Abstract
This article dealt with the ruthenium and osmium derivatives of isomeric 1H-indazole-3-carboxylic acid/2H-indazole-3-carboxylic acid (H2L1) and 1H-benzimidazole-2-carboxylic acid (H2L2) along with the π-acidic bpy (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) and pap (pap = 2-phenylazopyridine) co-ligands. It thus extended structurally authenticated monomeric ([(bpy)2RuII(HL1-)]ClO4 [1]ClO4, (pap)2RuII(L12-) 2, (bpy)2OsII(L12-) 3, (pap)2OsII(L12-) 4, (bpy)2RuII(L22-) 5, (bpy)2OsII(L22-) 8, and (pap)2OsII(L22-) 9) and dimeric ([(bpy)2RuII(μ-L22-)RuII(bpy)2](ClO4)2 [6](ClO4)2) complexes. It also described modified L2'2- (L2'2- = 2,2'-bisbenzimidazolate)-bridged [(pap)2RuII(μ-L2'2-)RuII(pap)2](ClO4)2 [7](ClO4)2, where L2'2- was developed selectively with the {Ru(pap)2} metal fragment via in situ intermolecular C-C coupling of the two units of decarboxylated benzimidazolate. Moreover, chemical oxidation (OsII to OsIII) of (bpy)2OsII(L12-) 3 (E0 = 0.11 V versus SCE) and (bpy)2OsII(L22-) 8 (E0 = 0.12 V versus SCE) by AgClO4 yielded unprecedented OsIII-AgI derived polymeric {[(bpy)2OsIII-L12--AgI(CH3CN)](ClO4)2}n {[10](ClO4)2}n and dimeric [(bpy)2OsIII-L22--AgI(CH3CN)](ClO4)2 [11](ClO4)2 complexes as a function of trans and cis orientations of the active N2 donor with special reference to the carboxylate O2 of L2-, respectively. Microscopic (FE-SEM, TEM-EDX, and AFM) and DLS experiments suggested a homogeneously dispersed hollow spherical shaped morphology of {[10](ClO4)2}n with an average particle size of 200-400 nm as well as its non-dissociative feature in the aprotic medium. Experimental (structure, spectroscopy, and electrochemistry) and theoretical (DFT/TD-DFT) explorations revealed a redox non-innocent feature of L2- in the present coordination situations and the selective anion sensing (X = F-, CN-, and OAc-) event of [1]ClO4 involving a free NH group at the backface of HL1-, which proceeded via the NH···X hydrogen bonding interaction.

Abstract
The syntheses and characterizations of oxidorhenium(v) complexes trans-dichlorido [ReOCl2(PPh3)(L1a)] (trans-2a), cis-dichlorido [ReOCl2(PPh3)(L1b)] (cis-2b) and ethoxido-complex [ReO(OEt)(L1b)2] (4b), ligated with the dimethyloxazoline-phenol ligands HL1a and HL1b are described. The bidentate ligand HL1a (2-(4,4-dimethyl-4,5-dihydro-1,3-oxazol-2-yl)-phenol) is unsubstituted on the phenol ring; ligand HL1b (2-(4,4-dimethyl-4,5-dihydro-1,3-oxazol-2-yl)-4-nitrophenol) contains a nitro group in para-position to the hydroxy group. In the reaction of precursor complex [ReOCl3(PPh3)2] and HL1a the two stereoisomers cis/trans-2a, with respect to chlorido ligands, are formed. The solid state structures of both isomers cis- and trans-2a were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. In contrast, with ligand HL1b, only the cis-isomer cis-2b was obtained. Ethoxido-complex 4b is exclusively obtained when precursor [ReOCl3(OPPh3)(SMe2)] is reacted with 2 equiv. of HL1b in ethanol in the presence of the base 2,6-dimethylpyridine (lutidine). If no lutidine is added, chlorido-complex [ReOCl(L1b)2] (3b) is obtained. Complexes [ReOCl2(PPh3)(L1a)] (cis/trans-2a), [ReOCl2(PPh3)(L1b)] (cis-2b), [ReO(OMe)(L1a)2] (4a) and [ReO(OEt)(L1b)2] (4b) were tested as homogeneous catalysts in the benchmark reaction of cyclooctene epoxidation. The influence of isomerism and effects of ligand substitutions on catalytic activity was investigated. Based on the time-conversion plots it can be concluded that cis/trans-isomerism does not influence catalytic activity, but electron-withdrawing substituents, as in cis-2b, 3b and 4b, show a beneficial effect.

Abstract
Two new coordination polymers, namely, poly[[μ3-3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)propionato]zinc(II)], [Zn(C10H8N2O2)] n , (1), and poly[bis-[μ2-3-(1H-benzimid-azol-2-yl)propionato]cadmium(II)], [Cd(C10H8N2O2)2] n , (2) have been synthesized from 3-(1H-benzoimidazol-2-yl)propanoic acid ligands through a mixed-ligand synthetic strategy under a solvothermal environment, and studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 crystallizes in the ortho-rhom-bic space group Pbca and features a two-dimensional structure formed by a binuclear Zn2O4 core. Complex 2, however, crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c and forms a one-dimensional chain structure. The ZnII and CdII ions have different coordination numbers and the 3-(1H-benzoimidazol-2-yl)propano-ate ligands display different coordination modes. The structures reported here show the importance of the selection of metal ions and suitable ligands.
