Abstract
Kidney Stone Disease (KSD) is a globally prevalent condition that can be effectively addressed through proper education. This study investigated the awareness of kidney stones among refugees residing in northern Jordan. A questionnaire was administered to 487 refugees of diverse ages and socioeconomic backgrounds. Notably, 97.3% of the respondents had not attended university, and 30.8% held unskilled jobs. Upon familiarizing themselves with the signs and symptoms of kidney stones, 16.22% of men and 12.32% of women reported experiencing such symptoms. This revealed a significant association, suggesting that men might be more susceptible to developing kidney stones than women due to a lack of medical follow-up and examination for men in the camp. However, 38.77% of individuals were uncertain whether they had kidney stones. Furthermore, 38.96% of refugees were unsure about which healthcare professional to consult when experiencing kidney stone symptoms. This report highlights a serious issue with refugees' knowledge of the symptoms, causes, and treatments for kidney stones. The results indicate that Syrian refugees face challenges in acquiring adequate disease awareness, potentially related to issues of migration and war, including low levels of education, limited income, living in camps, and difficulties accessing treatments when needed. Implementing additional policies is necessary to address these challenges among Syrian refugees; however, further studies are needed to validate these findings.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The relationship between the NHHR and kidney stone risk remains unknown. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between adult NHHR and kidney stone occurrence in USA. METHODS This study used a variety of statistical techniques such as threshold effects, subgroup analysis, smooth curve fitting, multivariate logistic regression, and data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 2007 to 2014. We aimed to clarify the relationship between the NHHR and kidney stone risk. RESULTS The average age of the 21,058 individuals in this research was 49.70 ± 17.64 years. The mean NHHR was 3.00 ± 1.47, and the overall prevalence of kidney stone occurrence was 9.05%. The prevalence within the quartile ranges (Q1-Q4) was 7.01%, 8.71%, 9.98%, and 10.49%, respectively. The overall average recurrence rate of kidney stones was 3.05%, demonstrating a significant increase with increasing NHHR (Q1: 1.92%, Q2: 2.92%, Q3: 3.35%, Q4: 4.00%, P < 0.01). The occurrence of kidney stones increased by 4% (95% CI: 1.00-1.08, P = 0.0373) and the chance of recurrence increased by 9% (95% CI: 1.03-1.14, P < 0.01) with each unit increase in NHHR. The interaction analysis results demonstrated that the relationship between the NHHR and the risk of kidney stones was not significantly impacted by the following factors: sex, body mass index, poverty income ratio, diabetes, or hypertension. Curve fitting and threshold effect analysis also demonstrated a non-linear association, with a breakpoint found at 3.17, between the NHHR and the risk of kidney stones. CONCLUSIONS In adults in the USA, there is a substantial correlation between elevated NHHR levels and a higher probability of kidney stones developing and recurring. Timely intervention and management of NHHR may effectively mitigate the occurrence and recurrence of kidney stones.

Abstract
This research demonstrates the diuretic effect of naringenin, a flavanone aglycone found in citrus, on spontaneously hypertensive female and male rats (SHR). The data reinforces existing literature findings that male SHR exhibits higher systolic blood pressure than age-matched females. Urine volume assessed over 8 hours was lower when obtained from SHR males than females. When these animals were orally treated with different doses of naringenin (0.1-1 mg/kg), this increased urinary volume in both genders at the highest dose tested. In contrast, the lowest dose promoted a significant natriuretic effect. The other electrolytes analyzed in urine were not significantly altered, except potassium excretion, which was shown to be increased in the urine of SHR males. Furthermore, naringenin showed promise in reducing calcium oxalate (CaOx) crystal formation in an in vitro model, presenting potential advantages in lithiasis prevention.

