Abstract
The present work reports the application of density functional theory (DFT) at B3LYP with various basis sets which provide the relationship between the structural and spectral properties of 4-ethoxy-2, 3-difluoro benzamide (4EDFB). A Complete vibrational analysis has been performed at the density functional theory (DFT) method with various basis sets in the ground state. The results of vibrational wave numbers are in good agreement with the experimental spectra (Infrared and Raman). Energy gap of the molecule is evaluated using frontier molecular orbital energies (HOMO-LUMO). The frontier energy gap value reveals the chemical reactivity and intermolecular charge transfer occur within the molecule. Global chemical descriptors provide the local and global softness and local reactivity parameters used to identify the nucleophilic and electrophilic behavior of a specific site within the compound. The dimer structure is performed to evaluate the intermolecular hydrogen bond (O-H-O). The title molecule is capable of receiving second harmonic generation (SHG) is due to high value of hyperpolarizability indicates the NLO activity of the molecule. Apart from NLO entities, aromaticity and the molecular electrostatic potential surface (MEP) explain the hydrogen bonding and provide the reactive behavior of the molecule. The Mulliken population analysis leads to redistribution of electron density in the ring.

Abstract
Molecular complexes between glycolic acid and nitrogen were studied in a low-temperature argon matrix with FTIR spectroscopy, and supported by MP2 and BLYPD3 calculations. The calculations indicate 11 and 10 stable complex structures at the MP2 and BLYPD3 levels of theories, respectively. However, only one hydrogen-bonded complex structure involving the most stable SSC conformer of glycolic acid was found experimentally, where the nitrogen molecule is bound with the carboxylic OH group of the SSC conformer. The complex shows a rich site structure variation upon deposition of the matrix in different temperatures and upon annealing experiments, which provide interesting prospects for site-selective chemistry.

Abstract
Combined experimental and theoretical studies were conducted on the molecular structure and vibrational spectra of 4-AminoPhthalhydrazide (APH). The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of APH were recorded in the solid phase. The molecular geometry and vibrational frequencies of APH in the ground state have been calculated by using the ab initio HF (Hartree-Fock) and density functional methods (B3LYP) invoking 6-311+G(d,p) basis set. The optimized geometric bond lengths and bond angles obtained by HF and B3LYP method show best agreement with the experimental values. Comparison of the observed fundamental vibrational frequencies of APH with calculated results by HF and density functional methods indicates that B3LYP is superior to the scaled Hartree-Fock approach for molecular vibrational problems. The difference between the observed and scaled wave number values of most of the fundamentals is very small. A detailed interpretation of the NMR spectra of APH was also reported. The theoretical spectrograms for infrared and Raman spectra of the title molecule have been constructed. UV-vis spectrum of the compound was recorded and the electronic properties, such as HOMO and LUMO energies, were performed by time dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) approach. Finally the calculations results were applied to simulated infrared and Raman spectra of the title compound which show good agreement with observed spectra. And the temperature dependence of the thermodynamic properties of constant pressure (Cp), entropy (S) and enthalpy change (ΔH0→T) for APH were also determined.

Abstract
The FTIR and FT-Raman spectra of 2-amino-2-methyl-1,3-propanediol were recorded in the regions 4000-400cm(-1) and 4000-50cm(-1) respectively. The structural and spectroscopic data of the molecule in the ground state were calculated using Hartee-Fock and density functional method (B3LYP) with the augmented-correlation consistent-polarized valence double zeta (aug-cc-pVDZ) basis set. The most stable conformer was optimized and the structural and vibrational parameters were determined based on this. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the Potential Energy Distribution (PED) of the vibrational modes, calculated using Vibrational Energy Distribution Analysis (VEDA) 4 program. With the observed FTIR and FT-Raman data, a complete vibrational assignment and analysis of the fundamental modes of the compound were carried out. Thermodynamic properties and Mulliken charges were calculated using both Hartee-Fock and density functional method using the aug-cc-pVDZ basis set and compared. The calculated HOMO-LUMO energy gap revealed that charge transfer occurs within the molecule. (1)H and (13)C NMR chemical shifts of the molecule were calculated using Gauge-Independent Atomic Orbital (GIAO) method and were compared with experimental results.

Abstract
Zinc (II) complexes with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) naproxen (nap) and ibuprofen (ibu) were synthesized in the presence of nitrogen donor ligands (thiocyanate or azide). The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, (1)H NMR and UV-Vis spectroscopes. The binding modes of the ligands in complexes were established by means of molecular modeling of the complexes, and calculation of their IR, NMR and absorption spectra at DFT (TDDFT)/B3LYP level were studied. The experimental and calculated data verified monodentate binding through the carboxylic oxygen atoms of anti-inflammatory drugs in the zinc complexes. The calculated (1)H, FT-IR and UV-Vis data are in better agreement with the experimental results, and confirm the predicted tetrahedral structures for the Zn (II) complexes. In addition to DFT calculations of complexes, natural bond orbital (NBO) was performed at B3LYP/6-31+G(d,p) level of theory. Biological studies showed the antibacterial activity of zinc complexes against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains.

