Abstract
As one of the most common malignancies in female dogs, no drugs have been developed specifically for the treatment of canine mammary carcinoma. In our previous study, a series of diterpenoid alkaloids derivatives were synthesized and exhibited good anti-proliferative activity in vitro against both normal and adriamycin-resistant human breast cancer cells lines. In this study, a series of structurally diverse aconitine-type alkaloids derivatives were also synthesized basing on the minimal modification principle, by modifying on A-ring, C-ring, D-ring, N-atom or salt formation on aconitine skeleton. Their anti-proliferative effects and mechanism on canine mammary cancer cells were investigated, exhibiting the importance of the substitution at A ring, the long chain ester at the C8, the hydroxyl group at the C13, the phenyl ring at the C14 and the N-ethyl group, while the methoxy group at the C1 and C16 showed little effect on the activity. The results of the proliferation, apoptosis and ultrastructure tests of the treated canine mammary carcinoma cells referred that the representative compound, aconitine linoleate (25) could block the cell cycle of canine mammary carcinoma cells in the G0/G1 phase, and exhibit the anti-proliferative effect by inducing apoptosis.

Abstract
Latest progress in the liquid crystal (LC) field related to azo molecules incorporated into natural product- based moieties for the improvement of LC texture and mesomeric phases has received great interest among researchers. A LC containing natural product-based moieties i.e. menthol, kojic acid, cholesterol and chalcone with stable azo and azobenzene scaffolds with specific optical tunability, has been widely used in photo-active materials such as Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), LC films, smart windows and other devices. This review discusses the influence of azobenzene, a renowned photo-responsive and stable LC scaffold, in mesogenic phases due to photo-isomerization and optical switching. The incorporation of mesomeric phases of natural product moieties to azo molecules has improved the properties of LC, i.e, from the nematic phase to the smectic phase with proper magnetic field alignment. Natural product-based LC can be useful in numerous applications, especially practical electronic or optic devices such as optical image storage, display devices, solar cells, optical switching.

Abstract
Coumarin derivatives are a class of compounds with a pronounced wide range of applications, especially in biological activities, in the medicine, pharmacology, cosmetics, coatings and food industry. Their potential applications are highly dependent on the nature of the substituents attached to their nucleus. These substituents modulate their photochemical and photophysical properties, as well as their interactions in their crystalline form, which largely determines the final field of application. Therefore, in this work a series of mono and dihydroxylated coumarin derivatives with different chemical substituents were synthesized and characterized by UV-Visible spectroscopy, thermal analysis (differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and TGA), 1H NMR and X-Ray Diffraction to identify limitations and possibilities as a function of the molecular structure for expanding their applications in polymer science.

Abstract
AbstractConsidering highly valuable biological and pharmaceutical properties of coumarins, the synthesis of these heterocycles has been considered for many organic and pharmaceutical chemists. This review includes the recent research in synthesis methods of coumarin systems, investigating their biological properties and describing the literature reports for the period of 2016 to the middle of 2020. In this review, we have classified the contents based on co-groups of coumarin ring. These reported methods are carried out in the classical and non-classical conditions particularly under green condition such as using green solvent, catalyst and other procedures.

Abstract
Abstract
Crystal structures, Hirshfeld surface analysis and a computational study have been carried out on 2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxylates. Crystal structures are reported for ethyl R-2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxylate derivatives, 2a: R=6-Me, 2b: 7-Me, 2c: 7-Me, 2d: R=7-MeO. In contrast to 2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxamides, 1, in which classical intramolecular N–H···O hydrogen bonds stabilize planar structures and hinder rotation of the amido group out of the coumarin plane in 2, without an equivalent hydrogen bond, there is a greater rotational freedom of the carboxylate group. The interplanar angles between the coumarin core and its attached –C(O)–R substituent in crystalline 2a, 2b, 2c and 2d are 10.41(6), 36.65(6), 10.4(2) and 5.64(6)°, respectively, with distances between the carbonyl oxygen atoms of 2.8255(16), 2.9278(16), 4.226(2) and 2.8328(14) Å, respectively. A theoretical study of molecular conformations was carried out at the M06-2X density level with the 6-31+G(d) and aug-cc-pVTZ basis sets, in methanol solution modeled by PCM, indicated that the most stable conformations had the carbonyl group of the ester in the plane of the coumarin core: the s-cis arrangement of the ester carbonyl and the 2-oxo moieties being the slightly more stable than the s-trans form by less than 0.5 kcal/mol. The experimental conformations of 2a and 2d match well the low energy s-cis arrangement, and 2c matches the slightly lesser stable s-trans arrangement found in the theoretical study. A survey of the molecular conformations of more than 50 2H-chromene-3-carboxylates derivatives in the CCDC data base indicated two distinct groupings of conformations, s-cis and s-trans, each with interplanar angles <30°.
