Abstract
Three new hexa-Ni-substituted Keggin-type polyoxometalates (POMs), [Ni6(OH)3- (DACH)3(H2O)6(PW9O34)]·31H2O (1), [Ni(DACH)2][Ni6(OH)3(DACH)3(HMIP)2(H2O)2(PW9O34)]·56 H2O (2), and [Ni(DACH)2][Ni6(OH)3(DACH)2(AP)(H2O)5(PW9O34)]·2H2O (3) (DACH = 1,2-Diami- nocyclohexane, MIP = 5-Methylisophthalate, AP = Adipate) were successfully made in the presence of DACH under hydrothermal conditions. 1 is an isolated hexa-Ni-substituted Keggin unit decorated by DACH. In order to further construct POM cluster-organic frameworks (POMCOFs) on the basis of 1, by analyzing the steric hindrances and orientations of the POM units, the rigid HMIP and flexible AP ligands were successively incorporated, and another anionic monomeric POM 2 and the new 1D POM cluster organic chain (POMCOC) 3 were obtained. HMIP ligand still acts as a decorating group on the Ni6 core of 2 but results in the different spatial arrangement of the {Ni6PW9} units. AP ligands in 3 successfully bridge adjacent isolated POM cluster units to 1D POMCOC with left-hand helices. The AP in 3 is the longest aliphatic carboxylic acid ligand in POMs, and the 1D POM cluster-AP helical chain represents the first 1D POMCOC with a helical feature.

Abstract
The development of straightforward reproducible methods for the preparation of new photoluminescent coordination polymers (CPs) is an important goal in luminescence and chemical sensing fields. Isophthalic acid derivatives have been reported for a wide range of applications, and in addition to their relatively low cost, have encouraged its use in the preparation of novel lanthanide-based coordination polymers (LnCPs). Considering that the photoluminescent properties of these CPs are highly dependent on the existence of water molecules in the crystal structure, our research efforts are now focused on the preparation of CP with the lowest water content possible, while considering a green chemistry approach. One- and two-dimensional (1D and 2D) LnCPs were prepared from 5-aminoisophthalic acid and Sm3+/Tb3+ using hydrothermal and/or microwave-assisted synthesis. The unprecedented LnCPs were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCRXD), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and their photoluminescence (PL) properties were studied in the solid state, at room temperature, using the CPs as powders and encapsulated in poly(methyl methacrylate (PMMA) films, envisaging the potential preparation of devices for sensing. The materials revealed interesting PL properties that depend on the dimensionality, metal ion, co-ligand used and water content.

Abstract
Drug delivery clusters based on nanocages recently have been the most capable to study. Adipic acid (ADPA) interaction mechanism over nanocages of X(Al/B)12Y(N/P)12 was investigated. We analyzed various electronic, chemical, and spectroscopic properties with nanocages of the adsorbed ADPA molecule. Adsorption energies were calculated to study the adsorption of ADPA with nanocages. Raman enhanced surface scattering is used to track the drug as an effective approach to vibrational spectroscopy. Detection of the drug has been investigated using the SERS properties of nanocages. Title drug acts as a donor of electrons and adsorbs at the electrophilic site of nanocages. Variations in chemical descriptors to recognize the sensing property of ADPA-nanocages are also noted. Analysis of various properties explains enhancement which makes it possible to detect the drug in other products. • Interaction of adipic acid with fullerene-like metal nanocages • Enhancement of spectral properties • Changes in charge transfer values in nanocage-drug system • Docking studies identify the drug delivery property.

Abstract
By rational assembly of polytorsional-amide [N,N′-bis(4-methylenepyridin-4-yl)-1,4-naphthalene dicarboxamide (L)] and polytorsional-carboxylates [H2ADI = adipic acid, H2PIM = pimelic acid, H2SUB = suberic acid], three new Cd-based coordination polymers (CPs) C30H30CdN4O7 (1), C31H32CdN4O7 (2) and C31.03H30.55CdCl0.24N4O5.52 (3) were successfully synthesized. CPs 1–2 and 3 are 2D networks and a 3D framework, which all display 3,5-connected topologies with different structural details. The effects of carboxylates with different carbon chains on the structure of the complexes were studied. Fluorescence experiments show that CPs 1–3 have good multi-functional sensing ability for metal cations (Fe3+), anions (MnO4−, CrO42−, Cr2O72−) and organochlorine pesticides (2,6-dichloro-4-nitroamine) with good anti-interference and recyclable characteristics. The possible sensing mechanism is also investigated in detail. Abstract
Four new different porous crystalline Cd(II)-based coordination polymers (CPs), i. e., [Cd(mdpt)2]·2H2O (1), [Cd2(mdpt)2(m-bdc)(H2O)2] (2), [Cd(Hmdpt)(p-bdc)]·2H2O (3), and [Cd3(mdpt)2(bpdc)2]·2.5NMP (4), were obtained successfully by the assembly of Cd(II) ions and bitopic 3-(3-methyl-2-pyridyl)-5-(4-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole (Hmdpt) in the presence of various benzendicarboxylate ligands, i.e., 1,3/1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid (m-H2bdc, p-H2bdc) and biphenyl-4,4'-bicarboxylate (H2bpdc). Herein, complex 1 is a porous 2-fold interpenetrated four-connected 3D NbO topological framework based on the mdpt- ligand; 2 reveals a two-dimensional (2D) hcb network. Interestingly, 3 presents a three-dimensional (3D) rare interpenetrated double-insertion supramolecular net via 2D ···ABAB··· layers and can be viewed as an fsh topological net, while complex 4 displays a 3D sqc117 framework. Then, the different gas sorption performances were carried out carefully for complexes 1 and 4, the results of which showed 4 has preferable sorption than that of 1 and can be the potential CO2 storage and separation material. Furthermore, the stability and luminescence of four complexes were performed carefully in the solid state.

