Abstract
A stibium bond, i.e., a non-covalent interaction formed by covalently or coordinately bound antimony, occurs in chemical systems when there is evidence of a net attractive interaction between the electrophilic region associated with an antimony atom and a nucleophile in another, or the same molecular entity. This is a pnictogen bond and are likely formed by the elements of the pnictogen family, Group 15, of the periodic table, and is an inter- or intra-molecular non-covalent interaction. This overview describes a set of illustrative crystal systems that were stabilized (at least partially) by means of stibium bonds, together with other non-covalent interactions (such as hydrogen bonds and halogen bonds), retrieved from either the Cambridge Structure Database (CSD) or the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database (ICSD). We demonstrate that these databases contain hundreds of crystal structures of various dimensions in which covalently or coordinately bound antimony atoms in molecular entities feature positive sites that productively interact with various Lewis bases containing O, N, F, Cl, Br, and I atoms in the same or different molecular entities, leading to the formation of stibium bonds, and hence, being partially responsible for the stability of the crystals. The geometric features, pro-molecular charge density isosurface topologies, and extrema of the molecular electrostatic potential model were collectively examined in some instances to illustrate the presence of Sb-centered pnictogen bonding in the representative crystal systems considered.

Abstract
The organoantimony derivative of formula trans-O,O-[Ph3SbV(Carv)2] (TPAC) (CarvH = carvacrol) is obtained by the oxidation of triphenylstibine (Ph3SbIII) with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of carvacrol (CarvH). Physical methods such as X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy, single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD and PXRD), Attenuated Total Reflection Fourier Transform Infra-red (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy, Thermogravimetric Differential Thermal Analysis (TG-DTA) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DTG/DSC), confirm the retention of the formula of TPAC throughout the sample mass in solid state, while UV-Vis spectroscopy in the solution. TPAC is the first example of carvacrol (the main ingredient of oregano) covalently bonded to any metal ion. Only the trans-O,O-[Ph3Sb(Carv)2] isomer was isolated suggesting stereo-selectivity of the preparation route. TPAC inhibits in vitro both human breast adenocarcinoma cell lines: MCF-7 (positive to hormones receptor (HR +)), MDA-MB-231 (negative to hormones receptor (HR-)) stronger than normal human fetal lung fibroblast cells (MRC-5). The MCF-7 cells morphology, DNA fragmentation, Acridine Orange/Ethidium Bromide (AO/EB) Staining, cell cycle arrest and mitochondrial membrane permeabilization tests suggest an apoptotic pathway for cell death, especially, through the mitochondrion damage. The binding type of TPAC toward the calf thymus CT-DNA was initially deduced ex vivo from the differentiation of the DNA solution viscosity. Fluorescence spectroscopy confirms the interaction mode suggested. Spectroscopic evidence (FTIR, UV-Vis) suggest that glutathione (GSH) (a tripeptide over-expressed in tumor cells) induces conversion of non-active pentavalent antimony, which is contained in TPAC, to active trivalent one, providing a new strategy for the development of targeted chemotherapeutics.

Abstract
The novel 3D edta-linked heterometallic complex [Sb2Er(edta)2(H2O)4]NO3·4H2O (H4edta = ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) was synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and thermal analysis. The complex crystallizes in the monoclinic system with space group Pm. In the complex, each erbium(III) ion is connected with antimony(III) ions bridging by four carboxylic oxygen atoms, and in each [Sb(edta)]- anion, the antimony(III) ion is hexacoordinated by two nitrogen atoms and four oxygen atoms from the edta4- ions, together with a lone electron pair at the equatorial position. The erbium(III) ion is octacoordinated by four oxygen atoms from four different edta4- ions and four oxygen atoms from the coordinated water molecules. The carboxylate bridges between antimony and erbium atoms form a planar array, parallel to the (1 0 0) plane. There is an obvious weak interaction between antimony atom and oxygen atom of the carboxyl group from the adjacent layer. The degradation of the complex proceeds in several steps and the water molecules and ligands are successively emitted, and the residues of the thermal decomposition are antimonous oxide and erbium(III) oxide. The complex was evaluated for its antimicrobial activities by agar diffusion method, and it has good activities against the test bacterial organisms.

Abstract
New antimony(III) complexes, [Sb(2-aminopyridine)2Cl3] (1a), [Sb(2-aminopyridine)2Br3] (1b), [Sb(5-methyl-2-aminopyridine)2Cl3] (2a), [Sb(5-methyl-2-aminopyridine)2Br3] (2b), [Sb(2-aminopyrimidine)2Cl3] (3a), [Sb(2-aminopyrimidine)2Br3] (3b), [Sb(4,6-dimethoxy-2-aminopyrimidine)2Cl3] (4a), [Sb(4,6-dimethoxy-2-aminopyrimidine)2Br3] (4b), [Sb(2-amino-1,3,5-triazine)2Cl3] (5a), [Sb(2-amino-1,3,5-triazine)2Br3] (5b), [Sb(2-guanidinobenzimidazole) Cl3] (6a), [Sb(2-guanidinobenzimidazole)Br3] (6b) [Sb(2- benzyl-2-thiopseudeourea)2Cl3] (7a) and [Sb(2- benzyl-2-thiopseudeourea)2Br3] (7b) were synthesized. Their structures were characterized by elemental analysis, molecular conductivity, FT-IR, (1)H NMR, LC-MS techniques. Glutathione reductase inhibitor activity, antimicrobial activity and DNA cleavage studies of the complexes were determined. The geometrical structures of the complexes were optimized by DFT/B3LYP method with LANL2DZ as basis set. Calculation results indicated that the equilibrium geometries of all complexes have square pyramidal shape. About 350 molecular descriptors (constitutional, topological, geometrical, electrostatic and quantum chemical parameters) of the complexes were calculated by DFT/B3LYP/LANL2DZ method with CODESSA software. Calculated molecular parameters were correlated to glutathione reductase inhibitory activity values (pIC50) of all complexes by Best Multi-Linear Regression (BMLR) method. Obtained two-parameter QSAR equation shows that increase in "maximum partial charge for a H atom" and decrease in HOMO-LUMO gap would be favorable for the glutathione reductase inhibitory activity.