Abstract
Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), a predominant phytochemical in tea plant, has been reported to prevent kidney stone formation but with vague mechanism. We investigated modulatory effects of EGCG (at 0.1-100 µM) on calcium oxalate monohydrate (COM) crystals at various stages of kidney stone development. EGCG significantly increased crystal size (at 1-100 µM), but decreased crystal number (at 10-100 µM), resulting in unchanged crystal mass and volume. Interestingly, EGCG at 10-100 µM caused morphological change of the crystals from typical monoclinic prismatic to coffee-bean-like shape, which represented atypical/aberrant form of COM as confirmed by attenuated total reflection - Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy. EGCG at all concentrations significantly inhibited crystal growth in a concentration-dependent manner. However, only 100 µM and 10-100 µM of EGCG significantly inhibited crystal aggregation and crystal-cell adhesion, respectively. Immunofluorescence staining (without permeabilization) revealed that surface expression of heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) (a COM crystal receptor) on MDCK renal cells was significantly decreased by 10 µM EGCG, whereas other surface COM receptors (annexin A1, annexin A2, enolase 1 and ezrin) remained unchanged. Immunoblotting showed that 10 µM EGCG did not alter total level of HSP90 in MDCK cells, implicating that its decreased surface expression was due to translocation. Our data provide a piece of evidence explaining mechanism underlying the anti-lithiatic property of EGCG by inhibition of COM crystal growth, aggregation and crystal-cell adhesion via reduced surface expression of HSP90, which is an important COM crystal receptor.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between recurrence-free survival (RFS) and perirenal fat thickness (PFT) in a cohort of Chinese population with unilateral nephrolithiasis. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 81 patients with unilateral nephrolithiasis in our center from January 2019 to June 2019. PFT measured on computed tomography (CT) scans was evaluated. Kaplan-Meier curves and log-rank tests were used to assess significant differences in RSF between high-PFT and low-PFT groups within sexes. Univariable and multivariable Cox regression analyses were used to evaluate the potential risk factors for renal stone recurrence. RESULTS High PFT was significantly associated with high BMI and hyperlipidemia (p = .003 and.047, respectively). The PFT of stone-bearing kidney was significantly greater than PFT of non-stone-bearing kidney (0.77 ± 0.60 cm vs. 0.67 ± 0.58 cm, p = .002) . During the follow-up periods (median 31 months), 21 (25.9%) patients experienced ipsilateral renal stone recurrence. In addition, Kaplan-Meier survival curves showed that patients with low PFT had a significant better RFS than those with high PFT (p = .012). In the univariable Cox analyses, male sex and high PFT were significantly associated with a poor RFS (p = .042 and .018, respectively). Moreover, both male sex and high PFT retained significance in the multivariable analyses (p = .045 and .020, respectively). CONCLUSIONS Our findings suggested that PFT is a noninvasive and feasible parameter, which may help in the risk stratification of renal stone recurrence in the follow-up periods.

Abstract
Urolithiasis is one of the most common urological diseases worldwide with an unclear aetiology. However, a growing body of evidence suggests the potential role of molecular disturbances of the inflammation as well as oxidative and nitrative stresses, in the pathogenesis of urolithiasis. Therefore, we aimed to detect the potential association between six selected single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and the development of nephrolithiasis. Moreover, we verified the association of urolithiasis development and mRNA expression of IL-6, IL-8, SOD2, and NOS2 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). Total genomic DNA and mRNA were isolated from the peripheral blood of 112 patients with urolithiasis and 114 healthy subjects. Using Taq-Man® probes, we genotyped the following SNPs: rs1800797 and rs2069845 in IL-6, rs2227307 in IL-8, rs4880 in SOD2, rs2297518 and rs2779249 in NOS2. In turn, the evaluation of mRNA expression was performed using real-time PCR and 2-ΔCt methods. We found that the C/T genotype of the c.47 T>C-SOD2 SNP increased the frequency of urolithiasis occurrence whereas the T/T homozygote of the same polymorphism decreased the risk of urolithiasis development in the Polish population. Moreover, our study confirmed that patients with urolithiasis were characterised by decreased IL-6, IL-8, and SOD2 mRNA expression levels compared to the controls. In conclusion, our results suggest that polymorphic variants and changes in mRNA expression of IL-6, IL8, SOD2, and NOS2 may be involved in the pathophysiology of urolithiasis.

