Quantitative analysis of weak interactions by Lattice energy calculation, Hirshfeld surface and DFT studies of sulfamonomethoxine

Visible light-driven photocatalysts, quantum chemical calculations, ADMET-SAR parameters, and DNA binding studies of nickel complex of sulfadiazine

A 3D-supramolecular nickel integrated Ni-SDZ complex was synthesized using sodium salt of sulfadiazine as the ligand and nickel(II) acetate as the metal salt using a condensation process and slow evaporation approach to growing the single crystal. The metal complex was characterized for its composition, functional groups, surface morphology as well as complex 3D structure, by resorting to various analytical techniques. The interacting surface and stability as well as reactivity of the complex were carried out using the DFT platform. From ADMET parameters, human Intestinal Absorbance data revealed that the compound has the potential to be well absorbed, and also Ni-SDZ complex cannot cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB). Additionally, the complex's DNA binding affinity and in-vivo and in-vitro cytotoxic studies were explored utilizing UV-Vis absorbance titration, viscosity measurements, and S. pombe cells and brine shrimp lethality tests. In visible light radiation, the Ni-SDZ complex displayed exceptional photo-degradation characteristics of approximately 70.19% within 70 min against methylene blue (MB).

Thermodynamic and Computational (DFT) Study of Non-Covalent Interaction Mechanisms of Charge Transfer Complex of Linagliptin with 2,3-Dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone (DDQ) and Chloranilic acid (CHA)

This study describes the non-covalent interactions of the charge transfer complex (CT), which was responsible for the synthesis of Linagliptin (LNG) with 2,3-Dichloro-5,6-Dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone (DDQ), or with Chloranilic acid (CHA) complexes in acetonitrile (MeCN) at temperatures of (25 ± 2 °C). Then, a UV–Vis spectrophotometer was utilized to identify Linagliptin (LNG) from these complexes. For the quantitative measurement of Linagliptin in bulk form, UV–Vis techniques have been developed and validated in accordance with ICH criteria for several aspects, including selectivity, linearity, accuracy, precision, LOD, LOQ, and robustness. The optimization of the complex synthesis was based on solvent polarization; the ratio of molecules in complexes; the association constant; and Gibbs energy (ΔG°). The experimental work is supported by the computational investigation of the complexes utilizing density functional theory as well as (QTAIM); (NCI) index; and (RDG). According to the optimized conditions, Beer’s law was observed between 2.5–100 and 5–100 µM with correlation coefficients of 1.9997 and 1.9998 for LGN-DDQ and LGN-CHA complexes, respectively. For LGN-DDQ and LGN-CHA complexes, the LOD and LOQ were (1.0844 and 1.4406 μM) and (3.2861 and 4.3655 μM), respectively. The approach was successfully used to measure LGN in its bulk form with high precision and accuracy.

Azo-methoxy-calix[4]arene complexes with metal cations for chemical sensor applications: Characterization, QTAIM analyses and dispersion-corrected DFT- computations

In this work, the structures, quantum chemical descriptors, morphologic characterization of the azo-methoxy-calix[4]arene were investigated. The analyses and interpretation of the theoretical and the experimental IR spectroscopy results for the corresponding compounds was performed. The complexation of the azo-methoxy-calix[4]arene with Zn²⁺,Hg²⁺ , Cu²⁺ , Co²⁺, Ni²⁺ , Pb²⁺ and Cd²⁺metal cations has been calculated by the dispersion corrected density functional theory (DFT-D3). The values of the interaction energies show that the specific molecule is more selective to the Cu²⁺ cation. The study of the reactivity parameters confirms that the azo-methoxy-calix[4]arene molecule is more reactive and sensitive to the Cu²⁺ cation than that Co²⁺ and Cd²⁺. In addition, the investigation of the electrophilic and nucleophilic sites has been studied by the molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) analysis. The Hirshfeld surface (HS) analysis of the azo-methoxy-calix[4]arene-Cu²⁺ interaction have been used to understand the Cu⋯hydrogen-bond donors formed between the cation and the specific compound. The Quantum Theory of Atoms in Molecules (QTAIM) via Non covalent Interaction (NCI) analysis was carried out to demonstrate the nature, the type and the strength of the interaction formed between the Cu²⁺ cation and the two symmetrical ligands and the cavity. Finally, the chemical sensor properties based on the Si/SiO₂/Si₃N₄/Azo-methoxy-calix[4]arene for detection of Cu²⁺ cation were studied. Sensing performances are determined with a linear range from 10^-5.2 to 10^-2.2 M. The Si/SiO₂/Si₃N₄/azo-methoxy-calix[4]arene structure is a promoter to have a good performance sensor.