Abstract
Herein, through a dual-ligand strategy, we report eight isorecticular lanthanide(III) furan-2,5-dicarboxylic acid metal-organic frameworks (Ln-MOFs) with the general formula {[Ln(2,5-FDA)0.5(Glu)(H2O)2]· xH2O} n [Ln = Sm (1), Eu (2), Gd (3), Tb (4), Dy (5), Ho (6), Er (7), and Yb (8); 2,5-FDA2- = furan-2,5-dicarboxylate and Glu2- = glutarate; x = 0.5 for 1, 2, and 4 and x = 0 for 3 and 5-8], synthesized under solvothermal conditions by using an N, N'-dimethylformamide/H2O mixed solvent system. Crystallographic data reveal that all eight Ln-MOFs 1-8 crystallize in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. All of the MOFs are isostructural as well as isomorphous with distorted monocapped square-antiprismatic geometry around the Ln1 metal center. In Ln-MOFs 1-8, the 2,5-FDA2- and Glu2- ligands exhibit μ2-κ4,η1:η1:η1:η1 and μ3-κ5,η2:η1:η1:η1 coordination modes, respectively. Topologically, assembled Ln-MOFs 1-8 consist of the 2D cem topological type. The designed Ln-MOFs 1-8 are further explored for structure-corroborated density functional theory study. Meanwhile, room temperature photoluminescence properties of Ln-MOFs 2 and 4 and magnetic properties of Ln-MOFs 3 and 5 have been explored in detail. A highly intense, ligand-sensitized, Ln3+ f-f photoluminescence emission is exhibited by Ln-MOFs 2 [Eu3+ (red emission)] and 4 [Tb3+ (green emission)]. Magnetic studies suggest weak antiferro- and ferromagnetic interactions between adjacent GdIII ions in Ln-MOF 3, thereby displaying a large magnetocaloric effect. The magnetic data measured at T = 2 K and Δ H = 30 kOe depict that the -Δ Sm value per unit mass reaches 32.1 J kg-1 K-1, which is larger than most of the GdIII-based complexes reported. The alternating-current susceptibility measurements on Ln-MOF 5 revealed that out-of-phase signals are frequency- and temperature-dependent under both 0 and 2 kOe direct-current fields, thereby suggesting a typical slow magnetic relaxation behavior with two relaxation processes. This is further supported by the Cole-Cole plots at 2.4-6 K.

Abstract
Single crystal X-ray diffraction studies reveal the formation of six new coordination polymers (CPs) with the general formulas [Dy(3,5-pdc)(3,5-pdcH)(H2O)2]n·nH2O (1), [Pr2(3,5-pdc)3(H2O)2]n·2n(H2O) (2), [Sm2(3,5-pdc)3(H2O)3]n·nH2O (3), {[Eu2(3,5-pdc)3(H2O)3(CH3CHO)]n·n[2(H2O)(DMF)]} (4), {[Gd2(3,5-pdc)3 (H2O)2]n·2nH2O} (5) and [Er(3,5-pdc)(adip)0.5(H2O)]n (6) (where 3,5-pdc2- = fully deprotonated; 3,5-pdcH- = partially deprotonated 3,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid; adip2- = fully deprotonated adipic acid; and DMF = dimethylformamide) by solvothermal self-assembly of lanthanide ions with rigid 3,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid as a linker and adipic acid as an auxiliary flexible spacer (only coordinated in CP 6). CPs 1 and 2 crystallize in the triclinic P1[combining macron] space group, whereas CPs 3, 4 and 6 crystallize in the monoclinic P21/n, P21/c and C2/c space groups, respectively. CP 5 exhibits the trigonal R3 space group. The 3,5-pdc ligand exhibits eight diverse coordination modes in CPs 1-6, whereas the adipic acid spacer in CP 6 shows only one coordination mode (μ4-κO:κO,O:κO:κO,O). The organic ligands interconnect with metal ions to generate 3D metal-organic frameworks with a variety of intriguing topologies. Theoretical studies, DFT calculations and Hirshfeld surface analysis support the structures adopted by the various CPs. CPs 3 (Sm) and 4 (Eu) emit strong ligand-sensitized characteristic f-f luminescence. Weak ferromagnetic interactions have been studied at low temperatures for CP 1 and CP 5.
