Abstract
A silver-loaded carbon-chitosan-polyvinyl alcohol gel (C/CTS/PVA) was designed for suppressing microbial growth and dye adsorption. The antibacterial test results showed that C/CTS/PVA gel had a good antibacterial ability against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The inhibition rate in water was 100 %, and the antibacterial rate remained above 95 % within 35 days after preparation. The tight spatial structure provided by the adhesive effect of PVA and CTS effectively prevented water loss and enhanced the stability of the gel. The adsorption curves of the gel were fitted by establishing the pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order kinetic models. The adsorption curves were more consistent with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The best adsorption effect for Malachite green was 128.12 mg/g. C/CTS/PVA gel had a remarkable adsorption effect on Malachite green, Congo red, Methyl orange, and Methylene blue. In general, C/CTS/PVA gels have great potential for the treatment of sewage in the future.

Abstract
Metal nanoparticles have been tremendously utilised, such as; antibacterial and anticancer agents. Although metal nanoparticles exhibits antibacterial and anticancer activity, but the drawback of toxicity on normal cells limits their clinical applications. Therefore, improving the bioactivity of hybrid nanomaterials (HNMs) and minimizing toxicity is of paramount importance for biomedical applications. Herein, a facile and simple double precipitation method was used to develop biocompatible and multifunctional HNM from antimicrobial chitosan, curcumin, ZnO and TiO2. In HNM, biomolecules chitosan and curcumin were used to control the toxicity of ZnO and TiO2 and improve their biocidal properties. The cytotxicological properties of the HNM was studied against human breast cancer (MDA-MB-231) and fibroblast (L929) cell lines. The antimicrobial activity of the HNM was examined against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, via the well-diffusion method. In addition, the antioxidant property was evaluated by the radical scavenging method. These findings actively, support the ZTCC HNMs potential, as an innovative biocidal agent for applications in the clinical and healthcare sectors.

Abstract
The second most abundant natural polymer in the earth's crust is chitosan (CS). The unique physical, chemical, structural, and mechanical features of this natural polymer have led to its increased application in a variety of fields such as medicine, catalysis, removal of pollutants, etc. To eliminate various pollutants, it is preferable to employ natural compounds as their use aids the removal of contaminants from the environment. Consequently, employing CS to eliminate contaminants is a viable choice. For this aim, CS can be applied as a template and support for metal nanoparticles (MNPs) and prevent the accumulation of MNPs as well as a reducing and stabilizing agent for the fabrication of MNPs. Among the pollutants present in nature, nitro compounds are an important and wide category of biological pollutants. 4-Nitrophenol (4-NP) is one of the nitro pollutants. There are different ways for the removal of 4-NP, but the best and most effective method for this purpose is the application of a metallic catalyst and a reducing agent. In this review, we report the recent developments regarding CS-supported metallic (nano)catalysts for the reduction of nitroaromatics such as nitrophenols, nitroaniline compounds, nitrobenzene, etc. in the presence of reducing agents. The metals investigated in this study include Ag, Au, Ni, Cu, Ru, Pt, Pd, etc.

Sustainable architecting of Co 2SnO 4/CE-BN-based electrochemical platform for highly selective and ultrasensitive detection of 2-nitroaniline in life samples. Mikrochim Acta 2022; 189:390. Abstract
A novel binary heterogeneous electrocatalyst, Co2SnO4, decorated on chemically exfoliated boron nitride sheets (CE-BN) with an exceptional capacity to detect electrochemical properties has been prepared by the simple hydrothermal method. The structural, surface morphology and electrochemical characteristics of Co2SnO4/CE-BN were characterized using a range of physicochemical and electrochemical techniques. Various voltammetric approaches were used to observe the analytical behaviour and applications of Co2SnO4/CE-BN/GCE for the determination of 2-nitroaniline (2-NA). The whole experiment is operated in the potential range from 0 to - 1.0 V vs Ag/AgCl (sat. KCl). The impact of operational factors on the peak current of 2-NA was investigated, including the pH, sample concentration, modifier amount and scan speed. With an estimated differential pulse voltammetry detection limit of 0.0371 µM and excellent sensitivity of 1,35 µA µM-1 cm-2, the produced sensor, Co2SnO4/CE-BN/GCE, revealed high electrocatalytic activity (DPV). The system is more practical and sustainable due to its repeatability, stability and reproducibility with respect to the results achieved for detection of 2-NA. The synthesized Co2SnO4/CE-BN-modified sensor may thus be a likely choice for the detection of 2-NA in actual water sample analysis.
