Abstract
The dynamics of integer-order Cohen-Grossberg neural networks with time delays has lately drawn tremendous attention. It reveals that fractional calculus plays a crucial role on influencing the dynamical behaviors of neural networks (NNs). This paper deals with the problem of the stability and bifurcation of fractional-order Cohen-Grossberg neural networks (FOCGNNs) with two different leakage delay and communication delay. The bifurcation results with regard to leakage delay are firstly gained. Then, communication delay is viewed as a bifurcation parameter to detect the critical values of bifurcations for the addressed FOCGNN, and the communication delay induced-bifurcation conditions are procured. We further discover that fractional orders can enlarge (reduce) stability regions of the addressed FOCGNN. Furthermore, we discover that, for the same system parameters, the convergence time to the equilibrium point of FONN is shorter (longer) than that of integer-order NNs. In this paper, the present methodology to handle the characteristic equation with triple transcendental terms in delayed FOCGNNs is concise, neoteric and flexible in contrast with the prior mechanisms owing to skillfully keeping away from the intricate classified discussions. Eventually, the developed analytic results are nicely showcased by the simulation examples.

Abstract
This article focuses on the fixed-time pinning common synchronization and adaptive synchronization for quaternion-valued neural networks with time-varying delays. First, to reduce transmission burdens and limit convergence time, a pinning controller which only controls partial nodes directly rather than the entire nodes is proposed based on fixed-time control theory. Then, by Lyapunov function approach and some inequalities techniques, fixed-time common synchronization criterion is established. Second, further to realize the self-regulation function of pinning controller, an adaptive pinning controller which can adjust automatically the control gains is developed, the desired fixed-time adaptive synchronization is achieved for the considered system, and the corresponding criterion is also derived. Finally, the availability of these results is tested by simulation example.

Abstract
This paper examines the issue of almost periodic quasi-projective synchronization of delayed fractional-order quaternion-valued neural networks. First, using a direct method rather than decomposing the fractional quaternion-valued system into four equivalent fractional real-valued systems, using Banach's fixed point theorem, according to the basic properties of fractional calculus and some inequality methods, we obtain that there is a unique almost periodic solution for this class of neural network with some sufficient conditions. Next, by constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional, using the characteristic of the Mittag-Leffler function and the scaling idea of the inequality, the adequate conditions for the quasi-projective synchronization of the established model are derived, and the upper bound of the systematic error is estimated. Finally, further use Matlab is used to carry out two numerical simulations to prove the results of theoretical analysis.

Abstract
The dynamical study of continuous-/discontinuous-time fractional-order neural networks (FONNs) has been thoroughly explored, and several publications have been made available. This study is designed to give an exhaustive review of the dynamical studies of multidimensional FONNs in continuous/discontinuous time, including Hopfield NNs (HNNs), Cohen-Grossberg NNs, and bidirectional associative memory NNs, and similar models are considered in real ( [Formula: see text]), complex ( [Formula: see text]), quaternion ( [Formula: see text]), and octonion ( [Formula: see text]) fields. Since, in practice, delays are unavoidable, theoretical findings from multidimensional FONNs with various types of delays are thoroughly evaluated. Some required and adequate stability and synchronization requirements are also mentioned for fractional-order NNs without delays.

Abstract
This paper concerns with the preassigned-time projective synchronization issue for delayed fully quaternion-valued discontinuous neural networks involving parameter uncertainties through the non-separation method. Above all, based on the existing works, a new preassigned-time stability theorem is established. Subsequently, to realize the control goals, two types of novel and simple chattering-free quaternion controllers are designed, one without the power-law term and the other with a hyperbolic-tangent function. They are different from the existing common power-law controller and exponential controller. Thirdly, under the Filippov discontinuity theories and with the aid of quaternion inequality techniques, some novel succinct sufficient criteria are obtained to ensure the addressed systems to achieve the preassigned-time synchronization by using the preassigned-time stability theory. The preassigned settling time is free from any parameter and any initial value of the system, and can be preset according to the actual task demands. Particularly, unlike the existing results, the proposed control methods can effectively avoid the chattering phenomenon, and the time delay part is removed for simplicity. Additionally, the projection coefficient is generic quaternion-valued instead of real-valued or complex-valued, and some of the previous relevant results are extended. Lastly, numerical simulations are reported to substantiate the effectiveness of the control strategies, the merits of preassigned settling time, and the correctness of the acquired results.

