Abstract
PURPOSE Breaking bad news about children's chronic diseases is challenging and is often not performed according to the needs of parents. The aim of the study was to explore the experiences of Indonesian parents receiving bad news about their chronically ill child. DESIGN AND METHOD This is a qualitative descriptive study that used semi-structured interviews. Twenty one parents who met the inclusion criteria were face-to-face interviewed between August 2021 and September 2022. Interviews were audio-recorded and transcribed. The data were analyzed using content analysis. The trustworthiness of the study was established through member checking, triangulation, and detailed transcriptions. The COREQ checklist was followed in this study. FINDINGS Findings revealed four categories: 1) reactions when receiving bad news; 2) expectations while receiving bad news; 3) conflicting feelings and situations; and 4) perceived roles of nurses in delivering the news. CONCLUSION Parents reacted in different ways when receiving bad news about their children's disease, mostly experiencing negative thoughts and being unable to bear the news. Despite those reactions, parents highlighted their right to receive the news with an understandable explanation through the roles of nurses as educators, advocates, and empathizers. PRACTICE IMPLICATION Nurses are encouraged to strengthen their roles in breaking bad news. Nurses and healthcare professionals are also suggested to use understandable language and explain medical terms that are used in delivering the information to parents.

Abstract
BACKGROUND With the increasing survival rates of childhood cancer, nurses' familiarity with published evidence has become crucial to care for this population and their families throughout the survival process. OBJECTIVE To systematically identify and conduct a bibliometric analysis of nursing-related evidence concerning extended and long-term survival of childhood survivors. METHODS A scoping review was conducted using bibliometric analysis with searches performed in the PubMed, CINAHL, SCOPUS, and Web of Science databases. A total of 300 studies on childhood cancer survival within the nursing field were included. RESULTS The first study on this topic was published in 1975. American and Chinese researchers lead study publications, primarily publishing in nursing journals such as Cancer Nursing. Quantitative designs were prevalent, and the majority of the studies focused on physical late effects, overall quality of life, and survivor follow-up care. CONCLUSIONS This study has allowed us to map and synthesize the bibliometric evidence pertaining to the extended and long-term survivorship of childhood cancer survivors in the nursing field. Consequently, it identifies gaps in knowledge, research trends, and areas necessitating further exploration. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE The evidence presented in this review can facilitate academic and clinical discussions, offering a comprehensive synthesis of the published knowledge. More research needs to be developed on the topic, particularly in Central and Latin America, Africa, Southern and Eastern Europe, and in some regions of Asia. Furthermore, the scope of studies should extend beyond late effects and quality of life, encompassing the experience of surviving childhood cancer, including psychosocial and spiritual dimensions.

Abstract
This educational article highlights the critical role of pediatric urology nursing research in improving the care of children with urological conditions. It discusses the multifaceted nature of pediatric urology nursing, addresses challenges such as limited nurse scientists and resource constraints, and highlights the need to overcome barriers to increase research involvement. The authors emphasize the importance of prioritizing research areas, the promotion of collaboration, and the provision of adequate funding and academic time for pediatric nurses to contribute to evidence-based practice, to improve patient outcomes. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of research in advancing nursing practice, shaping protocols, and advocating for the rights and needs of children with urological conditions and their families.

Abstract
AIM The aim of this discursive paper was to describe and expound on how paediatric nurses will be able to address the needs of children and adolescents through the lens of selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Rwanda. DESIGN A discursive analysis of SDGs relating to the roles of paediatric nurses in the context of Rwanda. METHODS A discursive method using SDGs as a guiding framework is used in this paper. We drew on our own experiences and supported them with the available literature. RESULTS A collection of contextually relevant examples of how paediatric nurses will be able to address the needs of children and adolescents through the lens of selected SDGs in Rwanda was discussed. The selected SDGs expounded on were: no poverty, good health and well-being, quality of education, decent work and economic growth, reduced inequalities, and partnerships for the goals. CONCLUSIONS There is no doubt that the paediatric nurses in Rwanda play undeniable key roles in attaining SDGs and their targets. Thus, there is a need to train more paediatric nurses with the support of the interdisciplinary partners. Collaboratively, this is possible in the bid to ensure equitable and accessible care to the current and future generations. PUBLIC CONTRIBUTION This discursive paper is intended to inform the different stakeholders in nursing practice, research, education and policy to support and invest in the advanced education of paediatric nurses for attainment of the SDGs.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To identify nursing research priorities in pediatric critical care in Asia. DESIGN We conducted a modified three-round eDelphi survey with pediatric critical care nurses in Asia. The eDelphi technique has been extensively used within health research to achieve a common viewpoint from experts using questionnaires to gather research priorities. In round 1, participants were asked to list three to five research topics that they deemed important. These topics were thematically analyzed and categorized into a questionnaire. Participants rated the research topics in round 2 on a 6-point scale (1 = not important to 6 = extremely important). In round 3, the same questionnaire was used with addition of the calculated mean scores from round 2 for each topic. Research topics ranked among the top 10 were considered extremely important. SETTINGS Twenty-two PICUs in eight Asian countries. SUBJECTS Clinical nurses, managers, educators, and researchers. INTERVENTIONS None. MEASUREMENTS AND MAIN RESULTS In round 1, 146 PICU nurses across eight countries provided 520 research topics. Topics from round 1 were categorized into seven domains with 52 research topics. Prioritized research topics included early recognition of patient deterioration (mean 5.58 ± 0.61), prevention of healthcare-associated infections (mean 5.47 ± 0.70), and interventions to reduce compassion fatigue (mean 5.45 ± 0.80). The top three research domains were end-of-life care (mean 5.34 ± 0.68), professionalism (mean 5.34 ± 0.69), and management of pain, sedation, and delirium (5.32 ± 0.72). CONCLUSIONS This first PICU nursing research prioritization exercise within Asia identified key nursing research themes that should be prioritized and provide a framework for future collaborative studies.