Abstract
Urolithiasis affects people in all age groups, but over the last decades there has been an increasing incidence in children. Typical symptoms include abdominal or flank pain with haematuria; in acute cases dysuria, fever or vomiting also occur. Ultrasound is considered the modality of choice in paediatric urolithiasis because it can be used to identify most clinically relevant stones. Complementary imaging modalities such as conventional radiographs or non-contrast computed tomography should be limited to specific clinical situations. Management of kidney stones includes dietary, pharmacological and urological interventions, depending on stone size, location or type, and the child's condition. With a very high incidence of underlying metabolic abnormalities and significant recurrence rates in paediatric urolithiasis, thorough metabolic evaluation and follow-up examination studies are of utmost importance.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study aimed to compare the characteristics of asymptomatic and symptomatic nephrolithiasis in patients who underwent surgical treatment for kidney stones. MATERIALS AND METHODS Between 2015 and 2019, 245 patients who underwent percutaneous nephrolithotomy or retrograde intrarenal surgery for kidney stones were included. The patients were divided into asymptomatic (n=124) and symptomatic (n=121) groups. All patients underwent blood and urine tests, preoperative non-contrast computed tomography, and postoperative stone composition analysis. We retrospectively analyzed and compared the characteristics of the patients and stones, operation time, stone-free rate, and postoperative complications between the two groups. RESULTS In the asymptomatic group, mean body mass index (BMI) was significantly higher (25.7±3.8 kg/m² vs. 24.3±2.8 kg/m², p=0.002) and urine pH was significantly lower (5.6±0.9 vs. 5.9±0.9, p=0.013). The ratio of calcium oxalate dihydrate stones was significantly higher in the symptomatic group (5.3% vs. 15.5%, p=0.023). No significant differences were observed in stone characteristics, postoperative outcomes, or complications. In the multivariate logistic regression analysis for predicting variables for asymptomatic renal stones, BMI (odds ratio [OR], 1.144; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.038-1.260; p=0.007), and urine pH (OR, 0.608; 95% CI, 0.407-0.910; p=0.016) were independent predictive variables for asymptomatic renal stones. CONCLUSIONS This study demonstrated that thorough medical check-ups are needed for the early detection of renal stones in individuals with a high BMI or low urine pH.

Abstract
Renal lithiasis is less frequent in children than in adults; in pediatrics, lithiasis may be caused by genetic abnormalities, infections, and complex uropathies, but the association of urological and metabolic abnormalities is not uncommon. The aim of this study is to provide a synthesis of nephrolithiasis in children and to emphasize the role of hydration in its treatment. As an etiology is reported in 50% of cases, with a genetic origin in 10 to 20%, it is proposed to systematically perform a complete metabolic assessment after the first stone in a child. Recent data in the field reported increased incidence of pediatric urolithiasis notably for calcium oxalate stones. These changes in the epidemiology of stone components may be attributable to metabolic and environmental factors, where hydration seems to play a crucial role. In case of pediatric urolithiasis, whatever its cause, it is of utmost importance to increase water intake around 2 to 3 L/m2 per day on average. The objective is to obtain a urine density less than 1010 on a dipstick or below 300 mOsm/L, especially with the first morning urine. Some genetic diseases may even require a more active 24 h over-hydration, e.g., primary hyperoxaluria and cystinuria; in such cases naso-gastric tubes or G-tubes may be proposed. Tap water is adapted for children with urolithiasis, with limited ecological impact and low economical cost. For children with low calcium intake, the use of calcium-rich mineral waters may be discussed in some peculiar cases, even in case of urolithiasis. In contrast, sugar-sweetened beverages are not recommended. In conclusion, even if parents and patients sometimes have the feeling that physicians do not propose "fancy" therapeutic drugs, hydration and nutrition remain cornerstones of the management of pediatric urolithiasis.