Abstract
This paper presents new theoretical results on quasi-projective synchronization (Q-PS) and complete synchronization (CS) of one kind of discrete-time fractional-order delayed neural networks (DFDNNs). At first, three new fractional difference inequalities for exploring the upper bound of quasi-synchronization error and adaptive synchronization are established by dint of Laplace transform and properties of discrete Mittag-Leffler function, which vastly expand a number of available results. Furthermore, two controllers are designed including nonlinear controller and adaptive controller. And on the basis of Lyapunov method, the aforementioned inequalities and properties of fractional-order difference operators, some sufficient synchronization criteria of DFDNNs are derived. Because of the above controllers, synchronization criteria in this paper are less conservative. At last, numerical examples are carried out to illustrate the usefulness of theoretical upshots.

Abstract
This article studies the global exponential synchronization (GES) of quaternion-valued memristive delayed neural networks (QVMDNNs) by quantized intermittent control (QIC). Without decomposing the original systems into usual real-valued or complex-valued ones, the discussed system is directly processed in both cases of the differential inclusion theory. Based on two QIC strategies and applying Lyapunov functional method and inequality techniques, several new delay-dependent criteria in the form of real-valued algebraic inequalities are directly derived to assure the GES of the concerned system. Compared to the traditional feedback control, the QIC strategy can reduce the control expenses and shorten time to achieve the GES. Ultimately, two examples are given to validate the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed outcomes.

Abstract
The Mittag–Leffler synchronization (MLS) issue for Caputo-delayed quaternion bidirectional associative memory neural networks (BAM-NNs) is studied in this paper. Firstly, a novel lemma is proved by the Laplace transform and inverse transform. Then, without decomposing a quaternion system into subsystems, the adaptive controller and the linear controller are designed to realize MLS. According to the proposed lemma, constructing two different Lyapunov functionals and applying the fractional Razumikhin theorem and inequality techniques, the sufficient criteria of MLS on fractional delayed quaternion BAM-NNs are derived. Finally, two numerical examples are given to illustrate the validity and practicability.

Abstract
The fixed-time synchronization and preassigned-time synchronization of quaternion-valued neural networks are concerned in this article. By developing fixed-time stability and proposing a pure power-law control scheme, some simple conditions are obtained to realize fixed-time synchronization of quaternion-valued neural networks and the upper bound of the synchronized time is provided. Furthermore, the preassigned-time synchronization of quaternion-valued neural networks is investigated based on pure power-law control design, where the synchronization time is preassigned in advance and the control gains are finite. Note that the designed controllers in this paper are the pure power-law forms, which are simpler and more effective compared with the traditional design composed of the linear part and power-law part. Eventually, an example is given to illustrate the feasibility and validity of the results obtained.

Abstract
This paper investigates a class of fractional-order delayed impulsive gene regulatory networks (GRNs). The proposed model is an extension of some existing integer-order GRNs using fractional derivatives of Caputo type. The existence and uniqueness of an almost periodic state of the model are investigated and new criteria are established by the Lyapunov functions approach. The effects of time-varying delays and impulsive perturbations at fixed times on the almost periodicity are considered. In addition, sufficient conditions for the global Mittag–Leffler stability of the almost periodic solutions are proposed. To justify our findings a numerical example is also presented.

