Abstract
The activity of the sodium salts of vanadium-doped phosphomolybdic acid was assessed in the oxidative esterification reaction of benzaldehyde with hydrogen peroxide in alkyl alcohol solutions. The effect of main reaction parameters, such as temperature, catalyst load, vanadium doping level, and reactant stoichiometry, on the conversion and reaction selectivity was investigated. Among the tested heteropoly salts, Na4PMo11VO40 was the most active and selective catalyst, achieving almost complete conversion of benzaldehyde and high ester selectivity regardless of the alcohol investigated. The efficiency of the catalyst was correlated with its vanadium content. The size of the carbon chain of alcohol and the steric hindrance on the hydroxyl group played a key role in the reaction selectivity. While methyl and ethyl alcohols selectively provided the ester as the main product (ca. 90–95%) and benzoic acid as a subproduct, the other alcohols also afforded acetal, a condensation product, and benzaldehyde peroxide, an oxidation reaction intermediate, as secondary products. The use of an inexpensive, environmentally benign, and atom-efficient oxidant, mild conditions, and short reaction times were the positive aspects of this one-pot process. The activity of the sodium salts of vanadium-doped phosphomolybdic acid was assessed in the oxidative esterification reaction of benzaldehyde with hydrogen peroxide in alkyl alcohol solutions.![]()

Abstract
Five-coordinate geometry around ruthenium with highly exposed active sites has attracted intensive scientific interest due to its superior properties and extensive applications. Herein, we report a series of structurally controllable multi-Ru-bridged polyoxometalates, K5NaH10[{Ru4(H2O)n}(WO2)4(AsW9O33)4]·mH2O {1, 1-dehyd-373K, 1-dehyd-473K, 1-dehyd-573K; n = 4, m = 36; n = 4, m = 6; n = 4, m = 0; n = 0, m = 0} fabricated through a feasible assembly strategy using arsenotungstate {2, KNa12H17Cl2(As4W40O140)·29H2O} as a structure-directing unit. Systematic characterization methods identified that the six-coordinate geometry can successfully transform into five-coordinate geometry about active sites (Ru) by removing aqua ligands under high reaction temperatures. All the multi-Ru-bridged polyoxometalates demonstrated strong stability and catalytic effectiveness in the transformation of 1-(4-chlorophenyl)ethanol to 4'-chloroacetophenone under very mild conditions. 1-dehyd-573K, specifically, achieves the best catalytic effectiveness with a turnover frequency (TOF) = 25 100·h-1 owing to its unique five-coordinate geometry on the Ru sites. To our knowledge, 1-dehyd-573K outperforms other POM-based catalysts in the oxidative catalysis of 1-(4-chlorophenyl)ethanol. The heterogeneous polyoxometalates were also proven to be strongly reusable, with their structural integrities well maintained after multiple-cycle catalytic reactions.

Abstract
Herein, the geometry, electronic structure, Fe-ligand bonding nature and simulated IR spectrum of α-Keggin, lacunary Keggin, iron(ii/iii)-substituted and the important oxidized high-valent iron derivatives of Keggin type polyoxometalates have been studied using the density functional theory (DFT/OPTX-PBE) method and natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis. The effects of different Fe oxidation states (ii-vi) and H2O/OH-/O2- ligand interactions have been addressed concerning their geometry and electronic structures. It has been revealed that the d-atomic orbitals of Fe and 2p orbitals of polyoxometalate's oxygen-atoms contribute in ligand binding. Compared with other high valent species, the considered polyoxometalate system of [PW11O39(FeVO)]4-, possesses a high reactivity for oxygen transfer.

Abstract
Among a plethora of known and established oxidant in organic chemistry, hydrogen peroxide stands in a special position. It is commercially and inexpensively available, highly effective, selective, and more importantly it is compatible with current environmental concerns, dictated by principles of green chemistry. Several chemicals or their intermediates that are important in our daily life such as pharmaceuticals, flavors, fragrances, etc. are products of oxidation of alcohols. In this review, we introduce hydrogen peroxide as an effective, selective, green and privileged oxidant for the catalyzed oxidation of primary and secondary benzylic and heterocyclic alcohols to corresponding carbonyl compounds in different media such as aqueous media, under solvent-free conditions, various organic solvent, and dual-phase system.

Abstract
In this paper, Keggin-type heteropoly acids H3PMo12O40 (PMo12), H3PW12O40 (PW12) and H4SiW12O40 (SiW12) were successfully supported on silica-coated perovskite type LaMnO3 nanoparticles by a simple acid-base reaction. These novel hybrid nanomaterials (denoted as LaMnO3@SiO2/PMo12 (1), LaMnO3@SiO2/PW12 (2), and LaMnO3@SiO2/SiW12 (3)) were characterized by means of FT-IR, PXRD, inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectrometry, SEM, EDX, TEM and BET surface area analysis. Furthermore, the adsorption abilities of 1-3 were tested towards cationic methylene blue (MB) and anionic methyl orange (MO) dyes. The results revealed that the MB dye can be removed almost completely (≥98%) by adsorbents 1-3 in 1, 30 and 0.5 minutes, respectively. For the most efficient adsorbent 3, the effects of the initial concentration and the initial pH values of MB solution on its adsorption ability were examined. Furthermore, the selective adsorption of the hybrid materials towards mixed MB & MO solution was investigated. The nanomaterials 1-3 could be easily separated from the aqueous solution and reused several times without any impact on their adsorption abilities and structures.

Abstract
Catalytic oxidation of alcohols often requires the presence of expensive transition metals. Herein, it is shown that earth-abundant Fe atoms dispersed throughout a nitrogen-containing carbon matrix catalyze the oxidation of benzyl alcohol and 5-hydroxymethylfurfural by O2 in the aqueous phase. The activity of the catalyst can be regenerated by a mild treatment in H2 . An observed kinetic isotope effect indicates that β-H elimination from the alcohol is the kinetically relevant step in the mechanism, which can be accelerated by substituting Fe with Cu. Dispersed Cr, Co, and Ni also convert alcohols, demonstrating the general utility of metal-nitrogen-carbon materials for alcohol oxidation catalysis. Oxidation of aliphatic alcohols is substantially slower than that of aromatic alcohols, but addition of 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidinyloxy as a co-catalyst with Fe can significantly improve the reaction rate.

Abstract
The catalytic activity of three Keplerate POM, Mo72M30 (V, Cr and Fe), in the green epoxidation of alkenes with 30% H2O2 in water are investigated. Mo72Cr30 was shown the highest catalytic activity and efficiently reused without any loss of activity.