Abstract
Introduction and aim Nephrolithiasis is one of the most common urological disorders worldwide. Tea is one of the most popular drinks worldwide. This study aimed to explore the association between tea intake and hospitalized nephrolithiasis in Chinese adults. Methods The patients and healthy participants were from the Shenyang sub-cohort of Tianjin Chronic Low-Grade Systemic Inflammation and Health Cohort Study. After selecting and matching by age (±1 year) and sex using the 1:2 ratio, 834 participants were included in this study. Of these, 278 patients had hospitalized nephrolithiasis and 556 were healthy controls. The tea intake was assessed using a validated self-administered food frequency questionnaire. Multivariate conditional logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the association between tea intake and hospitalized nephrolithiasis. Results After adjustment, a higher frequency of tea intake was found to be negatively associated with the risk of hospitalized nephrolithiasis. Compared with participants who never drank tea, the odds ratio (95% confidence interval) [OR (95% CI)] for participants who drank ≥1 cup (180 mL) of tea per day was 0.418 (0.192–0.911) (P for trend = 0.013). Moreover, the adjusted OR (95% CI) for participants who drank ≥1 cup of green tea and black tea per day was 0.189 (0.069–0.520) (P for trend <0.001) and 1.248 (0.437–3.559) (P for trend = 0.654), respectively. Conclusions Increased tea intake was found to be associated with a lower risk of hospitalized nephrolithiasis among Chinese adults. This finding may assist in the prevention of hospitalized nephrolithiasis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To explore the utility of radiomics and deep learning model in assessing the risk factors for sepsis after flexible ureteroscopy lithotripsy (FURL) or percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) in patients with ureteral calculi. METHODS This retrospective analysis included 847 patients with treatment-naive proximal ureteral calculi who received FURL or PCNL. All participants were preoperatively conducted non-contrast computed tomography scans, and relevant clinical information was meanwhile collected. After propensity score matching, the radiomics model was established to predict the onset of sepsis. A deep learning model was also adapted to further improve the prediction accuracy. Performance of these trained models was verified in another independent external validation set including 40 cases of ureteral calculi patients. RESULTS The overall incidence of sepsis after FURL or PCNL was 5.9%. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression analysis revealed 26 predictive variables, with an overall AUC of 0.881 (95% CI, 0.813-0.931) and an AUC of 0.783 (95% CI, 0.766-0.801) in external validation cohort. Judicious adaption of a deep neural network (DNN) model to our dataset improved the AUC to 0.920 (95% CI, 0.906-0.933) in the internal validation. To eliminate the overfitting, external validation was carried out for DNN model (AUC = 0.874 (95% CI, 0.858-0.891)). CONCLUSIONS The DNN was more effective than the LASSO model in revealing risk factors for sepsis after FURL or PCNL in single ureteral calculi patients, and females are more susceptible to sepsis than males. Deep learning models have the potential to act as gatekeepers to facilitate patient stratification. KEY POINTS • Both the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) and deep neural network (DNN) models were shown to be effective in sepsis prediction. • The DNN model achieved superior prediction capability, with an AUC of 0.920 (95% CI, 0.906-0.933). • DNN-assisted model has potential to serve as a gatekeeper to facilitate patient stratification.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Evidence exists reporting that Pyrrosia lingua (PL, Xinhui Pharmaceutical, Polypodiaceae) alleviates nephrolithiasis in rat models. The precipitation of calcium oxalate may result in kidney stones, and the intestinal microbiota is critical for oxalate metabolism. Therefore, we attempt to delineate the molecular mechanism underlying the effect of PL on nephrolithiasis and its association with gut microbiota. METHODS Following differential flora analysis in gutMEGA, the network relationship of PL and nephrolithiasis was analyzed based on the TCMSP, DisGeNET and STRING databases. Moreover, the kidney stone model rats were fed with different doses of PL powder and PL extract. In addition, metabolomics technology was employed to identify the active ingredients in PL extract and the microbial metabolites in rat feces. RESULTS The effect of PL on the nephrolithiasis was based on quercetin and kaempferol by mediating the toll-like receptor signaling pathway and regulating the expression levels of interleukin 6, tumor necrosis factor, mitogen activated protein kinase 8, and secreted phosphoprotein 1. PL significantly reduced the levels of urine oxalic acid, urine calcium, and osteopontin (OPN) levels in rat models of nephrolithiasis. Notably, PL extract decreased these two indicators to lower levels. Furthermore, contents of Oxalobacter formigenes, Bacteriodetes, Bifidobacterium and Fecalibacterium were obviously reduced after treatment with PL extract. CONCLUSION PL powder and its active extracts reduce the oxalate level in urine by regulating oxalate metabolism, thus ameliorating the damage of kidney tissues and preventing kidney stone formation. This study suggests the use of PL and its extracts as an alternative source of promising agents that might directly or indirectly inhibit the progression of kidney stone diseases.

