Regulatory and therapeutic implications of competing endogenous RNA network in breast cancer progression and metastasis: A review

Breast cancer (BC) is a global health concern, and development of diagnostic tools and targeted treatments for BC remains challenging. Therapeutic approaches for BC often involve a combination of surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormone therapy. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the role of noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs), including long ncRNAs (lncRNAs) and microRNAs (miRNAs), in BC and their therapeutic implications. Various biological processes such as cell proliferation, migration, and apoptosis rely on the activities of these ncRNAs, and their dysregulation has been implicated in BC progression. The regulatory function of the competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network, which comprises lncRNAs, miRNAs, and mRNAs, has been the subject of extensive pathophysiological research. Most lncRNAs serve as molecular sponges for miRNAs and sequester their activities, thereby regulating the expression of target mRNAs and contributing to the promotion or inhibition of BC progression. This review summarizes recent findings on the role of ceRNA networks in BC progression, metastasis, and therapeutic resistance, and highlights the association of ceRNA networks with transcription factors and signaling pathways. Understanding the ceRNA network can lead to the discovery of biomarkers and targeted treatment methods to prevent the spread and metastasis of BC.

Development of a novel disulfidptosis-related lncRNA signature for prognostic and immune response prediction in clear cell renal cell carcinoma

Disulfidptosis, a novel form of regulated cell death, occurs due to the aberrant accumulation of intracellular cystine and other disulfides. Moreover, targeting disulfidptosis could identify promising approaches for cancer treatment. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are known to be critically implicated in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) development. Currently, the involvement of disulfidptosis-related lncRNAs in ccRCC is yet to be elucidated. This study primarily dealt with identifying and validating a disulfidptosis-related lncRNAs-based signature for predicting the prognosis and immune landscape of individuals with ccRCC. Clinical and RNA sequencing data of ccRCC samples were accessed from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. Pearson correlation analysis was conducted for the identification of the disulfidptosis-related lncRNAs. Additionally, univariate Cox regression analysis, Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator Cox regression, and stepwise multivariate Cox analysis were executed to develop a novel risk prognostic model. The prognosis-predictive capacity of the model was then assessed using an integrated method. Variation in biological function was noted using GO, KEGG, and GSEA. Additionally, immune cell infiltration, the tumor mutational burden (TMB), and tumor immune dysfunction and exclusion (TIDE) scores were calculated to investigate differences in the immune landscape. Finally, the expression of hub disulfidptosis-related lncRNAs was validated using qPCR. We established a novel signature comprised of eight lncRNAs that were associated with disulfidptosis (SPINT1-AS1, AL121944.1, AC131009.3, AC104088.3, AL035071.1, LINC00886, AL035587.2, and AC007743.1). Kaplan-Meier and receiver operating characteristic curves demonstrated the acceptable predictive potency of the model. The nomogram and C-index confirmed the strong correlation between the risk signature and clinical decision-making. Furthermore, immune cell infiltration analysis and ssGSEA revealed significantly different immune statuses among risk groups. TMB analysis revealed the link between the high-risk group and high TMB. It is worth noting that the cumulative effect of the patients belonging to the high-risk group and having elevated TMB led to decreased patient survival times. The high-risk group depicted greater TIDE scores in contrast with the low-risk group, indicating greater potential for immune escape. Finally, qPCR validated the hub disulfidptosis-related lncRNAs in cell lines. The established novel signature holds potential regarding the prognosis prediction of individuals with ccRCC as well as predicting their responses to immunotherapy.

Identification of a novel intermittent hypoxia-related prognostic lncRNA signature and the ceRNA of lncRNA GSEC/miR-873-3p/EGLN3 regulatory axis in lung adenocarcinoma

Background

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is still the most prevalent type of respiratory cancer. Intermittent hypoxia can increase the mortality and morbidity associated with lung cancer. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are crucial in lung adenocarcinoma. However, the effects of intermittent hypoxia-related long non-coding RNAs (IHRLs) on lung adenocarcinoma are still unknown.

Method

In the current research, eight IHRLs were selected to create a prognostic model. The risk score of the prognostic model was evaluated using multivariate and univariate analyses, and its accuracy and reliability were validated using a nomogram and ROC. Additionally, we investigated the relationships between IHRLs and the immune microenvironment.

