Abstract
In the realm of nanomaterial research, copper telluride and cobalt telluride have individually attracted considerable attention owing to their unique properties and potential applications. However, there exists a notable gap in the literature when it comes to the exploration of composite materials derived from these elements. From this point of view, a ternary CuCoTe nanocomposite was prepared using the microwave synthesis method. Various characterizations were performed by varying the power and irradiation time. X-Ray diffraction study and transmission electron microscopy analysis confirmed the polycrystalline nature of the material with Cu2Te and CoTe hexagonal phases. Field emission scanning electron microscopy images reveal nanoparticle-like morphology, which remains unchanged even when the time of irradiation increases. In addition, the nanoparticle size of the material lies in the range of 30-39 nm. The differential scanning calorimetry inferred various exothermic and endothermic peaks. Meanwhile, the optical analysis from the UV-visible study shows the red-shifted absorbance, enabling the material for semiconductor and photovoltaic devices. Furthermore, the optical bandgap of the material varies in the range from 2.45 to 3.61 eV, which reveals the tuneable bandgap desiring the material for various optoelectronic applications. The frequency-temperature-dependent dielectric study gives results for dielectric parameters, conductivity, and impedance behaviour. The material's dielectric constant, dielectric loss, and AC conductivity enhance with the increase in temperature. This behaviour of the material broadens the area of applicability in energy storage devices.

Abstract
This review captures the synthesis, assembly, properties, and applications of copper chalcogenide NCs, which have achieved significant research interest in the last decade due to their compositional and structural versatility. The outstanding functional properties of these materials stems from the relationship between their band structure and defect concentration, including charge carrier concentration and electronic conductivity character, which consequently affects their optoelectronic, optical, and plasmonic properties. This, combined with several metastable crystal phases and stoichiometries and the low energy of formation of defects, makes the reproducible synthesis of these materials, with tunable parameters, remarkable. Further to this, the review captures the progress of the hierarchical assembly of these NCs, which bridges the link between their discrete and collective properties. Their ubiquitous application set has cross-cut energy conversion (photovoltaics, photocatalysis, thermoelectrics), energy storage (lithium-ion batteries, hydrogen generation), emissive materials (plasmonics, LEDs, biolabelling), sensors (electrochemical, biochemical), biomedical devices (magnetic resonance imaging, X-ray computer tomography), and medical therapies (photochemothermal therapies, immunotherapy, radiotherapy, and drug delivery). The confluence of advances in the synthesis, assembly, and application of these NCs in the past decade has the potential to significantly impact society, both economically and environmentally.

Abstract
Since Penn et al. first discovered the oriented attachment growth of crystals, the oriented attachment mechanism has now become a major research focus in the crystal field, and extensive efforts have been carried out over the past decade to systematically investigate the growth mechanism and the statistical kinetic models. However, most of the work mainly focuses on the experimental results on the oriented attachment growth. In contrast to the previous reviews, our review provides an overview of the recent theoretical advances in oriented attachment kinetics combined with experimental evidences. After a brief introduction to the van der Waals interaction and Coulombic interaction in a colloidal system, the correlation between the kinetic models of oriented attachment growth and the interactions is then our focus. The impact of in situ experimental observation techniques on the study of oriented attachment growth is examined with insightful examples. In addition, the advances in theoretical simulations mainly investigating the thermodynamic origin of these interactions at the atomic level are reviewed. This review seeks to understand the oriented attachment crystal growth from a kinetic point of view and provide a quantitative methodology to rationally design an oriented attachment system with pre-evaluated crystal growth parameters.

Abstract
This paper develops a facile solution-based method to synthesize hollow Cu2-x Te nanocrystals (NCs) with tunable interior volume based on the Kirkendall effect. Transmission electron microscopy images and time-dependent absorption spectra reveal the temporal growth process from solid copper nanoparticles to hollow Cu2-x Te NCs. Furthermore, the as-prepared hollow Cu2-x Te NCs show enhanced sensitivity for the detection of carbon monoxide (CO), which is often referred to as the "silent killer". The response and recovery time of the as-prepared sensor for the detection of 100 ppm CO gas are estimated to be about 21 and 100 s, respectively, which are sufficient to render it a promising candidate for effective CO gas-sensing applications. Such enhanced performance is achieved owing to the small grain size and large specific area of the hollow nanostructures. Therefore, the obtained hollow NCs based on the Kirkendall effect may have the potential as new functional blocks for high-performance gas sensors.
