Abstract
A new quaternary sulfide telluride, Ba6Fe2Te3S7, was synthesized by a solid-state reaction, and its crystal structure is novel. X-ray diffraction data on powder and single crystals reveal an orthorhombic lattice with a = 9.7543(3) Å, b = 18.2766(6) Å, and c = 12.0549(4) Å, and the noncentrosymmetric space group Cmc21 (No. 36). The properties of the compound were studied by magnetic susceptibility investigations, specific heat measurements, Mössbauer spectroscopy, and density functional theory calculations. Assuming Ba2+ and, as verified by the Mössbauer spectra, Fe3+, the charge balance requires the presence of a polytelluride, suggested to be a straight-chain [Te34-] polyanion. Further, the crystal structure contains [Fe2S7]8- dimers of two vertex-sharing tetrahedra, with a nearly linear Fe-S-Fe atom arrangement. The dimer exhibits antiferromagnetic coupling, with a coupling constant J = -10.5 meV (H = -2JS1S2) and S = 5/2, resulting in a spin singlet ground state. The interdimer magnetic interaction is so weak that the magnetic dimers can be treated as individuals.

Abstract
Dicationic ionic liquids are an emerging group of Ionic Liquids (ILs) that are currently receiving
much attention as green reaction media and catalysts. Because of a great number of possible
combinations of cations and anions, the physical and chemical properties of dicationic ionic liquids
are more tunable and broader than monocationic ILs. Therefore, their unique properties have made
them the target of many applied and fundamental researches. Actually, dicationic ionic liquids are
more effective and rather fascinating than traditional monocationic ILs. So, due to greater versatility
and diversity, their applications in organic synthesis have been extensively grown. In this review, we
have focused on the synthesis, characterization and applications of dicationic ionic liquids, especially,
in organic synthesis.

Synthesis and Properties of Magnetic Aryl-Imidazolium Ionic Liquids with Dual Brønsted/Lewis Acidity. MATERIALS 2018; 11:ma11122539. Abstract
A series of unique tunable aryl-imidazolium magnetic ionic liquids (MILs) with dual acidity that contain both Brønsted and Lewis acidic sites (abbreviated as B-L MILs) were synthesized and characterized using nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry. Physical properties, such as thermal properties, magnetic susceptibility, and Brønsted and Lewis acidity, were measured. These properties were found to depend on the cation structure. These B-L MILs had good solubility in many organic solvents, good thermal stability, and low melting points, and exhibited magnet-like behavior. For these B-L MILs, the Brønsted acidity was measured using ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis), and the Lewis acidity was measured using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The results showed that B-L MILs with an electron-withdrawing group in the aryl-imidazolium moiety had higher Brønsted acidity, whereas those with an electron-donating group had higher Lewis acidity. This type of ionic liquid, with both Brønsted and Lewis acidic sites, is expected to be a useful solvent and catalyst for organic reactions.

Abstract
Data presented in this article are related with the research paper entitled "Ecotoxicity assessment of dicationic versus monocationic ionic liquids as a more environmentally friendly alternative" [1]. The present article describes the synthesis steps and characterization data of a set of twenty-six imidazolium, pyrrolidinium and pyridinium-based ionic liquids (ILs) or molten salts: nine monocationic and seventeen dicationic. Specifically, the chemical structure of the compounds was confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and 19F NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry (MS). Other data such as physical state at room temperature, melting point temperature (for solids at room temperature) and thermal decomposition temperature (when melting was not reached before decomposition) of the ILs or molten salts are also reported here.
