Abstract
This narrative literature review examined the intricate relationship between body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) and dermatological conditions, with a brief focus on those characterized by conspicuous skin irregularities such as acne vulgaris, psoriasis, and vitiligo. Highlighting the significant prevalence of BDD among individuals afflicted with dermatological issues, our analysis illuminated the profound psychological repercussions stemming from an exaggerated preoccupation with perceived skin imperfections. Through an exploration of the underlying BDD symptoms, we analyzed the complex dynamics between skin health and mental well-being, emphasizing the disorder's impact on patients' psychological and social functioning. This narrative review further investigated the consequential effects of BDD on essential aspects of dermatological treatment, including patient adherence to therapeutic regimens, overall quality of life (QOL), and the effectiveness of available treatments. In addition to presenting current therapeutic approaches, we advocate for the integration of psycho-dermatological interventions tailored to mitigate the dual burden of skin conditions and psychological distress. Future research directions proposed include longitudinal studies to assess the long-term effects of BDD on skin disease prognosis and psychosocial well-being, which aim to refine and optimize treatment modalities to contribute to a more holistic understanding of BDD within dermatological practice.

Abstract
PURPOSE Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and autism are characterized by the presence of repetitive behaviors. Differentiating between repetitive behaviors attributable to a diagnosis of autism, and those attributable to OCD, poses challenges for differential and co-occurring diagnosis. Differentiation is important to inform appropriate supports and interventions for phenotypically similar but functionally distinct behaviors. In this systematic review, the quantitative literature was examined to explore the similarities and differences in repetitive behaviors (including restricted and repetitive behaviors and interests, and obsessive-compulsive behaviors) in autistic individuals and those with OCD, and those with co-occurring diagnoses, in terms of: (1) expression, (2) content, and (3) associated factors. METHODS Thirty-one studies were identified that compared repetitive behaviors in autistic individuals, individuals with OCD, or individuals with both diagnoses. RESULTS The results suggest considerable overlap in the intensity and content of repetitive behaviors between groups. The findings of this review highlight that research aimed specifically at understanding similarities and differences in repetitive behaviors between autistic individuals and individuals with OCD is limited and frequently only compare at total score or composite measure levels. CONCLUSION Further research into differences in the presentation of repetitive behaviors at a subscale and item level is required to inform clearer differentiation of specific behaviors in autism versus OCD. Understanding and more accurately differentiating is essential for efficient diagnosis, effective treatment, and better outcomes.

Abstract
Early identification of individuals with Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is essential to direct them to appropriate care and to reduce the chance of developing or maintaining comorbid psychiatric disorders (like an eating disorder (ED)). The present study aimed to develop a simple screener, the Body Dysmorphic Disorder Screener for DSM-5 (BDDS-5), to overcome existing screeners' limitations and test its psychometric properties. The BDDS-5 consists of 12 statements with dichotomous answer options. Specific attention is paid to the readability of the screener for those with lower reading skills. Additional eating disorder screening questions (S section) were added to investigate whether these questions are necessary for detecting potential BDD cases. Finally, the factor structure, internal consistency, and validity of the BDDS-5 were examined within populations with a high risk of screening positive for BDD or ED. Principal axis factor analysis showed that two factors accounted for 63.5% of the variance. The factor analysis was based on polychoric correlation. Based on the BDDS-5, 33 persons (14% of N = 235) were screened as likely BDD cases. Nineteen persons were excluded as potential BDD cases based on the eating disorder related question (question D). Based on the S-section, this turned out to be largely correct for the majority, however, in 8% (n = 4) of the cases BDD was probably missed. The convergent validity appeared to be high (r > 0.80) with three other BDD measures. The BDDS-5 is a valid and widely applicable screener for BDD that may help in the early detection of BDD. The BDDS-5 uses simple wording and is thus suitable for people 8 years and older.

