Abstract
Four new transition metal complexes, [M(PPh3)(L)].CH3OH (M = Ni(II) (1), Pd(II) (2)) [Pt (PPh3)2(HL)]Cl (3) and [Ru(CO)(PPh3)2(L)] (4) (H2L = 2,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde-S-methyldithiocarbazate, PPh3 = triphenylphosphine) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses (C, H, N), FTIR, NMR (1H, 31P), ESI-MS and UV-visible spectroscopy. The molecular structure of (1) and (2) complexes was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. It showed a distorted square planar geometry for both complexes around the metal center, and the H2L adopt a bi-negative tridentate chelating mode. The interaction with biomolecules viz., calf thymus DNA (ct DNA), yeast RNA (tRNA), and BSA (bovine serum albumin) was examined by both UV-visible and fluorescence spectroscopies. The antioxidant activity of all compounds is discussed on basis of DPPH• (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) scavenging activity and showed better antioxidant activity for complexes compared to the ligand. The in vitro cytotoxicity of the compounds was tested on human (breast cancer (MCF7), colon cancer (HCT116), liver cancer (HepG2), and normal lung fibroblast (WI38)) cell lines, showing that complex (1) the most potent against MCF7 and complex (4) against HCT116 cell lines based on IC50 and selective indices (SI) values. So, both complexes were chosen for further studies such as DNA fragmentation, cell apoptosis, and cell cycle analyses. Complex (1) induced MCF7 cell death by cellular apoptosis and arrest cells at S phase. Complex (4) induced HCT116 cell death predominantly by cellular necrosis and arrested cell division at G2/M phase due to DNA damage.

Abstract
A series of N-benzoylated mononuclear copper(II) complexes of the type [Cu(L1-6)Cl2] (1-6), where L1= ethyl 4-benzoyl-5-methyl-7-aryl-4,7-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate, L2= ethyl 4-(4-nitrobenzoyl)-5-methyl-7-aryl-4,7-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate, L3 = ethyl 4-benzoyl-5-methyl-7-(4-methoxyphenyl)-4,7-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate, L4 = ethyl 4-(4-nitrobenzoyl)-5-methyl-7-(4-methoxyphenyl)-4,7-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate, L5 = ethyl 4-benzoyl-5-methyl-7-(4-chlorophenyl)-4,7-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate and L6 = ethyl 4-(4-nitrobenzoyl)-5-methyl-7-(4-chlorophenyl)-4,7-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate have been synthesized and characterized by spectral methods. Electron paramagnetic resonance spectra of complexes show four lines, characteristic of square planar geometry. The binding studies of the complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) revealed groove mode of binding, which were further supported by molecular docking studies. Gel electrophoresis experiments demonstrated the ability of the complexes to cleave plasmid DNA in the absence of activators. Further, the cytotoxicity activity of the complexes were examined on three cancerous cell lines (lung (A549), cervical (HeLa) and colon (HCT-15)), and on two normal cells (human embryonic kidney (HEK) and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC)) by MTT assay.

Abstract
The 2-hydrazino-pyridine precursor has been widely used to prepare ligands of various kinds by condensation with carbonyl compounds. These types of ligands are suitable for synthesizing novel transition metal (II) complexes with inter-esting magnetic properties. In this context we have synthesized the ligand 1-(2-hy-droxy-phenyl-2-ethyl-idene)-2-(pyridin-2-yl)hydrazine (HL) which was used in the preparation of the mononuclear title complex, [Ni(C13H12N3O)(C13H13N3O)]NO3·0.5H2O. As a result of the presence of HL and L in the [{Ni(HL)(L)}]+ unit, the complex appears to be a supramolecular dimer composed of the Δ(-) and Λ(-) optical isomers, which are linked by strong hydrogen-bonds. As well as the dimer generated by two mononuclear [{Ni(HL)(L)}]+ cations, the asymmetric unit also contains two nitrate anions and one water mol-ecule. Each Ni atom is coordinated to two ligand mol-ecules by a nitro-gen atom of the pyridine ring, an imine nitro-gen atom and a phenolic oxygen atom of one of the ligand mol-ecules and a phenolate oxygen atom of the other organic mol-ecules. The environment around the cation is a distorted octa-hedron. The basal planes are defined by the two nitro-gen atoms of the pyridine rings and the two phenolic oxygen atoms of the ligand, the apical positions being occupied by the azomethine atoms. The O atoms of one of the nitrate ions are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.745 (9):0.255 (9) ratio. In the crystal, the dimers are linked by numerous hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework.

Abstract
Synthesis of new complexes of Ni(II) (1) and Zn(II) (2) with [1-(2-hydroxy-3,5-diiodobenzylidene)-4-phenylthiosemicarbazide] have been reported. The composition of these two complexes 1 and 2 is discussed on the basis of IR, (1)H NMR and UV spectral data along with their X-ray crystallographic data. The crystal structure of these two complexes has revealed that the free ligand (L) is deprotonated twice at the oxygen and sulfur atoms and they are coordinated with the complexes through phenoxide-O, azomethine-N and thiolate-S atoms. The single-crystal X-ray structures of complex (1) exhibits a square planar structure, while complex (2) reveals trigonal bipyramidal distorted square based pyramidal structure. Anticancer activity of ligand and the complexes 1-2 are evaluated in human adenocarcinoma (MCF-7) cells. The preliminary bioassay indicates that the free ligand and the complexes 1-2 exhibit inhibitory activity against the human adenocarcinoma cancer cell lines.