Abstract
Nephrolithiasis ranks third among urological diseases in terms of prevalence, making up about 15% of cases. The continued increase in the incidence of nephrolithiasis is most probably due to changes in eating habits (high protein, sodium, and sugar diets) and lifestyle (reduced physical activity) in all developed countries. Some 80% of all kidney stones cases are oxalate urolithiasis, which is also characterized by the highest risk of recurrence. Frequent relapses of nephrolithiasis contribute to severe complications and high treatment costs. Unfortunately, there is no known effective way to prevent urolithiasis at present. In cases of diet-related urolithiasis, dietary changes may prevent recurrence. However, in some patients, the condition is unrelated to diet; in such cases, there is evidence to support the use of stone-related medications. Interestingly, a growing body of evidence indicates the potential of the microbiome to reduce the risk of developing renal colic. Previous studies have primarily focused on the use of Oxalobacterformigenes in patients with urolithiasis. Unfortunately, this bacterium is not an ideal probiotic due to its antibiotic sensitivity and low pH. Therefore, subsequent studies sought to find bacteria which are capable of oxalate degradation, focusing on well-known probiotics including Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains, Eubacterium lentum, Enterococcus faecalis, and Escherichia coli.

Abstract
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is associated with extra-intestinal manifestations (EIMs) that tend to parallel intestinal activity and have a debilitating effect on the quality of life. EIMs primarily affect the joints, skin, and eyes with less frequent involvement of the liver, kidney, and pancreas. This article reviews the prevalence of musculoskeletal, dermatological, ocular, and other manifestations in IBD and their coalition with underlying intestinal inflammation. EIMs occurring independently of intestinal activity are managed by targeted therapies, categorical regimens, and specific treatments. On the other hand, EIMs paralleling the bowel activity are carefully monitored while the IBD is brought under control. Since the etiology of the disease is responsible for the development of the EIMs, the research scrutinizes the identified pathogenic mechanisms that tend to involve genetic susceptibility, aberrant self-recognition, and autoantibodies directed against organ-specific antigens shared by intestinal and extra-intestinal organs. This article also provides an overview of the epidemiology, clinical features, diagnostic modalities, and management of the EIMs associated with IBD.

Abstract
Urolithiasis is the third most common urological disease after urinary tract infections and prostate diseases, and it is characterised by an occurrence rate of about 15%, which continues to rise. The increase in the incidence of kidney stones observed in recent decades, is most likely caused by modifications in dietary habits (high content of protein, sodium and sugar diet) and lifestyle (reduced physical activity) in all industrialised countries. Moreover, men are more likely than women to be diagnosed with kidney stones. A growing body of evidence suggests that inflammation, oxidant-antioxidant imbalance, angiogenesis, purine metabolism and urea cycle disorders may play a crucial role in nephrolithiasis development. Patients with urolithiasis were characterised by an increased level of reactive oxygen species (ROS), the products of lipid peroxidation, proinflammatory cytokines as well as proangiogenic factors, compared to controls. Furthermore, it has been shown that deficiency and disorders of enzymes involved in purine metabolism and the urea cycle might be causes of deposit formation. ROS generation suggests that the course of kidney stones might be additionally potentiated by inflammation, purine metabolism and the urea cycle. On the other hand, ROS overproduction may induce activation of angiogenesis, and thus, allows deposit aggregation.