Result

Our analysis identified GSEC, AC099850.3, and AL391001.1 as risk lncRNAs, while AC010615.2, AC010654.1, AL513550.1, LINC00996, and LINC01150 were categorized as protective lncRNAs. We observed variances in the expression of seven immune cells and 15 immune-correlated pathways between the two risk groups. Furthermore, our results confirmed the ceRNA network associated with the intermittent hypoxia-related lncRNA GSEC/miR-873-3p/EGLN3 regulatory pathway. GSEC showed pronounced expression in lung adenocarcinoma tissues and specific cell lines, and its inhibition resulted in reduced proliferation and migration in A549 and PC9 cells. Intriguingly, GSEC manifested oncogenic properties by sponging miR-873-3p and demonstrated a tendency to modulate EGLN3 expression favorably.

Conclusion

GSEC acts as an oncogenic lncRNA by interacting with miR-873-3p, modulating EGLN3 expression. This observation underscores the potential of GSEC as a diagnostic and therapeutic target for LUAD.

MIR31HG, a potential lncRNA in human cancers and non-cancers

Long non-coding RNAs have recently attracted considerable attention due to their aberrant expression in human diseases. LncMIR31HG is a novel lncRNA that is abnormally expressed in multiple diseases and implicated in various stages of disease progression. A large proportion of recent studies have indicated that MIR31HG has biological functions by triggering various signalling pathways in the pathogenesis of human diseases, especially cancers. More importantly, the abnormal expression of MIR31HG makes it a potential biomarker in diagnosis and prognosis, as well as a promising target for treatments. This review aims to systematically summarize the gene polymorphism, expression profiles, biological roles, underlying mechanisms, and clinical applications of MIR31HG in human diseases.

Pyroptosis-related lncRNA prognostic signatures for cutaneous melanoma and tumor microenvironment status

Aims: To explore whether the expression of pyroptosis-related lncRNAs makes a difference in the prognosis and antitumor immunity of cutaneous melanoma (CM) patients. Methods: A series of analyses were conducted to establish a prognostic risk model and validate its accuracy. Immune-related analyses were performed to further assess the associations among immune status, tumor microenvironment and the prognostic risk model. Results: Eight pyroptosis-related lncRNAs relevant to prognosis were ascertained and applied to establish the prognostic risk model. The low-risk group had a higher overall survival rate. Conclusion: The established prognostic risk model presents better prediction ability for the prognosis of CM patients and provides new possible therapeutic targets for CM.

A model based on immune-related lncRNA pairs and its potential prognostic value in immunotherapy for melanoma

A model based on long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) pairs independent of expression quantification was constructed to evaluate prognosis melanoma and response to immunotherapy in melanoma. RNA sequencing data and clinical information were retrieved and downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas and the Genotype-Tissue Expression databases. We identified differentially expressed immune-related lncRNAs (DEirlncRNAs), matched them, and used least absolute shrinkage and selection operator and Cox regression to construct predictive models. The optimal cutoff value of the model was determined using a receiver operating characteristic curve and used to categorize melanoma cases into high-risk and low-risk groups. The predictive efficacy of the model with respect to prognosis was compared with that of clinical data and ESTIMATE (Estimation of STromal and Immune cells in MAlignant Tumor tissues using Expression data). Then, we analyzed the correlations of risk score with clinical characteristics, immune cell invasion, anti-tumor, and tumor-promoting activities. Differences in survival, degree of immune cell infiltration, and intensity of anti-tumor and tumor-promoting activities were also evaluated in the high- and low-risk groups. A model based on 21 DEirlncRNA pairs was established. Compared with ESTIMATE score and clinical data, this model could better predict outcomes of melanoma patients. Follow-up analysis of the model's effectiveness showed that patients in the high-risk group had poorer prognosis and were less likely to benefit from immunotherapy compared with those in the low-risk group. Moreover, there were differences in tumor-infiltrating immune cells between the high-risk and low-risk groups. By pairing the DEirlncRNA, we constructed a model to evaluate the prognosis of cutaneous melanoma independent of a specific level of lncRNA expression.

