs so extensively. The highest adsorption energy belongs to the [MPI][BF4]/GNS-DV system. Adsorption of the TILs on the GNS surfaces leads to a decrease in the energy of the LUMO molecular orbital as well as their energy gap of them. Results revealed that the electrical conductivity, as well as absorption spectra of the GNS surfaces, are affected by TILs adsorption and defect nature.

Abstract
Herein, a new series of bowl-shaped quadridentate ligands with a Si-N-Si-C-Si-C six-membered ring core and their manganese catalysts were designed using the density functional theory (DFT) method for the hydrogenation of unsaturated CX (XN, O) bonds. The frameworks of these ligands named by LYG (LYG = P(R1)2CH2Si(CH2)(CH3)NSi(CH3)(CH2Si(CH3)CH2P(R3)2)CH2P(R2)2) have a Si-N-Si-C-Si-C six-membered ring core at the bottom of the bowl structure and each Si atom links with one phosphorus arm (-CH2PR2). The Mn catalyst Mn(CO)-LYG was constructed to catalyze the hydrogenation of CO/CN bonds. The calculated results indicate that due to the bowl-shaped structure of LYG quadridentate ligands, these Mn catalysts could be advantageous not only in the tuneup of catalytic activity and stereoselectivity by modifying three phosphorus arms but also in the homogeneous catalyst immobilization by linking with the Si-N-Si-C-Si-C six-membered ring core using different supports. This work might provide theoretical insights to design new framework transition-metal catalysts for the hydrogenation of CX bonds.

Abstract
Organic reactors in a green solvent (water) is the goal of sustainable development. Green nanoreactors with excellent amphiphilicity and catalytic activity are strongly desired. Herein, a novel amphiphilic nanoreactor Pd@amZSM-5 with ultrasmall size has been successfully synthesized via a simple one-step oil bath method, subjected to the modification-etching-modification strategy and in situ reduction of Pd2+. Ultrasmall Pd@amZSM-5 nanoreactors (60 nm) with hierarchical structures showed outstanding amphiphilicity for forming Pickering emulsions with fine uniform droplets (50 μm). Fine droplets formed short diffusion distances, which can significantly improve the catalytic activity in biphasic reactions. Moroever, the ultrasmall Pd@amZSM-5 nanoreactors demonstrated excellent catalytic activity for the selective oxidation of alcohols in water using air as the oxidant. Alkali was not present in the reaction system. The hydrophilic aminopropyl groups on the surface of the Pd@amZSM-5 nanoreactors not only changed the affinity of the zeolite surface and provided targeting points for Pd nanoparticles but also provided an alkaline environment for the selective oxidation of alcohols. The ultrasmall Pd@amZSM-5 nanoreactors presented excellent universality for aromatic alcohols (with >90% conversion and >90% selectivity) and allylic alcohols (with 100% conversion and 100% selectivity).

Abstract
Solvent accounts for majority of the waste derived from synthetic transformations. This implies that by making changes to the solvent used by either switching to greener options, reducing the volume of solvent used, or even better avoiding the use of solvent totally will have a positive impact on the environment. Herein, the focus will be on the use of bio-based-green-solvents in C-C crosscoupling reactions highlighting the recent developments in this field of research. Emphasis in this review will be placed on developments obtained for Mizoroki-Heck, Hiyama, Stille, and Suzuki- Miyaura cross-couplings. For these cross-coupling reactions, good reaction conditions utilizing green solvents are now available.

Abstract
A conceptually novel methodology is explored for in situ recycling of nanoparticle catalysts based on transforming a conventional organic/aqueous biphasic system into a Pickering emulsion/organic biphasic system (PEOBS). The suggested PEOBS exists as two phases, with the nanoparticle catalyst "anchored" in the Pickering emulsion phase, but is "continuous" between the organic phase and the continuous phase of the Pickering emulsion. Aqueous hydrogenations are used to evaluate the reaction performances of PEOBS, and the underlying principles of PEOBS are preliminarily elaborated. The unique properties of PEOBS lead to many intriguing findings, which are unlikely to be achieved in the reported biphasic systems. PEOBS exhibits more than a fourfold enhancement in catalysis efficiency in comparison with a conventional biphasic system. Impressively, PEOBS enables the organic product to be facilely isolated through simple decantation and the nanoparticle catalyst can be recycled in situ without the need for "separation". Its recycling effectiveness is justified by ten reaction cycles without significant catalyst loss. The simple protocol, in conjunction with the stability to simultaneously achieve high catalysis efficiency and excellent catalyst recyclability, makes PEOBS a promising methodology to develop more sustainable nanocatalysis.

Abstract
Two new metal-organic compounds {[Cu3(μ3-4-ptz)4(μ2-N3)2(DMF)2](DMF)2}n (1) and {[Cu(4-ptz)2(H2O)2]}n (2) {4-ptz = 5-(4-pyridyl)tetrazolate} with 3D and 2D coordination networks, respectively, have been synthesized while studying the effect of reaction conditions on the coordination modes of 4-pytz by employing the [2 + 3] cycloaddition as a tool for generating in situ the 5-substituted tetrazole ligands from 4-pyridinecarbonitrile and NaN3 in the presence of a copper(ii) salt. The obtained compounds have been structurally characterized and the topological analysis of 1 discloses a topologically unique trinodal 3,5,6-connected 3D network which, upon further simplification, results in a uninodal 8-connected underlying net with the bcu (body centred cubic) topology driven by the [Cu3(μ2-N3)2] cluster nodes and μ3-4-ptz linkers. In contrast, the 2D metal-organic network in 2 has been classified as a uninodal 4-connected underlying net with the sql [Shubnikov tetragonal plane net] topology assembled from the Cu nodes and μ2-4-ptz linkers. The catalytic investigations disclosed that 1 and 2 act as active catalyst precursors towards the microwave-assisted homogeneous oxidation of secondary alcohols (1-phenylethanol, cyclohexanol, 2-hexanol, 3-hexanol, 2-octanol and 3-octanol) with tert-butylhydroperoxide, leading to the yields of the corresponding ketones up to 86% (TOF = 430 h(-1)) and 58% (TOF = 290 h(-1)) in the oxidation of 1-phenylethanol and cyclohexanol, respectively, after 1 h under low power (10 W) microwave irradiation, and in the absence of any added solvent or additive.
