Abstract
The craving for controllable assembly of geometrical nanostructures from artificial building motifs, which is routinely achieved in naturally occurring systems, has been a perpetual and outstanding challenge in the field of chemistry and materials science. In particular, the assembly of nanostructures with different geometries and controllable dimensions is crucial for their functionalities and is usually achieved with distinct assembling subunits via convoluted assembly strategies. Herein, we report that with the same building subunits of α-cyclodextrin (α-CD)/block copolymer inclusion complex (IC), geometrical nanoplatelets with hexagonal, square, and circular shapes could be produced by simply controlling the solvent conditions via one-step assembly procedure, driven by the crystallization of IC. Interestingly, these nanoplatelets with different shapes shared the same crystalline lattice and could therefore be interconverted to each other by merely tuning the solvent compositions. Moreover, the dimensions of these platelets could be decently controlled by tuning the overall concentrations.

Abstract
Amylose inclusion complexes were prepared in aqueous solution with the amphiphilic moiety 3-pentadecylphenol via a direct mixing method. Attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy as well as differential scanning calorimetry confirmed the formation of amylose inclusion complexes. The morphology of the synthesized complexes is sensitive to temperature, and X-ray data revealed that the inclusion complexes exhibited distinct structures at different temperatures. Small-angle X-ray scattering data indicated ordered lamellar structures of the synthesized complexes at room temperature, and wide-angle X-ray scattering profiles showed the transformation of the crystalline structure as a function of the temperature. The results of this research will help to understand the relationship between the inclusion complex structures with temperature.

Abstract
A supra-amphiphilic polymer (SAP) with controlled molecular structures is constructed, in this work, via self-complementary hydrogen bonding of guanosine groups between a hydrophilic block, poly(N-isopropylacrylamide), and a hydrophobic block, poly(ε-caprolactone). By simply changing the mixing ratio of the guanosine-capped hydrophilic and hydrophobic blocks, a series of SAPs with tailored nanostructures are constructed, which can further self-assemble into different nano-aggregates in solution, including spheres, vesicles and large vesicle micelles. The thermo-induced phase transition of the hydrophilic block induces the fusion and aggregation of the nanoparticles into irregular particles upon heating, which further transform to large compound vesicles after cooling.

Abstract
Biomechanical performance of functional cartilage is executed by the exclusive anisotropic composition and spatially varying intricate architecture in articulating ends of diarthrodial joint. Osteochondral tissue constituting the articulating ends comprise superfical soft cartilage over hard subchondral bone sandwiching interfacial soft-hard tissue. The shock-absorbent, lubricating property of cartilage and mechanical stability of subchondral bone regions are rendered by extended chemical structure of glycosaminoglycans and mineral deposition, respectively. Extracellular matrix glycosaminoglycans analogous polysaccharides are major class of hydrogels investigated for restoration of functional cartilage. Recently, injectable hydrogels have gained momentum as it offers patient compliance, tunable mechanical properties, cell deliverability, and facile administration at physiological condition with long-term functionality and hyaline cartilage construction. Interestingly, facile modifiable functional groups in carbohydrate polymers impart tailorability of desired physicochemical properties and versatile injectable chemistry for the development of highly potent biomimetic in situ forming scaffold. The scaffold design strategies have also evolved from single component to bi- or multilayered and graded constructs with osteogenic properties for deep subchondral regeneration. This review highlights the significance of polysaccharide structure-based functions in engineering cartilage tissue, injectable chemistries, strategies for combining analogous matrices with cells/stem cells and biomolecules and multicomponent approaches for osteochondral mimetic constructs. Further, the rheology and precise spatiotemporal positioning of cells in hydrogel bioink for rapid prototyping of complex three-dimensional anisotropic cartilage have also been discussed.

Abstract
Poly(ethylene glycol)-grafted-poly(amido amine) (PEGylated-PAMAM) dendrimers have attracted increasing amounts of attention because of their improved stability, toxicity, and better particle drug leakage property. The complexation of α-cyclodextrin (α-CD) with grafted PEG segments on the surface of PAMAM dendrimers was elucidated by light scattering and titration calorimetry. At pH 10, complexation between α-CD and PEGylated-PAMAM occurred once α-CD was titrated into the PAMAM solution. We observed for the first time a unique phenomenon at pH 2, where no binding took place until a critical α-CD concentration (C*) of ∼8.0 mM was reached. The size of the nanostructures increased from 6.7 to 57.6 nm when the α-CD concentration was increased from 0.5 to 15 mM at pH 2. The zeta potential of PEGylated-PAMAM at pH 2 was +6.7 mV. Thus, the dendrimers possessed positive charges attributed to the protonation of primary amine groups on PAMAM chains that impart electrostatic repulsive forces to the system. The morphology of the complex is expected to be different at two different pH values (2 and 10) because the former produces a clear solution and the latter forms a turbid solution with white precipitates.