Abstract
Many important clinical questions remain unanswered in the practice of pediatric intensive care due to the lack of high-quality evidence. Although challenges exist in conducting research in pediatric intensive care units, identification of research priorities, interdisciplinary collaborations, innovative trial designs, and the use of common datasets and outcome measures helps to bring new knowledge to our field. The topic of "Research in PICUs" is extremely broad; therefore, this review focuses on a few common themes receiving increased attention in the literature, including research agendas, core outcome sets, precision medicine, and novel clinical trial strategies.

Abstract
PURPOSE Priority settings are important to plan and direct future research. The aim of this study was to identify the top ten pediatric and child health nursing research priorities from the perspectives of consumers, community, and healthcare professionals in Western Australia. DESIGN AND METHODS This study used an adapted James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership design with three phases. 1) A planning workshop to inform a survey. 2) A survey using five open-ended-questions distributed between October 2020 and January 2021 through social media and healthcare professionals' emails. Responders' statements were analyzed with content analysis. 3) A consensus workshop to finalize and rank the themes. RESULTS The planning workshop participants (n = 25) identified gaps such as community child healthcare and confirmed lack of consumer engagement in previous studies. The survey responses (n = 232) generated 911 statements analyzed into 19 themes. The consensus workshop participants (n = 19) merged and added themes, resulting in 16 final themes. The top three ranked themes were: 'access to service', 'mental health and psychological wellbeing', and 'communication'. CONCLUSIONS The research themes are necessarily broad to capture the wide range of issues raised, reflecting the scope of pediatric and child health nursing. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS The priorities will inform future research to be directed to areas of priority for stakeholders who have often not had a say in setting the research agenda.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This overview aimed to synthesize existing systematic reviews to produce a draft framework of evidence-informed health priority setting that supports countries in identifying appropriate steps and methods when developing and implementing national research agendas. MAIN BODY We searched Ovid MEDLINE® and the WHO Institutional Repository for Information Sharing from 2010 to 2020 for critical or systematic reviews that evaluated research priority setting exercises. We adapted the AMSTAR checklist to assess the quality of included reviews and used adapted frameworks for data extraction and analysis. The search resulted in 2395 titles, of which 31 were included. Populations included in the reviews typically involved patients, families and carers, researchers, clinicians, policymakers and research funders. The topics covered in the reviews varied from specific diseases or conditions, approaches for healthcare practice or research priority setting methods itself. All the included systematic reviews were of low or critically low quality. The studies were thematically grouped based on their main focus: identifying and engaging with stakeholders; methods; context; and health area. CONCLUSION Our overview of reviews has reconfirmed aspects of existing frameworks, but has also identified new concepts for countries to consider while developing their national research agendas. We propose a preliminary framework for consideration that highlights four key phases: (1) preparatory, (2) priority setting, (3) follow-up phase and (4) sustainability phase, which have thirteen sub-domains to consider.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE to analyze narratives about the experience of hope of families in the context of pediatric chronic illness. METHOD a narrative research using Family Systems Nursing as a conceptual framework. Three families of children and adolescents diagnosed with complex chronic illness participated in this study, totaling 10 participants. Data collection was developed using family photo-elicitation interviews. Family narratives were constructed and analyzed according to inductive thematic analysis with theoretical data triangulation. RESULTS the analytical theme - Waves of Family Hope in the Context of Pediatric Chronic Illness - is composed of four different types of hope: uncertain hope, caring hope, latent hope, and expectant hope. Movement through these hopes generates a driving energy and depends on a number of factors: support, information, searching for normality, and thoughts and comparisons. CONCLUSION the results highlight the interaction and reciprocities of the members of the family unit, and the dynamics of hope, and illustrate the different types of hope and the factors that influence them. This study highlights the experience of hope as a family resource rather than just an individual resource, and supports health professionals in the planning of family care considering hope as an essential and dynamic family resource.
