Heat and Mass Transfer Analysis of Single Walled Carbon Nanotubes-Water and Multi Wall Carbon Nanotubes-Water Based Maxwell Nanofluid Flow Over Stretchable Rotating Disks

Influence of thermal radiation and magnetic field on heat transfer and flow analysis of water-CNTs type nanofluid between two stretchable revolving disks with heat generation/absorption and convective boundary condition is numerically examined in this analysis. The most extensively validated Finite element technique is employed to solve the reduced non-linear ordinary differential equations together with boundary conditions. Velocity and temperature distributions are calculated and are displayed through graphs for various values of pertinent parameters entered into the problem. Furthermore, the values of rates of change of velocity and temperature are examined in detail and are portrayed in tabular form. The values of skin friction co-efficient at both upper and lower disks elevates in the boundary layer regime with rising values of Deborah number in both nanofluids and this augmentation is higher in MWCNTs-water than SWCNTs-water based Maxwell nanofluid. Temperature of the fluid in both nanofluids deteriorates as the values of nanoparticle volume fraction parameter upsurges and this deterioration in temperature distributions is higher in MWCNTs-water than the SWCNTs-water based Maxwell nanofluid.

Heat and Mass Transfer Impact on Differential Type Nanofluid with Carbon Nanotubes: A Study of Fractional Order System

This paper is an analysis of flow of MHD CNTs of second grade nano-fluid under the influence of first order chemical reaction, suction, thermal generation and magnetic field. The fluid is flowing through a porous medium. For the study of heat and mass transfer, we applied the newly introduced differential operators to model such flow. The equations for heat, mass and momentum are established in the terms of Caputo (C), Caputo–Fabrizio (CF) and Atangana–Baleanu in Caputo sense (ABC) fractional derivatives. This shows the novelty of this work. The solutions are evaluated by employing Laplace transform and inversion algorithm. The flow in momentum profile due to variability in the values of parameters are graphically illustrated among C, CF and ABC models. It is concluded that fluid velocity showed decreasing behavior for χ, P, ℏ2, Mo, Pr, ℵ and Sc while it showed increasing behavior for Gr, Gm, κ and Ao. Moreover, ABC fractional operator presents larger memory effect than C and CF fractional operators.

Fractional blood flow in rotating nanofluid with different shapes nanoparticles in the influence of activation energy and thermal radiation

A fractional blood flow model, in the presence of magnetic nanoparticles, is considered in this work. The effects of activation energy and thermal radiation on the blood flowing in the oscillating elastic tube are studied. The nanofluid inside the tube is activated by the rotating effect of the charged particles, a constant external magnetic field, and the activation energy. The blood is assumed to be at a temperature and a concentration that vary with the speed of the particles. The study takes advantage of a model, which includes a fractional-order derivative of Caputo's type. The shape of nanoparticles and the speed of blood and the distributions of temperature and concentration are assimilated to Brownian motion and thermophoresis. They are calculated numerically using the L₁-algorithm method. The results show that the applied magnetic field and the effects of the fractional-order parameter reduce the velocity of the nanofluid and nanoparticles, which considerably affects the temperature and concentration of the fluid. It is also found that the particle shape and fractional derivative parameters significantly influence velocities and heat transfer.

Radiative MHD unsteady Casson fluid flow with heat source/sink through a vertical channel suspended in porous medium subject to generalized boundary conditions

Unsteady, incompressible flow of Casson fluid between two infinitely long upward heated walls nested in a porous medium is analyzed in this work. The mass diffusion and heat transfer phenomena are also studied in the presence of thermal radiation, magnetic field, and heat source/sink. The generalized boundary conditions in terms of continuous time-dependent functions are considered for mass, energy, and momentum fields. Fick’s law, Fourier’s law, and momentum conservation principle are adopted to formulate the mathematical equations. Analytic solution for the concentration equation is established first by adding certain unit-less quantities and then by using the Laplace method of transformation. Semi-analytic solutions are calculated by means of Stehfest’s numerical Laplace inversion algorithm for energy and velocity equations. To demonstrate the verification of those solutions, a tabular comparison is drawn. Graphical illustrations along with physical descriptions are provided to discuss the essential contribution of thermo-physical parameters in heat and mass transfer and flow of the Casson fluid. The numerical computations of Sherwood number, Nusselt number, and skin friction for various inputs of related parameters are organized in tables to investigate mass transfer rate, heat transfer rate, and shear stress respectively. It is observed that porosity of the medium and buoyancy force tend to accelerate the flow. The heat and mass transfer rates are appreciated by Prandtl and Schmidt numbers respectively. Furthermore, radiation parameter and Grashof number significantly minimize the shear stress.

Influence of Ramped Wall Temperature and Ramped Wall Velocity on Unsteady Magnetohydrodynamic Convective Maxwell Fluid Flow

This article provides a comprehensive analysis regarding effects of ramped wall temperature and ramped wall velocity on incompressible time-dependent magnetohydrodynamic flow of Maxwell fluid. The flow is due to free convection and bounded to an infinite vertical plate embedded in porous medium. Solutions of mass, shear stress, and energy fields are computed symmetrically by introducing some suitable non-dimensional parameters along with the Laplace transformation technique. The expression for the Nusselt number is also calculated. A comparison between solutions incorporating isothermal temperature and ramped wall temperature conditions is also executed to examine the profile differences. A graphical study is performed to highlight the influence of parameters on mass flow and energy transfer.

Heat transfer enhancement in free convection flow of CNTs Maxwell nanofluids with four different types of molecular liquids

This article investigates heat transfer enhancement in free convection flow of Maxwell nanofluids with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) over a vertically static plate with constant wall temperature. Two kinds of CNTs i.e. single walls carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and multiple walls carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) are suspended in four different types of base liquids (Kerosene oil, Engine oil, water and ethylene glycol). Kerosene oil-based nanofluids are given a special consideration due to their higher thermal conductivities, unique properties and applications. The problem is modelled in terms of PDE's with initial and boundary conditions. Some relevant non-dimensional variables are inserted in order to transmute the governing problem into dimensionless form. The resulting problem is solved via Laplace transform technique and exact solutions for velocity, shear stress and temperature are acquired. These solutions are significantly controlled by the variations of parameters including the relaxation time, Prandtl number, Grashof number and nanoparticles volume fraction. Velocity and temperature increases with elevation in Grashof number while Shear stress minimizes with increasing Maxwell parameter. A comparison between SWCNTs and MWCNTs in each case is made. Moreover, a graph showing the comparison amongst four different types of nanofluids for both CNTs is also plotted.