Abstract
The title salt, C6H7N2S+·I−, crystallizes with two independent cations and two anions in the asymmetric unit. In one of the cations, the dihedral angle between the pyridinium ring and the thioamide group is 28.9 (2)°; in the other it is 33.5 (2)°. In the crystal, N—H⋯S and C—H⋯S hydrogen bonds link the independent cations into pairs. These pairs form a three-dimensional network through additional N—H⋯I and C—H⋯I hydrogen bonds to the anions.

Abstract
The Schiff base compound (E)-N'-((5-nitrothiophen-2-yl)methylene)-2-phenoxyaniline has been synthesized and characterized by IR, UV-Vis, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) methods. The molecular geometry from X-ray experiment in the ground state has been compared using the density functional theory (DFT) with the 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The calculated results show that the optimized geometry can well reproduce the crystal structure, and the theoretical vibrational frequency values show good agreement with experimental values. By using TD-DFT method, electronic absorption spectra of the title compound have been predicted and a good agreement with the TD-DFT method and the experimental one is determined. The energetic behavior of the title compound in solvent media has been examined using B3LYP method with the 6-311++G(d,p) basis set by applying the Onsager and the integral equation formalism polarizable continuum model (IEF-PCM). The predicted nonlinear optical properties of the title compound are greater than ones of urea. In addition, DFT calculations of the title compound, molecular electrostatic potential (MEP), natural bond orbital (NBO) and thermodynamic properties were performed at B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) level of theory.

Abstract
In the present work, the experimental and theoretical vibrational spectra of 4-chlorobenzothioamide were investigated. The FT-IR (400-4000 cm(-1)) and μ-Raman spectra (100-4000 cm(-1)) of 4-chlorobenzothioamide in the solid phase were recorded. The geometric parameters (bond lengths and bond angles), vibrational frequencies, Infrared and Raman intensities of the title molecule in the ground state were calculated using ab initio Hartree-Fock and density functional theory (B3LYP) methods with the 6-311++G(d,p) basis set for the first time. The optimized geometric parameters and the theoretical vibrational frequencies were found to be in good agreement with the corresponding experimental data and with the results found in the literature. The vibrational frequencies were assigned based on the potential energy distribution using the VEDA 4 program. The dimeric form of 4-chlorobenzothioamide was also simulated to evaluate the effect of intermolecular hydrogen bonding on the vibrational frequencies. It was observed that the N-H stretching modes shifted to lower frequencies, while the in-plane and out-of-plane bending modes shifted to higher frequencies due to the intermolecular N-H···S hydrogen bond. Also, the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energies and diagrams were presented.

Abstract
In this work, experimental and theoretical study on the molecular structure and the vibrational spectra of o-chlorotoluene (OCT), m-chlorotoluene (MCT) and p-chlorotoluene (PCT) are presented. The vibrational frequencies of these compounds were obtained theoretically by ab initio HF and DFT/B3LYP calculations employing the standard 6-311++G(d,p) basis set for optimized geometries and were compared with Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) in the region of 400-4000 cm(-1) and with Raman spectra in the region of 100-4000 cm(-1). Complete vibrational assignment, analysis and correlation of the fundamental modes for these compounds have been carried out. The vibrational harmonic frequencies were scaled using scale factors, yielding a good agreement between the experimentally recorded and the theoretically calculated values.

Abstract
The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 7-amino-8-oxo-3-vinyl-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid (7AVCA) were recorded in the region 4000-400 cm(-1) and 3500-10 cm(-1), respectively. Quantum chemical calculations of energies, geometrical structure and vibrational wavenumbers were carried out by ab initio HF and density functional theoretical methods invoking 6-311G(d,p) basis set. The differences between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals are very small. The electric dipole moment (μ) and the first order hyperpolarizability (β0) values have been computed quantum mechanically. The calculated results show that 7AVCA may have microscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior with non-zero values. A detailed interpretation of the FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 7AVCA is reported. The theoretical IR and Raman spectra of 7AVCA have also been constructed. The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies show that the charge transfer occurs within the molecule.

Abstract
The Raman spectrum of terbutaline hemisulphate is reported for the first time, and molecular assignments are proposed on the basis of ab initio BLYP DFT calculations with a 6-31G* basis set and vibrational frequencies predicted within the quasi-harmonic approximation; these predictions compare favourably with the observed vibrational spectra. Comparison with previously published infrared data explains several spectral features. The results from this study provide data that can be used for the preparative process monitoring of terbutaline hemisulphate, an important beta(2) agonist drug in various dosage forms and its interaction with excipients and other components.

Abstract
The Fourier Transform Raman and Fourier Transform infrared spectra of 3,4-diaminobenzoic acid (3,4-DABA) were recorded in the solid phase. Geometry optimizations were done without any constraint and harmonic-vibrational wave numbers and several thermodynamic parameters were calculated for the minimum energy conformer at ab initio and DFT levels invoking 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The results were compared with the experimental values with the help of specific scaling procedures, the observed vibrational wavenumbers in FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra were analyzed and assigned to different normal modes of the molecule. Most of the modes have wavenumbers in the expected range, the error obtained was in general very low. The appropriate theoretical spectrograms for the IR and Raman spectra of the title molecule were also constructed.