Abstract
This article presents a novel four-dimensional autonomous fractional-order chaotic system (FOCS) with multi-nonlinearity terms. Several dynamics, such as the chaotic attractors, equilibrium points, fractal dimension, Lyapunov exponent, and bifurcation diagrams of this new FOCS, are studied analytically and numerically. Adaptive control laws are derived based on Lyapunov theory to achieve chaos synchronization between two identical new FOCSs with an uncertain parameter. For these two identical FOCSs, one represents the master and the other is the slave. The uncertain parameter in the slave side was estimated corresponding to the equivalent master parameter. Next, this FOCS and its synchronization were realized by a feasible electronic circuit and tested using Multisim software. In addition, a microcontroller (Arduino Due) was used to implement the suggested system and the developed synchronization technique to demonstrate its digital applicability in real-world applications. Furthermore, based on the developed synchronization mechanism, a secure communication scheme was constructed. Finally, the security analysis metric tests were investigated through histograms and spectrograms analysis to confirm the security strength of the employed communication system. Numerical simulations demonstrate the validity and possibility of using this new FOCS in high-level security communication systems. Furthermore, the secure communication system is highly resistant to pirate attacks. A good agreement between simulation and experimental results is obtained, showing that the new FOCS can be used in real-world applications.

Abstract
In this paper, a type of fractional-order quaternion-valued neural networks (FOQVNNs) with leakage and time-varying delays is established to simulate real-world situations, and the global Mittag-Leffler stability of the system is investigated by using the non-decomposition method. First, to avoid decomposing the system into two complex-valued systems or four real-valued systems, a new sign function for quaternion numbers is introduced based on the ones for real and complex numbers. And two novel lemmas for quaternion-valued sign function and Caputo fractional derivative are established in quaternion domain, which are used to investigate the stability of FOQVNNs. Second, a concise and flexible quaternion-valued state feedback controller is directly designed and a novel 1-norm Lyapunov function composed of the absolute values of real and imaginary parts is established. Then, based on the designed quaternion-valued state feedback controller and the proposed lemmas, some sufficient conditions are given to ensure the global Mittag-Leffler stability of the system. Finally, a numerical simulation is given to verify the theoretical results.

Abstract
This paper expounds the bifurcations of two-delayed fractional-order neural networks (FONNs) with multiple neurons. Leakage delay or communication delay is viewed as a bifurcation parameter, stability zones and bifurcation conditions with respect to them are commendably established, respectively. It declares that both leakage delay and communication delay immensely influence the stability and bifurcation of the developed FONNs. The explored FONNs illustrate superior stability performance if selecting a lesser leakage delay or communication delay, and Hopf bifurcation generates once they overstep their critical values. The verification of the feasibility of the developed analytic results is implemented via numerical experiments.

Abstract
This paper is concerned with complete synchronization of fractional-order chaotic systems with both model uncertainty and external disturbance. Firstly, we propose a new dynamic feedback control method for complete synchronization of fractional-order nominal systems (without both uncertainty and disturbance). Then, a new uncertainty and disturbance estimator (UDE)-based dynamic feedback control method for the fractional-order systems with both uncertainty and disturbance is presented, by which the synchronization problem of such fractional-order chaotic systems is realized. Finally, the fractional-order Lorenz system is used to demonstrate the practicability of the proposed results.

Abstract
The problem on passive filter design for fractional-order quaternion-valued neural networks (FOQVNNs) with neutral delays and external disturbance is considered in this paper. Without separating the FOQVNNs into two complex-valued neural networks (CVNNs) or the FOQVNNs into four real-valued neural networks (RVNNs), by constructing Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and using inequality technique, the delay-independent and delay-dependent sufficient conditions presented as linear matrix inequality (LMI) to confirm the augmented filtering dynamic system to be stable and passive with an expected dissipation are derived. One numerical example with simulations is furnished to pledge the feasibility for the obtained theory results.

