Abstract
Utilizing environmentally acceptable substances as inhibitors of metal corrosion is one of the most important strategies to reduce corrosion. In alkaline solutions (1.0 M KOH), the influence of albumin egg as a green corrosion inhibitor for copper was studied via a mix of experimental and theoretical investigations. Cyclic voltammetry (CV), open circuit potential (OCP), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), potentiodynamic polarization (PDP), AFM, and SEM/EDX methods were all utilized to examine the inhibitory effect of albumin egg. By increasing the amount of albumin egg in the corrosive solution, the inhibition efficiency is increased. The albumin egg is a highly effective cathodic type inhibitor, according to electrochemical tests, with an inhibition efficiency of up to 94%. It also follows the Langmuir isotherm during adsorption. Investigations using SEM/EDX and AFM show that the albumin egg can create an adsorption layer on the surface enabling the shielding of the copper surface from harmful ions. In order to better understand the molecular structure of the albumin egg and its inhibitory action against corrosion, computational and molecular dynamics simulation techniques were also employed for calculating the electronic characteristics of inhibitor molecules. Calculations were made for total energy (TE), change in total energy (DET), energy gap (ΔE), ELUMO, EHOMO, dipole moment (D), and softness (δ). Utilizing the Monte Carlo simulation, the mechanism of albumin egg adsorption on the surface of Cu was investigated. The theoretical outcomes were found to confirm the empirical results.

Abstract
Molecular modelling of organic compounds using computational software has emerged as a powerful approach for theoretical determination of the corrosion inhibition potential of organic compounds. Some of the common techniques involved in the theoretical studies of corrosion inhibition potential and mechanisms include density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamics (MD) and Monte Carlo (MC) simulations, and artificial neural network (ANN) and quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) modeling. Using computational modelling, the chemical reactivity and corrosion inhibition activities of organic compounds can be explained. The modelling can be regarded as a time-saving and eco-friendly approach for screening organic compounds for corrosion inhibition potential before their wet laboratory synthesis would be carried out. Another advantage of computational modelling is that molecular sites responsible for interactions with metallic surfaces (active sites or adsorption sites) and the orientation of organic compounds can be easily predicted. Using different theoretical descriptors/parameters, the inhibition effectiveness and nature of the metal-inhibitor interactions can also be predicted. The present review article is a collection of major advancements in the field of computational modelling for the design and testing of the corrosion inhibition effectiveness of organic corrosion inhibitors.

Abstract
AbstractThe corrosion behavior of copper in 0.1 M aqueous sulfuric acid medium has been studied using potentiodynamic polarization measurements, quantum chemical calculations, and molecular dynamic simulations in the presence and absence of (2E,5E)-2,5-dibenzylidenecyclopentanone (M1) and (2E,5E)-bis[(4-dimethylamino)benzylidene]cyclopentanone (M2). The compounds were freshly prepared in high yields via the Claisen–Schmidt reaction between the cyclopentanone and the corresponding aryl aldehyde. The results from the potentiodynamic measurements imply that M1 and M2 act as mixed inhibitors due to their adsorption on the copper surface. The more pronounced corrosion inhibition performance of the M2 molecule in comparison to M1 was related to the fact that this molecule contains two basic nitrogen atoms (in 4-dimethylamino group).

Abstract
The pipeline system in the oil and gas industry is the heart for transportation of crude and refined petroleum. Nevertheless, continuous exposure of the pipeline surfaces to impurities and sources of corrosion such as sulfur and chromate is totally unavoidable. Vast employment of commercial corrosion inhibitors to minimize the corrosion is being restrained due to toxicity towards the environment. The emergence of “green” chemistry has led to the use of plant extracts and fruit wastes which have proven to be good corrosion inhibitors. This paper aims to provide insight into carrying out further investigation under this research theme for accurate inhibition efficiency measurement.

Abstract
The design and synthesis of a series of theophylline derivatives containing 1,2,3-triazole moieties are presented. The corrosion inhibition activities of these new triazole-theophylline compounds were evaluated by studying the corrosion of API 5 L X52 steel in 1 M HCl medium. The results showed that an increase in the concentration of the theophylline-triazole derivatives also increases the charge transference resistance (R ct) value, enhancing inhibition efficiency and decreasing the corrosion process. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy under static conditions studies revealed that the best inhibition efficiencies (approx. 90%) at 50 ppm are presented by the all-substituted compounds. According to the Langmuir isotherm, the compounds 4 and 5 analysed exhibit physisorption-chemisorption process, with exception of the hydrogen 3, bromo 6 and iodo 7 substituted compounds, which exhibit chemisorption process. The corrosion when submerging a steel bar in 1 M HCl was studied using SEM-EDS. This experiment showed that the corrosion process decreases considerably in the presence of 50 ppm of the organic inhibitors. Finally, the theoretical study showed a correlation between EHOMO, hardness (η), electrophilicity (W), atomic charge and the inhibition efficiency in which the iodo 7 substituted compound presents the best inhibitor behaviour.

Abstract
This review describes the contemporary development applications on scientific areas of acyclic and cyclic Schiff bases and their complexes with an emphasis on the author’s contribution to the field. After a short historical introduction, this manuscript is divided into two main parts. In the first section, Schiff bases are reviewed for their biological activities including antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant, cytotoxic, and enzymatic activities as well as their interaction with single-stranded-DNA which have shown remarkable activities in each region of research. The second part deals with the corrosion of metal and its alloys in corrosive environments and their organic inhibitors. The main section of this part is to investigate the different chemical structures for Schiff bases used in such aggressive solution to protect metals. Knowing the maximum corrosion efficiency or bioactivity of a specific chemical structure in a specific application environment is helpful for choosing the most appropriate compound.
