Anterior Esthetic Rehabilitation of an Alveolar Cleft Using Novel Minimally Invasive Prosthodontic Techniques: A Case Report

Missing lateral incisors are the most frequent dental disorder associated with cleft alveolus. When orthodontic closure of the edentulous space is not possible, more aggressive prosthodontic treatments are required. Contemporary resin-bonded fixed dental prostheses (RBFDPs) represent a promising, time-efficient alternative treatment with fewer biological complications. This clinical report proposes a modified approach to the esthetic rehabilitation of a patient with a complete unilateral cleft lip and palate on the left side and an incomplete cleft lip and alveolar cleft on the right side. Digital diagnostics, treatment planning, and clinical procedures involved in the fabrication of facially bonded RBFDPs are presented. This modified technique enables the concurrent replacement of lateral incisors and correction of the malformed central incisors as well as increasing the retention of the restorations.

Initial management and long-term follow up after the rehabilitation of a patient with severe dentoalveolar trauma: A case report

Dental trauma is common and for patients who suffer significant oral injuries, rehabilitation can be challenging to the clinical team. This case report describes the successful prosthetic replacement of multiple missing teeth lost due to severe dentoalveolar trauma, using iliac crest bone grafting, an implant-retained removable dental prosthesis and implant-supported crowns. Good functionality and aesthetic outcome were achieved.

An Alternative Prosthodontic Management of Maxillary Dentoalveolar Defect in a Patient With Cleft Palate and Lip: Case Report

Cleft palate/lip is a frequently occurring congenital anomaly; one in every 800 births results in such a problem. Different treatment options are available for replacing missing soft and hard tissues, including removable dental prostheses, fixed dental prostheses (FDPs), and implant prostheses. In the literature, according to different authors, there are different option standard for prosthetic treatment of cleft palate/lip. Some authors report that removable prosthesis is the choice in such cases, some of them regard conventional tooth-supported FDPs as a standard of care. In this case report, the prosthetic treatment of congenital cleft palate/lip was described. Upon the choice of the patient and patient's agreement, the direct construction Fibre-reinforced composite (FRC) adhesive bridge with pink composite gingival epithesis was performed.
