Abstract
Our objective was to investigate the indications, effectiveness, and safety of Amplatzer™ Vascular Plugs (AVPs) in clinical practice. To retrospectively identify patients managed with AVPs at the Dijon University Hospital between January 2011 and April 2021, we searched materials vigilance registries and procedure reports. The 110 identified patients underwent 111 procedures with delivery of 202 AVPs into 118 vessels; 84% of the procedures were performed by radiologists with over 10 years' experience and 67% were scheduled. Varicocele, haemostasis, pelvic varicose veins, and arterio-venous dialysis fistulas accounted for 69% of procedures. The technical and clinical success rates were 99% and 97%, respectively. The single major complication was AVP migration in a high-flow internal iliac vein, with no residual abnormalities after successful device retrieval. Several AVPs and/or concomitant injection of coils or liquid agents were used in 80% of cases. The use of AVPs alone occurred chiefly for splenic artery embolisation in trauma patients and for collateral vein occlusion in dysfunctional arterio-venous dialysis fistulas. No cases of recanalisation occurred during the 19 ± 29 month follow-ups. Based on their good safety and effectiveness profile, AVPs deserve to be part of the therapeutic armamentarium of every interventional radiologist.

Abstract
We present the case of a patient with a brachio-basilic graft forearm loop with intractable edema and thrombosed central veins. She showed up with an important edema after some effort and a previously thrombosed pseudoaneurysm with significant growth. She refused angioplasty treatment for central veins, the graft had not been used for dialysis during the last year, so that arteriovenous graft (AVG) ligation was considered. Due to local conditions thrombin percutaneous embolization was performed to avoid possible complications of a conventional surgery approach. AVG occlusion was done in 10 min by fluoroscopy and ultrasound guidance. In 24 h the patient was significantly better and after 1 week she had no edema at all. There were no complications and no recanalization was observed after 3 months. Percutaneous thrombin embolization is a safe and effective technique for AVG occlusion in case of intractable arm edema with central vein thrombosis, and most likely to be considered in other situations where arteriovenous graft or fistula ligature is needed.

Abstract
Hand and upper extremity (HUE) vascular disorders are encountered frequently by hand surgeons in clinical practice. A wide array of imaging and vascular interventional radiology modalities exists for the diagnosis and treatment of HUE vascular disorders, some of which may not be familiar to the HUE surgeons. In this review article, we summarize the vascular imaging and vascular interventional radiology modalities and their relative advantages, disadvantages, and indications with respect to HUE pathology. We aim to familiarize HUE surgeons with the available types of diagnostic and therapeutic options for HUE vascular pathologies and aid interdisciplinary communication with vascular interventional radiology specialists during the clinical decision-making process.
