Abstract
Hand and upper extremity (HUE) vascular disorders are encountered frequently by hand surgeons in clinical practice. A wide array of imaging and vascular interventional radiology modalities exists for the diagnosis and treatment of HUE vascular disorders, some of which may not be familiar to the HUE surgeons. In this review article, we summarize the vascular imaging and vascular interventional radiology modalities and their relative advantages, disadvantages, and indications with respect to HUE pathology. We aim to familiarize HUE surgeons with the available types of diagnostic and therapeutic options for HUE vascular pathologies and aid interdisciplinary communication with vascular interventional radiology specialists during the clinical decision-making process.

Abstract
MR angiography (MRA) is a powerful tool for imaging of the extremities, allowing a thorough assessment of the arteries and veins in both the upper and lower limbs. Both contrast-enhanced and noncontrast MRA techniques are described in the online presentation, including practical tips and tricks to obtain all necessary information at every examination. This module is the sixth and final segment in a series created on behalf of the Society for Magnetic Resonance Angiography (SMRA), a group of researchers and clinicians who are passionate about the benefits of MRA but understand its challenges. Abstract
Vascular lesions of the hand are common and are distinct from vascular lesions elsewhere because of the terminal vascular network in this region, the frequent hand exposure to trauma and microtrauma, and the superficial location of the lesions. Vascular lesions in the hand may be secondary to local pathology, a proximal source of emboli, or systemic diseases with vascular compromise. In most cases, ischaemic conditions are investigated with Doppler ultrasonography. However, computed tomography angiography (CTA) or dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) is often necessary for treatment planning. MR imaging is frequently performed with MRA to distinguish between vascular malformations, vascular tumours, and perivascular tumours. Some vascular tumours preferentially affect the hand, such as pyogenic granulomas or spindle cell haemangiomas associated with Maffucci syndrome. Glomus tumours are the most frequent perivascular tumours of the hand. The purpose of this article is to describe the state-of-the-art acquisition protocols and illustrate the different patterns of vascular lesions and perivascular tumours of the hand.

Abstract
Imaging is needed for diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up of patients with pathologies affecting upper extremity vasculature. With growth and evolution of imaging modalities [especially CT angiography (CTA) and MR angiography (MRA)], there is need to recognize the advantages and disadvantages of various modalities and obtain the best possible imaging diagnostic test. Understanding various limitations and pitfalls as well as the best practices to minimize and manage these pitfalls is very important for the diagnosis. This article reviews the upper extremity arterial vascular anatomy, discusses the CTA and MRA imaging, various pitfalls, and challenges and discuss imaging manifestations of upper extremity arterial pathologies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To determine the type and frequency of vascular and organ malformations in adults with thalidomide embryopathy (TE) using non-contrast magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) and to assess the effect of the observed malformations on renal function. Methods and Results: The institutional ethics committee approved this prospective study and written informed consent was given by all 78 subjects (50 females) with TE (mean age: 55±1.1 years), who were examined by non-contrast MRA at 3T. ECG-triggered balanced turbo field echo images of the chest, abdomen and pelvis were obtained in coronal and sagittal orientations. Two observers assessed the frequency of vascular and organ malformations. Serum creatinine and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) were obtained to assess renal function. In 58 subjects, 99 vascular anomalies were observed, including 68 arterial (69%) and 31 venous anomalies (31%); 15 patients had 16 abdominal organ malformations including 12 kidney anomalies and 4 cases of gallbladder agenesis. Most vascular anomalies affected the renal vessels (n=66, 67%) or supraaortic arteries (n=28, 28%). Serum creatinine and eGFR revealed normal renal function in all subjects. CONCLUSIONS Vascular and organ anomalies occurred in a high number of subjects with TE without evidence of renal dysfunction. Information about the presence of malformations may be important for future surgical interventions in subjects with TE.

Abstract
Upper extremity vasculature can be affected by various traumatic and nontraumatic pathologies; however, the evaluation of these arteries can be challenging for the radiologists as well as for the clinicians. After an accurate history and clinical examination, imaging plays a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment planning of these patients. Depending on the urgency and the indication, upper extremity arteries may be evaluated by ultrasonography with color Doppler, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or digital subtraction angiography. This review article discusses relevant imaging anatomy of the upper extremity arteries, presents CT and MRI protocols, briefly describes the state-of-the-art CT and MRI of various pathologies affecting the upper extremity arteries, and summarizes the important pearls needed for busy practicing radiologist.
