Abstract
Background & Objective:
Six novel complexes of transition metal namely,
[CoLCl2(H2O)2]0.5H2O, [NiLCl2(H2O)2]0.5H2O, [CuLCl2]0.5H2O, [ZnLCl2], [PdLCl2]H2O and
[CdLCl2]H2O, where L is benzocycloheptenone thiosemicarbazone ligand, have been obtained. The
confirmation of the structures of the obtained metal chelates depends on the different spectral and
physicochemical techniques including CHN analysis, infrared spectra, molar conductivity measurement,
UV-vis, thermogravimetric analysis and magnetic moment. The infrared spectral results ascertained
that the ligand behaved as neutral bidentate connecting the metal centers via N and S atoms of
C=N and C=S groups, respectively.
Methods:
The UV-Vis, molar conductivity and magnetic susceptibility results implied that the geometrical
structures of the metal chelates are octahedral for Co(II) & Ni(II) complexes, tetrahedral for
Zn(II) & Cd(II) complexes and square planar for Cu(II) & Pd(II) complexes which have been confirmed
by molecular modeling studies.
Conclusion:
Moreover, the mode of interaction between some chosen metal complexes towards SSDNA
has been thoughtful by UV-Vis spectra and viscosity measurements. The value of the intrinsic
binding constant (Kb) for the examined compounds has been found to be lower than the binding affinity
of the classical intercalator ethedium bromide. Also, the viscosity measurements of the complexes
proved that they bind to DNA, most likely, by a non-intercalative mode like H-bonding or electrostatic
interactions.

Synthesis of Novel VO(II)-Perimidine Complexes: Spectral, Computational, and Antitumor Studies. Bioinorg Chem Appl 2018; 2018:7176040. Abstract
A series of perimidine derivatives (L1-5) were prepared and characterized by IR, 1H·NMR, mass spectroscopy, UV-Vis, XRD, thermal, and SEM analysis. Five VO(II) complexes were synthesized and investigated by most previous tools besides the theoretical usage. A neutral tetradentate mode of bonding is the general approach for all binding ligands towards bi-vanadyl atoms. A square-pyramidal is the configuration proposed for all complexes. XRD analysis introduces the nanocrystalline nature of the ligand while the amorphous appearance of its metal ion complexes. The rocky shape is the observable surface morphology from SEM images. Thermal analysis verifies the presence of water of crystallization with all coordination spheres. The optimization process was accomplished using the Gaussian 09 software by different methods. The most stable configurations were extracted and displayed. Essential parameters were computed based on frontier energy gaps with all compounds. QSAR parameters were also obtained to give another side of view about the biological approach with the priority of the L3 ligand. Applying AutoDockTools 4.2 program over all perimidine derivatives introduces efficiency against 4c3p protein of breast cancer. Antitumor activity was screened for all compounds by a comparative view over breast, colon, and liver carcinoma cell lines. IC50 values represent promising efficiency of the L4-VO(II) complex against breast, colon, and liver carcinoma cell lines. The binding efficiency of ligands towards CT-DNA was tested. Binding constant (K b) values are in agreement with the electron-drawing character of the p-substituent which offers high K b values. Also, variable Hammett's relations were drawn.

Abstract
Quantum chemical calculations are performed over BF2R (1), B(NO)2R (2), B(CN)2R (3) and B(CH3)2R (4) [R: 1-ethyl-6-fluoro-4-oxo-7-(piperazin-1-yl)-1,4-dihydroquinoline-3-carboxylate]. Mentioned boron complex with fluorine atoms which is BF2R are optimized at HF/6-31+G(d), B3LYP/6-31+G(d) and M062X/6-31+G(d) level and the best level is determined by comparison of experimental and calculated results. The best calculation level is determined as M06-2X/6-31+G(d) level. The other complexes are optimized at this level. Structural properties, IR and NMR spectrum are examined in detail. Additionally, biological activities of mentioned complexes are investigated by some quantum chemical descriptors (EHOMO, ELUMO, I, A, EGAP, η, σ, χ, CP, ω, N, ΔNmax and S) and molecular docking analyses. The interaction energies for complex (1), (2), (3) and (4) are calculated as -480.1, -443.6, -433.6 and -402.1 kJ mol-1, respectively. As a result, it is found that boron complex with fluorine atoms (BF2R) is the best candidate for anticancer drug.

Abstract
Some platinum oxime complexes are optimized at HF/CEP-31G level which has been reported as the best level for these type complexes in the gas phase. IR spectrum is calculated and the new scale factor is derived. NMR spectrum is calculated at the same level of theory and examined in detail. Quantum chemical parameters which have been mainly used are investigated and their formulas are given in detail. Additionally, selected quantum chemical parameters of studied complexes are calculated. New theoretical IC50% formulas are derived and biological activity rankings of mentioned complexes are investigated.
