Abstract
Paraneoplastic neurological syndromes (PNSs) are an uncommon complication of cancer, affecting nearby 1/10,000 subjects with a tumour. PNSs can involve all the central and peripheral nervous systems, the muscular system, and the neuromuscular junction, causing extremely variable symptomatology. The diagnosis of the paraneoplastic disease usually precedes the clinical manifestations of cancer, making an immediate recognition of the pathology crucial to obtain a better prognosis. PNSs are autoimmune diseases caused by the expression of common antigens by the tumour and the nervous system. Specific antibodies can help clinicians diagnose them, but unfortunately, they are not always detectable. Immunosuppressive therapy and the treatment of cancer are the cornerstones of therapy for PNSs. This paper reports a case of PNSs associated with breast tumours and focuses on the most common paraneoplastic neurological syndromes. We report a case of a young female with a clinical syndrome of the occurrence of rigidity in the right lower limb with postural instability with walking supported and diplopia, with a final diagnosis of paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration and seronegative rigid human syndrome associated with infiltrating ductal carcinoma of the breast.

Abstract
Breast cancer is the most frequent cause of cancer of women in much of the world. In countries with screening programs, breast cancer is often detected before clinical symptoms are apparent, but occasionally the occurrence of a paraneoplastic syndrome precedes the identification of cancer. In breast cancer, there are known to be paraneoplastic endocrine syndromes and neurologic syndromes. The neurologic syndromes are often hard to identify and treat. The neurologic syndromes associated with breast cancer include cerebellar degeneration, sensorimotor neuropathy, retinopathy, stiff-persons syndrome, encephalitis, and opsoclonus-myoclonus. Most of these are mediated by antibodies against known neural antigens, although some cases appear to be mediated by non-humoral mechanisms. Treatments differ depending upon the syndrome type and etiology. Outcomes also vary depending upon duration of disease, the treatments used and the responsiveness of the underlying cancer. A thorough review of the published literature is provided along with recommendations for management and future research.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The involvement of the peripheral nervous system by anti-CV2/CRMP5 paraneoplastic antibodies is typically encountered as a mixed sensorimotor polyneuropathy. We report a fatal case of severe chronic progressive axonal polyradiculoneuropathy in association with this antibody. METHODS Review of the patient's chart, nerve conduction/electromyographic studies, and nerve biopsy. RESULTS A 51-year-old man presented with a progressive quadriparesis over a 4-month period. Extensive evaluation for potential etiologies was significant only for positive anti-CV2/CRMP5 antibodies without detection of an underlying neoplasm. Despite multiple immunomodulatory therapies, the patient progressed and demonstrated electrodiagnostic evidence for a chronic axonal polyradiculoneuropathy with ongoing denervation. The patient eventually died of respiratory failure. CONCLUSIONS This case adds to the clinical spectrum of the peripheral nervous system involvement in patients with paraneoplastic anti-CV2/CRMP5 antibodies.

Abstract
Carcinoids are neuroendocrine tumors mainly involving the gastrointestinal tract, lungs and bronchi. They were considered benign with slow growth, but they can be malignant in a substantial percentage of patients (metastasizing to liver, bones, skin, etc). Endocrine activity results in carcinoid syndrome. Proximal myopathy has been reported in 7% of patients with carcinoid syndrome. Bronchopulmonary and thymic carcinoids producing adrenocorticotropic hormone can cause Cushing's syndrome, a main feature of which is myopathy. There are a few reports of carcinoids associated with paraneoplastic neurological syndromes, including neuropathy. We hereby present an extremely rare case of a primary lung carcinoid presented with paraparesis due to polyneuropathy, and review the relevant literature. To the best of our knowledge there is no similar previous report. Complete resolution of paraparesis after excision of the lung carcinoid suggests paraneoplastic neurological syndrome.
