Abstract
Air pollution is the most serious environmental issue in Vietnam, particularly in big cities. Air pollutants that are set as environmental standards are regularly monitored by the public institutions. Whereas, environmental data on organic micro-pollutants in atmospheric particulate matters (APMs) is limited, including PAHs and POPs. Although massive pesticides are used in big cities, their data in APMs in Vietnam is very scarce. In order to elucidate their occurrence in the ambient air in Hanoi and their health effects, we surveyed 107 insecticides in APMs by a novel target screening method using LC-QTOF-MS-SWATH. A total of 19 insecticides were detected in the dry and the rainy seasons. Among them, 16 substances are, to our knowledge, reported for the first time in the literature. Their total concentrations varied from 0.47 to 27.0 ng m-3 (median, 3.6 ng m-3), detection frequencies of 12 compounds are higher than 42%, and the number of insecticides detected per each sample ranging from 5 to 13 (median, 9). Total concentrations in the dry season were generally higher than in the rainy season, and concentrations at night were higher than daytime in both seasons. The level of insecticides depends not only on the season, but also on its physicochemical properties, its application conditions, and the meteorological conditions. Their emission sources could be related to agricultural usage, floricultural activities, and pest control in houses. The total maximum daily intake (DIair) through inhalation for adults and children were 2.39E-05 mg kg-1 d-1 and 2.98E-05 mg kg-1 d-1, respectively. The highest Hazard Quotients (HQs) were 1.34E-03 and 3.37E-03, and the highest Hazard Indices (HIs) were 2.71E-03 and 6.33E-03 for adults and children, respectively. All values of HQs, and HIs of insecticides were less than 1, indicating that health risk would be negligible.

Abstract
As part of the 7th International Workshops on Genotoxicity Testing held in Tokyo, Japan in November 2017, a workgroup of experts reviewed and assessed the risk of aneugens for human health. The present manuscript is one of three manuscripts from the workgroup and reports on the unanimous consensus reached on the evidence for aneugens affecting germ cells, their mechanisms of action and role in hereditary diseases. There are 24 chemicals with strong or sufficient evidence for germ cell aneugenicity providing robust support for the ability of chemicals to induce germ cell aneuploidy. Interference with microtubule dynamics or inhibition of topoisomerase II function are clear characteristics of germ cell aneugens. Although there are mechanisms of chromosome segregation that are unique to germ cells, there is currently no evidence for germ cell-specific aneugens. However, the available data are heavily skewed toward chemicals that are aneugenic in somatic cells. Development of high-throughput screening assays in suitable animal models for exploring additional targets for aneuploidy induction, such as meiosis-specific proteins, and to prioritize chemicals for the potential to be germ cell aneugens is encouraged. Evidence in animal models support that: oocytes are more sensitive than spermatocytes and somatic cells to aneugens; exposure to aneugens leads to aneuploid conceptuses; and, the frequencies of aneuploidy are similar in germ cells and zygotes. Although aneuploidy in germ cells is a significant cause of infertility and pregnancy loss in humans, there is currently limited evidence that aneugens induce hereditary diseases in human populations because the great majority of aneuploid conceptuses die in utero. Overall, the present work underscores the importance of protecting the human population from exposure to chemicals that can induce aneuploidy in germ cells that, in contrast to carcinogenicity, is directly linked to an adverse outcome.

Abstract
Although Theodor Boveri linked abnormal chromosome numbers and disease more than a century ago, an in-depth understanding of the impact of mitotic and meiotic chromosome segregation errors on cell proliferation and diseases is still lacking. This review reflects on the efforts and results of a large European research network that, from the 1980's until 2004, focused on protection against aneuploidy-inducing factors and tackled the following problems: 1) the origin and consequences of chromosome imbalance in somatic and germ cells; 2) aneuploidy as a result of environmental factors; 3) dose-effect relationships; 4) the need for validated assays to identify aneugenic factors and classify them according to their modes of action; 5) the need for reliable, quantitative data suitable for regulating exposure and preventing aneuploidy induction; 6) the need for mechanistic insight into the consequences of aneuploidy for human health. This activity brought together a consortium of experts from basic science and applied genetic toxicology to prepare the basis for defining guidelines and to encourage regulatory activities for the prevention of induced aneuploidy. Major strengths of the EU research programmes on aneuploidy were having a valuable scientific approach based on well-selected compounds and accurate methods that allow the determination of precise dose-effect relationships, reproducibility and inter-laboratory comparisons. The work was conducted by experienced scientists stimulated by a fascination with the complex scientific issues surrounding aneuploidy; a key strength was asking the right questions at the right time. The strength of the data permitted evaluation at the regulatory level. Finally, the entire enterprise benefited from a solid partnership under the lead of an inspired and stimulating coordinator. The research programme elucidated the major modes of action of aneugens, developed scientifically sound assays to assess aneugens in different tissues, and achieved the international validation of relevant assays with the goal of protecting human populations from aneugenic chemicals. The role of aneuploidy in tumorigenesis will require additional research, and the study of effects of exposure to multiple agents should become a priority. It is hoped that these reflections will stimulate the implementation of aneuploidy testing in national and OECD guidelines.

Abstract
Screening of pharmaceutical, chemical and environmental compounds for their effects on reproductive health relies on in vivo studies. More robust and efficient methods to assess these effects are needed. Herein we adapted and validated an organotypic in vitro follicle growth (IVFG) assay to determine the impact of compounds on markers of ovarian function. We isolated mammalian follicles and cultured them in the presence of compounds with: (1) known fertotoxicity (i.e. toxicity to the reproductive system; cyclophosphamide and cisplatin); (2) no known fertotoxicity (nalbuphine); and (3) unknown fertotoxicity (Corexit EC 9500 A; CE, Nalco, Chicago, IL, USA). For each compound, we assayed follicle growth, hormone production and the ability of follicle-enclosed oocytes to resume meiosis and produce a mature egg. Cyclophosphamide and cisplatin caused dose-dependent disruption of follicle dynamics, whereas nalbuphine did not. The reproductive toxicity of CE, an oil dispersant used heavily during the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, has never been examined in a mammalian system. In the present study, CE compromised follicle morphology and functional parameters. Our findings demonstrate that this IVFG assay system can be used to distinguish fertotoxic from non-toxic compounds, providing an in vitro tool to assess the effects of chemical compounds on reproductive function and health.

Abstract
This study reports a new online molecularly imprinted solid phase extraction coupled to chemiluminescence for the determination of trichlorfon. This molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was prepared through bulk polymerization, in which methacrylic acid (MAA) was used as the functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as the cross-linker. This novel functionalized material was characterized by FT-IR spectra and adsorption, and it exhibited good recognition and selective ability and fast adsorption-desorption dynamics toward trichlorfon. The factors affecting preconcentration of the analytes and sensitivity of the method are discussed in detail. Under the optimal condition, the linear range of the calibration graph was between 0.02 and 1.0 ng L(-1), and the detection limit was 1 × 10(3) ng L(-1). The blank cucumber samples spiked with trichlorfon at three levels were extracted and determined by the presented method with recoveries ranging from 83.5 to 94.5%, and the results were correlated well with those obtained using gas chromatography. Moreover, this developed method was successfully applied to the quantitative detection of trichlorfon residues in leek samples.
