Abstract
The attention to chiral drugs has been raised to an unprecedented level as drug discovery and development strategies grow rapidly. However, separation of enantiomers is still a huge task, which leads to an increasing significance to equip a wider range of expertise in chiral separation science to meet the current and future challenges. In the last few decades, remarkable progress of chiral resolution has been achieved. This review summarizes and classifies chiral resolution methods in analytical scale and preparative scale systematically and comprehensively, including crystallization-based method, inclusion complexation, chromatographic separation, capillary electrophoresis, kinetic resolution, liquid-liquid extraction, membrane-based separation, and especially one bold new progress based on chiral-induced spin selectivity theory. The advances and recent applications will be presented in detail, in which the contents may bring more thinking to wide-ranging readers in various professional fields, from analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, natural medicinal chemistry, to manufacturing of drug production.

Abstract
Microbial lipase is looking for better attention with the fast growth of enzyme proficiency and other benefits like easy, cost-effective, and reliable manufacturing. Immobilized enzymes can be used repetitively and are incapable to catalyze the reactions in the system continuously. Hydrophobic supports are utilized to immobilize enzymes when the ionic strength is low. This approach allows for the immobilization, purification, stability, and hyperactivation of lipases in a single step. The diffusion of the substrate is more advantageous on hydrophobic supports than on hydrophilic supports in the carrier. These approaches are critical to the immobilization performance of the enzyme. For enzyme immobilization, synthesis provides a higher pH value as well as greater heat stability. Using a mixture of immobilization methods, the binding force between enzymes and the support rises, reducing enzyme leakage. Lipase adsorption produces interfacial activation when it is immobilized on hydrophobic support. As a result, in the immobilization process, this procedure is primarily used for a variety of industrial applications. Microbial sources, immobilization techniques, and industrial applications in the fields of food, flavor, detergent, paper and pulp, pharmaceuticals, biodiesel, derivatives of esters and amino groups, agrochemicals, biosensor applications, cosmetics, perfumery, and bioremediation are all discussed in this review.

Abstract
The solubility of the racemic solid phase of ketoprofen (KTP) in methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, butanol, acetonitrile, ethyl acetate, 1,4-dioxane and toluene has been determined between 273 and 303 K by a gravimetric method. FTIR and Raman spectroscopy, SEM and PXRD, have been used to characterise the solid phase. The melting data and heat capacity of solid and melt have been determined by DSC, and used to estimate fusion thermodynamics and the activity of the solid phase as functions of temperature. Empirical and semi-empirical models have been fitted to experimental solubility data. The solution activity coefficients reveal positive deviation from ideality in all solvents except for in dioxane, and very close to ideality in methanol. The solubility is fairly high in the alcohols but decrease with increasing hydrocarbon chain. Generally and due to the presence of the carboxylic acid group, KTP is more readily dissolved in polar protic solvents, followed in order by polar aprotic and non-polar solvents. However, the highest solubility is found in dioxane, classified as a non-polar solvent, but notably though the molecule having two strong hydrogen bond accepting functionalities, and no hydrogen bond donation capability.

Abstract
Serum albumin, the most abundant transport protein of mammalian blood, interacts with various nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) affecting their disposition, metabolism, and excretion. A big group of chiral NSAIDs transported by albumin, profens, is created by derivatives of 2-arylpropionic acid. The chiral center in the structures of profens is adjacent to the carboxylate moiety and often determines different pharmacological properties of profen enantiomers. This study describes crystal structures of two albumins, isolated from equine and leporine serum, in complexes with three profens: ibuprofen, ketoprofen, and suprofen. Based on three-dimensional structures, the stereoselectivity of albumin is discussed and referred to the previously published albumin complexes with drugs. Drug Site 2 (DS2) of albumin, the bulky hydrophobic pocket of subdomain IIIA with a patch of polar residues, preferentially binds (S)-enantiomers of all investigated profens. Almost identical binding mode of all these drugs clearly indicates the stereoselectivity of DS2 towards (S)-profens in different albumin species. Also, the affinity studies show that DS2 is the major site that presents high affinity towards investigated drugs. Additionally, crystallographic data reveal the secondary binding sites of ketoprofen in leporine serum albumin and ibuprofen in equine serum albumin, both overlapping with previously identified naproxen binding sites: the cleft formed between subdomains IIIA and IIIB close to the fatty acid binding site 5 and the niche created between subdomains IIA and IIIA, called fatty acid site 6.

Abstract
This review presents the most relevant investigations concerning the biocatalytic kinetic resolution of racemic ketoprofen to dexketoprofen for the last 22 years. The advantages related to the administration of the dex-enantiomer in terms of human health, the so called "chiral switch" in the pharmaceutical industry and the sustainability of biotransformations have been the driving forces to develop innovative technology to obtain dexketoprofen. In particular, the kinetic resolution of racemic ketoprofen through enantiomeric esterification and hydrolysis using lipases as biocatalysts are thoroughly revised and commented upon. In this context, the biocatalysts, acyl-acceptors (alcohols), reaction conditions, conversion, enantiomeric excess, and enantiomeric ratio among others are discussed. Moreover, the investigations concerning scaling up processes in order to obtain an optically pure enantiomer of the profen are presented. Finally, some guidelines about perspectives of the technology and research opportunities are given.

Abstract
Oxime-palladacycle catalyzed aerobic cross-coupling reaction of arylboronic acids and acyl chlorides to yield aryl ketones was developed. The reaction proceeds efficiently in 2-MeTHF, which is derived from corncobs, sugar cane, and fulfils the 3rd, 5th and 7th principles of Green Chemistry.

Abstract
Highly selective carbonylative Suzuki reactions of aryl iodides with arylboronic acids using an in situ generated nanopalladium system furnished products in high yields. The reactions were performed under ambient conditions and in the absence of an added ligand. The key to success is the addition of pivalic acid, which can effectively suppress undesired Suzuki coupling. The synthesis can be easily scaled up, and the catalytic system can be reused up to nine times. The nature of the active catalytic species are discussed.

Abstract
A new (S)-ketoprofen specific esterase (EST-Y29) was identified from a metagenome library from environmental samples, which showed homologies with class C-beta lactamase, penicillin binding protein, and other lipases/esterases. In order to investigate the biochemical and biophysical properties, the recombinant protein was overexpressed, purified to homogeneity, and characterized. This EST-Y29 has high catalytic activity against p-nitrophenyl esters of short fatty acids (C(2) and C(4)) and alpha-naphthyl acetate with activation energy of 30.4 kJ/mol. We have further characterized EST-Y29 using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), circular dichroism (CD), dynamic light scattering (DLS) and size exclusion chromatography (SEC).