LncRNA-BC069792 suppresses tumor progression by targeting KCNQ4 in breast cancer

BACKGROUND

Breast cancer is the most common malignant tumor that threatens women's health. Attention has been paid on the study of long- non-coding RNA (lncRNA) in breast cancer. However, the specific mechanism remains not clear.

METHODS

In this study, we explored the role of lncRNA BC069792 in breast cancer. In vitro and in vivo functional experiments were carried out in cell culture and mouse models. High-throughput next-generation sequencing technology and real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR technology were used to evaluate differentially expressed genes and mRNA expression, Western blot and immunohistochemical staining were used to detect protein expression. RNA immunoprecipitation assay and dual-luciferase activity assay were used to evaluate the competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNA), and rescue and mutation experiments were used for verification.

RESULTS

We found that lncRNA BC069792 was expressed at a low level in breast cancer tissues, and significantly decreased in breast cancer with high pathological grade, lymph node metastasis and high Ki-67 index groups. Moreover, BC069792 inhibited the proliferation, invasion and metastasis of breast cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. Mechanically, BC069792 acts as a molecular sponge to adsorb hsa-miR-658 and hsa-miR-4739, to up-regulate the protein expression of Potassium Voltage-Gated Channel Q4 (KCNQ4), inhibits the activities of JAK2 and p-AKT, and plays a role in inhibiting breast cancer growth.

CONCLUSIONS

LncRNA BC069792 plays the role of tumor suppressor gene in breast cancer and is a new diagnostic index and therapeutic target in breast cancer.

Advances in targeting of miR‑10‑associated lncRNAs/circRNAs for the management of cancer (Review)

With advancements in sequencing technologies, an increasing number of aberrantly expressed long-non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been identified in various types of cancer. lncRNAs and circRNAs are now well-established tumor-influencing factors in cancer, driving not only tumor proliferation and invasion, but also cancer progression, drug resistance and metastatic recurrence. The majority of lncRNAs and circRNAs influence cancer progression by targeting microRNAs (miRNAs/miRs). miR-10a and miR-10b, key members of the miR-10 family, have been shown to play important regulatory roles in cell proliferation, differentiation to cancer progression, and development. Manual evaluation and grouping according to different types of competing endogenous RNA and tumor was performed. The review outlined the current state of knowledge on the regulation of miR-10 family-related lncRNAs and circRNAs. The involvement of lncRNAs and circRNAs in the biogenesis, maturation and function of malignant tumors through the miR-10 family, and the key gene targets and signaling cascades that lncRNAs and circRNAs regulate through the miR-10 family were summarized. Based on the findings of this review, it can be hypothesized that lncRNAs and circRNAs targeting the miR-10 family may serve as diagnostic/prognostic markers and/or therapeutic targets for the management of cancer.

Long non-coding RNAs in bone metastasis: progresses and perspectives as potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers

In a precision medicine perspective, among the biomarkers potentially useful for early diagnosis of cancers, as well as to define their prognosis and eventually to identify novel and more effective therapeutic targets, there are the long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs). The term lncRNA identifies a class of non-coding RNA molecules involved in the regulation of gene expression that intervene at the transcriptional, post-transcriptional, and epigenetic level. Metastasis is a natural evolution of some malignant tumours, frequently encountered in patients with advanced cancers. Onset and development of metastasis represents a detrimental event that worsen the patient's prognosis by profoundly influencing the quality of life and is responsible for the ominous progression of the disease. Due to the peculiar environment and the biomechanical properties, bone is a preferential site for the secondary growth of breast, prostate and lung cancers. Unfortunately, only palliative and pain therapies are currently available for patients with bone metastases, while no effective and definitive treatments are available. The understanding of pathophysiological basis of bone metastasis formation and progression, as well as the improvement in the clinical management of the patient, are central but challenging topics in basic research and clinical practice. The identification of new molecular species that may have a role as early hallmarks of the metastatic process could open the door to the definition of new, and more effective, therapeutic and diagnostic approaches. Non-coding RNAs species and, particularly, lncRNAs are promising compounds in this setting, and their study may bring to the identification of relevant processes. In this review, we highlight the role of lncRNAs as emerging molecules in mediating the formation and development of bone metastases, as possible biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and prognosis, and as therapeutic targets to counteract cancer spread.