Abstract
Compulsivity is a transdiagnostic construct crucial to understanding multiple psychiatric conditions and problematic repetitive behaviours. Despite being identified as a clinical- and research-relevant construct, there are limited insights into the internal conceptual structure of compulsivity. To provide a more nuanced understanding of compulsivity, the current study estimated the structure of compulsivity (indexed using the previously validated Cambridge-Chicago Compulsivity Trait Scale, CHI-T) among two large-scale and geographically distinct samples using the network estimation method. The samples consisted of a United Kingdom cohort (n = 122,346, 51.4% female, Mean age = 43.7, SD = 16.5, range = 9-86 years) and a South Africa cohort (n = 2674, 65.6% female, Mean age = 24.6, SD = 8.6, range = 18-65 years). Network community analysis demonstrated that compulsivity was constituted of three interrelated dimensions, namely: perfectionism, cognitive rigidity and reward drive. Further, 'Completion leads to soothing' and 'Difficulty moving from task to task' were identified as core (central nodes) to compulsivity. The dimensional structure and central nodes of compulsivity networks were consistent across the two samples. These findings facilitate the conceptualisation and measurement of compulsivity and may contribute to the early detection and treatment of compulsivity-related disorders.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The relationship between cognitive function and psychopathological symptoms has been an important research field in recent years. Previous studies have typically applied case-control designs to explore differences in certain cognitive variables. Multivariate analyses are needed to deepen our understanding of the intercorrelations among cognitive and symptom phenotypes in OCD. METHODS The present study used network analysis to construct networks of cognitive variables and OCD-related symptoms in patients with OCD and healthy controls (N = 226), aiming to explore the relationship among numerous cognitive function variables and OCD-related symptoms in detail and compare the network features between the two groups. RESULTS In the network of cognitive function and OCD-related symptoms, nodes representing IQ, letter/number span test, accuracy of task switching test and obsession were much important in the network in terms of their larger strengths and edges. By constructing the networks of these two groups respectively, there was a strong similarity except that the symptom's network in healthy group had a higher degree of overall connectivity. LIMITATIONS Due to the small sample size, the stability of the network cannot be guaranteed. Due to the cross-sectional nature of the data, we were unable to determine how the cognitive-symptom network would change with disease deterioration or treatment. CONCLUSIONS The present study highlights the important role of variables such as obsession and IQ from a network perspective. These results deepen our understanding of the multivariate relationship between cognitive dysfunction and OCD symptoms, and may promote the prediction and diagnosis of OCD.

Abstract
Prominent scholars suggested that the impulsive-obsessive compulsive continuum may represent a framework to understand both substance and behavioral addictions. However, the characterization of pathological buying (PB) and problem gambling (PG) within the compulsive-impulsive spectrum has not been extensively investigated. To explore the relationships among PB, PG, alcohol and substance abuse, DSM-5 obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, and impulsive dimensions, a sample of 1,005 Italian community-dwelling adult participants (55.5% female), was administered self-reported measures of PB, PG, and other theoretically-relevant constructs. We expected to observe a multidimensional structure in our data; moreover, DSM-5 obsessive compulsive and related disorders were hypothesized to be accounted for by a common dimension. Three dimensions were identified and replicated across two different, non-redundant methods (i.e., exploratory graph analysis and exploratory factor analysis), namely, substance use and gambling, obsessive and compulsive phenomena, and impulsivity dimensions. Specifically, PG seemed to represent a behavioral variant of addiction vulnerability, PB seemed more akin to obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders, and disinhibition dimension represented the common core of negative urgency, lack of premeditation, lack of perseverance, sensation seeking (SS), and positive urgency. Our findings may be helpful in improving our knowledge on the similarities and differences between PB and PG.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Adolescent mental health is influenced by various adverse environmental conditions. However, it remains unclear how these factors jointly affect adolescent depression. This study aimed to use network analysis to assess the associations between different environmental factors and depressive symptoms in adolescents and to identify key pathways between them. METHODS This study included 610 adolescents with depression from inpatient and outpatient units recruited between March 2020 and November 2021. The mean age was 14.86 ± 1.96, with no significant difference between males (n = 155, 15.10 ± 2.19) and females (n = 455, 14.78 ± 1.88). Depressive symptoms were measured using the Children's Depression Inventory, and individual risk environment factors included childhood trauma, social peer and family risk factors. Network features, including network centrality, stability, and bridge centrality, were investigated. RESULTS Anhedonia and self-esteem were found to be more central in depressive symptoms. Insult experiences from the social peer and emotional abuse experience from childhood were more central environmental factors. Childhood trauma experiences were more related to adolescent depressive symptoms compared to family and peer factors. Bridge analyses identified emotional abuse, emotional neglect and physical neglect as the main bridges linking environment risk to depressive symptoms. LIMITATIONS This was a cross-sectionally designed study, which limited its ability to examine longitudinal dynamic interactions between environmental factors and adolescent depressive symptoms. CONCLUSIONS Our findings suggested that childhood trauma experiences might have greater psychological impacts on adolescent depression than family and social peer environments, and should be considered as crucial targets for preventing severe depressive moods.
