Fabrication of copper–zinc oxide composite thin films from single source precursor by aerosol assisted chemical vapour deposition

Tetra-kis[(3-hydroxy-prop-yl)dimethyl-ammonium] tetra-μ-acetato-κO:O'-bis-[chloridocuprate(II)](Cu-Cu) dichloride

The title compound (C₅H₁₄NO)₄[Cu₂(CH₃COO)₄Cl₂]Cl₂, consists of a pair of Cu^II ions bridged by four acetate groups, resulting in a Cu₂(CH₃COO)₄ unit, four (3-hydroxy­prop­yl)dimethyl­ammonium cations (two crystallographically independent pairs) and two chloride anions. The Cu atoms at both termini are bonded to chloride anions. The latter are hydrogen bonded to one of the two pairs of crystallographically independent (3-hydroxy­prop­yl)dimethyl­ammonium cations. The Cu₂(CH₃COO)₄ unit is located on a crystallographic inversion center, and the geometry around each metal center is close to octa­hedral. The Cl—Cu—Cu angles are nearly linear [177.48 (2)°] and the Cu—O bond lengths are in the range 1.9712 (18)–1.9809 (19) Å. The Cu⋯Cu separation between the two acetate-bridged Cu^II centers is 2.6793 (8) Å. The packing of the crystal structure is dominated by N—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonding between the ammonium groups and the chloride anions, as well as by O—H⋯O and O—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. One of the 3-hydroxypropyldimethylammonium cations shows orientational disorder with an occupancy ratio of 0.812 (4): 0.188 (4).

catena-Poly[dieth-yl(2-hydroxy-ethyl)-ammonium [[tetra-μ-acetato-κO:O'-dicuprate(II)(Cu-Cu)]-μ-acetato-κO:O'] dichloro-methane solvate]

The title compound, {(C₆H₁₆NO)[Cu₂(CH₃COO)₅]·CH₂Cl₂}_n, consists of acetate-bridged Cu₂(CH₃COO)₄ units that are connected via another acetate anion at each terminus to form infinite anionic [{Cu₂(CH₃COO)₄}(CH₃COO)]_n chains along [100]. The connecting acetate is hydrogen bonded to the dieth­yl(2-hydroxy­ethyl)ammonium cation, and the dichloro­methane solvent mol­ecule fills the remaining voids in the structure. The O—Cu—Cu angles along the polymeric chain are nearly linear [175.49 (5)°], but individual O—Cu—Cu—O units along the chain are bent and rotated against each other at the bridging acetate ion. Translation of each Cu₂(CH₃COO)₄ unit along the chain, represented by the least-squares plane of the two copper ions along with four of the acetate O atoms, rotated these units by 35.16 (3)°.