LncRNA RP11-551L14.4 suppresses breast cancer development by inhibiting the expression of miR-4472

Background

Previous studies have been reported that long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) can regulate the expression of genes which are involved in many important cellular processes The potential role of lncRNA RP11-551L14.4 in the development of breast cancer and the possible regulatory mechanisms was investigated.

Methods

Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was conducted to analyze RP11-551L14.4 expression in 36 paired breast cancer tissues and adjacent tissues. The expression of RP11-551L14.4 in multiple breast cancer cell lines was detected by qRT-PCR. Meanwhile, overexpression of RP11-551L14.4 models was established using lentivirus in BT474 and T47D breast cancer cells. Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8), cell colony formation and cell cycle assays were performed to detect the effects of RP11-551L14.4 on the biological function of breast cancer cells. Besides, bioinformatics techniques, dual luciferase reporter gene assay and rescue experiments were used to investigate the potential mechanisms.

Results

RP11-551L14.4 expression was negatively associated with the advanced tumor stage. Breast cancer patients with low RP11-551L14.4 expression manifested a poorer prognosis. The results of qRT-PCR showed that RP11-551L14.4 expression in breast cancer tissues was significantly lower than in adjacent tissues. Meanwhile, overexpression of RP11-551L14.4 significantly decreased the cell proliferation and cell cycle. Bioinformatics technology showed that RP11-551L14.4 could complementarily bind to miR-4472. qRT-PCR results indicated that the expression levels of miR-4472 and RP11-551L14.4 in breast cancer were negatively correlated. Luciferase reporter gene assay showed that miR-4472 remarkably decreased the relative luciferase activity of the wild-type RP11-551L14.4 vector. miR-4472 is a direct target gene of RP11-551L14.4. miR-4472 levels were reduced, and repulsive guidance molecule A (RGMA) mRNA or protein levels were increased after overexpression of RP11-551L14.4 in the breast cancer cells. miR-4472 reversed the effects caused by RP11-551L14.4 in breast cancer cells.

Conclusion

RP11-551L14.4 expression was remarkably decreased in breast cancer tissues and cells. RP11-551L14.4 may inhibit the malignant progression of breast cancer by regulating miR-4472 expression.

Development and validation of a ferroptosis-related lncRNAs signature to predict prognosis and microenvironment for melanoma

Ferroptosis plays an important role in cancer. However, studies about ferroptosis-related lncRNAs (FRLs) in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM) are scarce. Moreover, the relationship between prognostic FRLs and tumor microenvironment (TME) in melanoma remains unclear. This study investigates the potential prognostic value of FRLs and their association with TME in SKCM. The RNA-sequencing data of SKCM were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. Melanoma patients were randomly divided into training and testing groups in a 1:1 ratio. A signature composed of 19 FRLs was developed by the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression analysis to divide patients into a low-risk group with a better prognosis and a high-risk group with a poor prognosis. Multivariate Cox regression analysis suggested that the risk score was an independent prognostic factor. The Area Under Curve (AUC) value of the risk score reached 0.768 in the training group and 0.770 in the testing group. Subsequent analysis proved that immune-related signaling pathways were significantly enriched in the low-risk group. The tumor immune cell infiltration analysis demonstrated that melanoma in the high-risk group tended to be immunologically "cold". We identified a novel FRLs signature which could accurately predict the prognosis of patients with melanoma.

Overexpression of lncRNA SLC16A1-AS1 Suppresses the Growth and Metastasis of Breast Cancer via the miR-552-5p/WIF1 Signaling Pathway

Background

Breast cancer (BC) is the most common cancer and the fifth leading cause of cancer mortality with 685,000 deaths worldwide in 2020. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are critical in BC carcinogenesis and progression. However, the functional roles and mechanisms of SLC16A1-AS1 in BC are unknown.