Abstract
Hyperoxaluria is one of the leading causes of calcium oxalate stone formation in the kidney. Since hyperoxaluria produces Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) stress in the kidney, it is thus likely that the adaptive unfolded protein response might affect the mitochondrial population as ER and mitochondria share close physical and functional interactions mandatory for several biological processes. Thus this work was designed to study the putative effects of endoplasmic reticulum stress on the renal mitochondria during hyperoxaluria-induced nephrolithiasis. The results showed that hyperoxaluria induced an ER stress led to the unfolded protein response in the renal tissue of experimental rats. Hampered mitochondrion functioning was detected with decreased mitochondrial membrane potential and upsurged mitochondria calcium. These changes in the mitochondria function and ER stress are preceded by apoptosis. The expression of Sigma-1 receptor protein found in the Mitochondria associated ER membranes, the connecting link between ER and mitochondria was found to decrease in the hyperoxaluric rats. Inhibition of ER stress by 4-Phenylbutyric acid prevented the decrease in mitochondria membrane potential and increase in mitochondria calcium observed in hyperoxaluric rats. Also, it restored the protein expression of the sigma-1 receptor protein. On the other hand, N-acetyl cysteine had a nominal impact on the reduction of the ER stress-induced mitochondrial dysfunction. In conclusion, our data showed that hyperoxaluria induces renal ER stress which triggers mitochondria dysfunction, might be via alteration in the sigma-1 receptor protein in the mitochondria-associated ER membranes, which leads to apoptosis, renal injury, and calcium oxalate crystal deposition.

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate the effect of pregnancy on the clinical presentation, inpatient procedure rates, and length of hospital stay, on women with urolithiasis. MATERIALS AND METHODS We carried out a matched cohort study using the United States' Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project-Nationwide Inpatient Sample database from 1999 to 2015. Pregnant women with urolithiasis were compared to age-matched non-pregnant women (1:1) with urolithiasis. Baseline clinical characteristics were compared between the two cohorts and the effect of pregnancy on select inpatient procedural and clinical outcomes was evaluated using conditional logistic regression models. RESULTS There were 42,113 pregnant patients diagnosed with urolithiasis during the study period. It was observed that pregnant patients were less likely to present with classic clinical symptoms of urinary tract stones, such as flank pain, OR 0.63, 95% CI 0.56-0.70, and fever, 0.22 (0.16-0.30), but tended to have longer hospital stays. The pregnant patients were less commonly affected by infectious conditions, namely urinary tract infections, 0.56 (0.53-0.59), sepsis, 0.17 (0.14-0.20), and pyelonephritis, 0.34 (0.36-0.44). Invasive and surgical procedures were less commonly performed in pregnant women. CONCLUSIONS Pregnant women admitted with urolithiasis appear to be less symptomatic with fewer interventions and complications than non-pregnant women with urolithiasis.

Abstract
The aim of work was the epidemiological analysis of the occurrence of sialolithiasis of the submandibular gland in adults and the evaluation of the ultrastructure of salivary stones. The study sample consisted of 44 sialoliths. Analysis of the structure and chemical composition of sialoliths was performed using a Scanning Electron Microscope and Raman Spectroscopy. Comparing our results with the literature we can say that the epidemiology of sialolithiasis has not changed significantly over the past 50 years. A wide variety of sialoliths structure was observed. In 75% (33) cases a layered structure of salivary stones was observed, while in 25% (11) - homogeneous structure. The various distribution of organic and inorganic components was observed among all the analyzed sialoliths. Raman spectroscopy allows for preliminary analysis of the sialoliths structure with only a qualitative assessment of their composition, which significantly reduces the research value of this method. The presence of organic and inorganic compounds in the core and inner layers of the salivary glands stones confirms 2 basic theories of the formation of sialoliths: inflammation and deposition of the inorganic component as a result of disruption of saliva flow in the salivary glands.

Abstract
Gastrointestinal (GI) pain - a form of visceral pain - is common in some disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn's disease and pancreatitis. However, identifying the cause of GI pain frequently represents a diagnostic challenge as the clinical presentation is often blurred by concomitant autonomic and somatic symptoms. In addition, GI pain can be nociceptive, neuropathic and associated with cancer, but in many cases multiple aetiologies coexist in an individual patient. Mechanisms of GI pain are complex and include both peripheral and central sensitization and the involvement of the autonomic nervous system, which has a role in generating the symptoms that frequently accompany pain. Treatment of GI pain depends on the precise type of pain and the primary disorder in the patient but can include, for example, pharmacological therapy, cognitive behavioural therapies, invasive surgical procedures, endoscopic procedures and lifestyle alterations. Owing to the major differences between organ involvement, disease mechanisms and individual factors, treatment always needs to be personalized and some data suggest that phenotyping and subsequent individual management of GI pain might be options in the future.
