Synthesis, crystal structure, computational analysis and biological properties of 1-(4-chlorobenzoyl)-3-[2-(2-{2-[3-(4-chlorobenzoyl)-thioureido]-ethoxy}ethoxy)ethyl]-thiourea and its Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes

1,2-Diborolanes with strong donor substituents: Synthesis and high antimicrobial activity

1,2-diborolanes with strong and without strong donor substituents have been described, and are also referred to as 1,2-diboracyclopentane. The 1,2-diaryl/alkyl-amino-1,2-diboracyclopentanes 2, 3, and 4 were obtained in good yield after the reaction of 1,2-dichloro-1,2-diboracyclopentane 1 with ArNHLi and Me₃Si-NR₂. The structures of these new derivatives were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The molecular structures of 2b, 2c, 2e, 4, and 5f were also determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The newly synthesized 1,2-borolanes are stable in air and showed particularly high activity against some Gram-positive bacteria.

Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of a new di-thio-glycoluril: 1,4-bis-(4-meth-oxy-phen-yl)-3a-methyl-tetra-hydro-imidazo[4,5-d]imidazole-2,5(1H,3H)-di-thione

In the title di­thio­glycoluril derivative, there is a difference in the torsion angles between the thio­imidazole moiety and the meth­oxy­phenyl groups on either side of the mol­ecule [C—N—C_ar—C_ar = 116.9 (2) and −86.1 (3)°]. The N—C—N bond angle on one side of the di­thio­glycoluril moiety is slightly smaller than the one on the opposite side [110.9 (2)° cf. 112.0 (2)°], probably as a result of the steric effect of the methyl group.

In the crystal, N—H⋯S hydrogen bonds link adjacent mol­ecules to form chains propagating along the c-axis direction. The chains are linked by C—H⋯S hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the bc plane. The layers are then linked by C—H⋯π inter­actions, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional supra­molecular network. Hirshfeld surface analysis and two-dimensional fingerprint plots were used to investigate the mol­ecular inter­actions in the crystal.

Crystal structure of N,N'-[(ethane-1,2-di-yl)bis-(aza-nediylcarbono-thio-yl)]bis-(benzamide)

A new symmetrical thio­carbonohydrazone derivative with two similar benzoyl­thio­ureido functional groups has been prepared and characterized.

The reaction of benzoyl chloride and ethyl­endi­amine in the presence of potassium thio­cyanate yielded a white solid, C₁₈H₁₈N₄O₂S₂, which consists of two benzoyl­thio­ureido moieties connected by an ethyl­ene chain. The asymmetric unit consists of one half of the mol­ecule, the complete mol­ecule being generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry. Both thio­urea moieties are in a trans conformation. An intra­molecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, C—H⋯S and C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules, forming layers parallel to the ac plane.