Methods

The expression profile of SLC16A1-AS1 in BC patients was investigated using data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and checked in 80 BC patients, followed by analyzing the prognostic value of SLC16A1-AS1 in the 80 BC patients. The biological functions of SLC16A1-AS1 were further examined in vivo and in vitro after overexpression of SLC16A1-AS1 in BC cells. Possible binding sites between SLC16A1-AS1 and miR-552-5p were predicted by miRDB and those between miR-552-5p and Wnt inhibitory factor-1 (WIF1) were predicted by miRanda, which were confirmed using dual-luciferase reporter assay with mutation. Spearman correlation assay was applied to evaluate the association between genes. Rescue experiments were further applied to investigate the molecular mechanisms involved.

Results

Lower SLC16A1-AS1 expression in BC tissues was related to poor prognosis of BC patients. Upregulation of SLC16A1-AS1 suppressed BC cell viability, colony formation, invasion, and migration in vitro and growth in vivo via sponging miR-552-5p to release WIF1.

Conclusion

SLC16A1-AS1 is a tumor suppressor in BC, and lower SLC16A1-AS1 expression is an indicator of poor prognosis in BC patients. SLC16A1-AS1 inhibits BC carcinogenesis and progression via the SLC16A1-AS1/miR-552-5p/WIF1 pathway. SLC16A1-AS1 represents a novel diagnostic, therapeutic, and prognostic target for BC management.

Upregulated LINC01088 facilitates malignant phenotypes and immune escape of colorectal cancer by regulating microRNAs/G3BP1/PD-L1 axis

PURPOSE

Long intergenic non-coding RNA LINC01088 is a newly discovered long non-coding RNA (lncRNA). Its biological function in colorectal cancer (CRC) remains unknown.

METHODS

Here, 36 paired CRC and para-cancerous tissues were collected. In vitro, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) assay, qPCR, western blotting analysis and cellular functional experiments, RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) assay and dual-luciferase reporter system analysis were performed. In vivo, xenograft tumor mouse models were generated. Besides, patient-derived intestinal organoid (PDO) was generated ex vivo.

RESULTS

We found that LINC01088 was significantly upregulated in colorectal cancer tissues and CRC cell lines compared to adjacent normal tissues and colonic epithelial cells. High LINC01088 levels were correlated with adverse outcomes in patients with CRC. LINC01088 was mainly located in the cytoplasm. LINC01088 knockdown suppressed the proliferation, migration, invasion, and immune escape of colorectal cancer cells. Mechanistically, LINC01088 bound directly to miR-548b-5p and miR-548c-5p that were significantly upregulated Ras GTPase-activating protein-binding proteins 1 (G3BP1) and programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression, altering CRC cell phenotypes. In mouse xenograft models, LINC01088 knockdown restrained CRC tumor growth and lung metastasis. Furthermore, G3BP1 overexpression reversed LINC01088-knockdown-mediated inhibitory effects on tumor growth. Notably, LINC01088 knockdown downregulated PD-L1 expression, while G3BP1 overexpression restored PD-L1 expression in xenograft tumors. Besides, LINC01088 knockdown repressed CRC organoid growth ex vivo.

CONCLUSION

Overall, these findings suggested that LINC01088 directly targeted miR-548b-5p and miR-548c-5p, promoting G3BP1 and PD-L1 expression, which facilitated colorectal cancer progression and immune escape.

Identification and Construction of a Predictive Immune-Related lncRNA Signature Model for Melanoma

Objective

The occurrence and development mechanisms of melanoma are related to immunity and lncRNAs. Therefore, it is necessary to systematically explore immune-related lncRNA profiles to help improve the prognosis of melanoma.

Methods

We integrated immune-related lncRNAs and the basic clinical information of melanoma patients in the TCGA dataset. Immune-associated lncRNAs were selected by differential expression screening and enriched for analysis. After univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses, a new prognostic indicator based on immune-associated lncRNAs was established.

Results

Overall, differentially expressed immune-related lncRNAs were significantly associated with clinical outcomes in patients with melanoma. A prognostic model was then established based on 14 immune-associated lncRNAs (LRRC8C-DT, AC021188.1, MALINC1, CCR5AS, EIF2AK3-DT, AC022306.2, AC242842.1, AL034376.1, AL662844.4, AC009065.3, AC099811.3, AC125807.2, SPINT1-AS1 and AC009495.2). Melanoma patients in the high-risk group had worse overall survival than those in the low-risk group. The AUC of the risk score was 0.786.