Abstract
Our work here is to propose a novel technique by which chaos complete and phase synchronizations can be accomplished via a low-cost scheme. We call the proposed technique a “single-state feedback track synchronization control algorithm”. A single-state feedback track synchronization control algorithm is designed so that both complete and phase synchronizations can be accomplished using the same controller. Complete synchronization between two chaotic systems means complete symmetry between them, but phase synchronization means complete symmetry with a phase shift. In addition, the proposed method is applied to the synchronization of two identical chaotic Lorenz models. The effectiveness and robustness of the proposed algorithm is well illustrated via exhaustive numerical simulation experiments based on the Matlab toolbox of the powerful genetic algorithm. The robustness of the proposed algorithm motivated us to apply this method of synchronization in a secure communication application.

Abstract
Stochastic disturbances often cause undesirable characteristics in real-world system modeling. As a result, investigations on stochastic disturbances in neural network (NN) modeling are important. In this study, stochastic disturbances are considered for the formulation of a new class of NN models; i.e., the discrete-time stochastic quaternion-valued neural networks (DSQVNNs). In addition, the mean-square asymptotic stability issue in DSQVNNs is studied. Firstly, we decompose the original DSQVNN model into four real-valued models using the real-imaginary separation method, in order to avoid difficulties caused by non-commutative quaternion multiplication. Secondly, some new sufficient conditions for the mean-square asymptotic stability criterion with respect to the considered DSQVNN model are obtained via the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, based on the Lyapunov functional and stochastic analysis. Finally, examples are presented to ascertain the usefulness of the obtained theoretical results.

Abstract
In this paper, we study the mean-square exponential input-to-state stability (exp-ISS) problem for a new class of neural network (NN) models, i.e., continuous-time stochastic memristive quaternion-valued neural networks (SMQVNNs) with time delays. Firstly, in order to overcome the difficulties posed by non-commutative quaternion multiplication, we decompose the original SMQVNNs into four real-valued models. Secondly, by constructing suitable Lyapunov functional and applying It o ^ ’s formula, Dynkin’s formula as well as inequity techniques, we prove that the considered system model is mean-square exp-ISS. In comparison with the conventional research on stability, we derive a new mean-square exp-ISS criterion for SMQVNNs. The results obtained in this paper are the general case of previously known results in complex and real fields. Finally, a numerical example has been provided to show the effectiveness of the obtained theoretical results.

Global Stability Analysis of Fractional-Order Quaternion-Valued Bidirectional Associative Memory Neural Networks. MATHEMATICS 2020. Abstract
We study the global asymptotic stability problem with respect to the fractional-order quaternion-valued bidirectional associative memory neural network (FQVBAMNN) models in this paper. Whether the real and imaginary parts of quaternion-valued activation functions are expressed implicitly or explicitly, they are considered to meet the global Lipschitz condition in the quaternion field. New sufficient conditions are derived by applying the principle of homeomorphism, Lyapunov fractional-order method and linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach for the two cases of activation functions. The results confirm the existence, uniqueness and global asymptotic stability of the system’s equilibrium point. Finally, two numerical examples with their simulation results are provided to show the effectiveness of the obtained results.

Global Mittag–Leffler Stability and Stabilization Analysis of Fractional-Order Quaternion-Valued Memristive Neural Networks. MATHEMATICS 2020. Abstract
This paper studies the global Mittag–Leffler stability and stabilization analysis of fractional-order quaternion-valued memristive neural networks (FOQVMNNs). The state feedback stabilizing control law is designed in order to stabilize the considered problem. Based on the non-commutativity of quaternion multiplication, the original fractional-order quaternion-valued systems is divided into four fractional-order real-valued systems. By using the method of Lyapunov fractional-order derivative, fractional-order differential inclusions, set-valued maps, several global Mittag–Leffler stability and stabilization conditions of considered FOQVMNNs are established. Two numerical examples are provided to illustrate the usefulness of our analytical results.