Conclusion

This study identified several clinically significant immune-related lncRNAs and established a relevant prognostic model, which provided a molecular analysis of immunity in melanoma and potential prognostic lncRNAs for melanoma.

SPINT1-AS1 Drives Cervical Cancer Progression via Repressing miR-214 Biogenesis

Accumulating evidences have revealed the dysregulated expressions and critical roles of non-coding RNAs in various malignancies, including cervical cancer. Nevertheless, our knowledge about the vast majority of non-coding RNAs is still lacking. Here we identified long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) SPINT1-AS1 as a novel cervical cancer-associated lncRNA. SPINT1-AS1 was increased in cervical cancer and correlated with advanced stage and poor prognosis. SPINT1-AS1 was a direct downstream target of miR-214, a well-known tumor suppressive microRNA (miRNA) in cervical cancer. Intriguingly, SPINT1-AS1 was also found to repress miR-214 biogenesis via binding DNM3OS, the primary transcript of miR-214. The interaction between SPINT1-AS1 and DNM3OS repressed the binding of DROSHA and DGCR8 to DNM3OS, blocked DNM3OS cleavage, and therefore repressed mature miR-214 biogenesis. The expression of SPINT1-AS1 was significantly negatively correlated with miR-214 in cervical cancer tissues, supporting the reciprocal repression between SPINT1-AS1 and miR-214 in vivo. Through downregulating mature miR-214 level, SPINT1-AS1 upregulated the expression of β-catenin, a target of miR-214. Thus, SPINT1-AS1 further activated Wnt/β-catenin signaling in cervical cancer. Functionally, SPINT1-AS1 drove cervical cancer cellular proliferation, migration, and invasion in vitro, and also tumorigenesis in vivo. Deletion of the region mediating the interaction between SPINT1-AS1 and DNM3OS, overexpression of miR-214, and inhibition of Wnt/β-catenin signaling all reversed the roles of SPINT1-AS1 in cervical cancer. Collectively, these findings identified SPINT1-AS1 as a novel cervical cancer-associated oncogenic lncRNA which represses miR-214 biogenesis and activates Wnt/β-catenin signaling, highlighting its potential as prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for cervical cancer.

LncRNA ELF3-AS1 is a Prognostic Biomarker and Correlated with Immune Infiltrates in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

BACKGROUND

Expression of long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) ELF3 antisense RNA 1 (ELF3-AS1) is observed in some cancers, while its role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is unclear. The study aimed to investigate the relationship between ELF3-AS1 and HCC based on database, bioinformatics, and statistical analysis.

METHODS

In this study, Kruskal-Wallis test, Wilcoxon sign-rank test, logistic regression, Kaplan-Meier method, Cox regression analysis, gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA), and immunoinfiltration analysis were used to assess the relationship between ELF3-AS1 expression and clinical characteristics of HCC patients, the relationship between ELF3-AS1 expression and prognosis of HCC patients, and the possible functions of ELF3-AS1 in HCC.

RESULTS

High expression of ELF3-AS1 in patients with HCC was related to T stage (P < 0.001), gender (P = 0.006), residual tumor (P = 0.008), histologic grade (P < 0.001), adjacent hepatic tissue inflammation (P = 0.011), AFP (P < 0.001), and vascular invasion (P = 0.028). High ELF3-AS1 expression was associated with poor overall survival (OS) (P = 0.001) and DSS (P = 0.047). ELF3-AS1 expression (P = 0.011) was independently correlated with OS in HCC patients. In the high ELF3-AS1 expression group, GPCR-radioligand binding, M phase, Class A/1 (rhodopsin-like receptors), cell cycle checkpoints, translation, mitotic metaphase and anaphase, signaling by robo receptors, keratinization, and rRNA processing were differentially enriched by GESA. ELF3-AS1 expression was associated with immune infiltrating cells.

CONCLUSIONS

ELF3-AS1 expression was associated with poor prognosis in HCC. ELF3-AS1 expression was significantly associated with immune infiltration. ELF3-AS1 is a promising biomarker that can be used for the diagnosis and prognosis of HCC.
