Abstract
In this manuscript, a layer of 2-methylimidazole zinc salt (ZIF-8) membrane is deposited on the surface of glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with platinum nanoparticles (Pt NPs) by reduction electrochemical method to obtain ZIF-8/Pt NPs/GCE, and then used for the detection of ascorbic acid (AA). The deposition of Pt NPs on the surface of GCE can not only guide the nucleation and growth of ZIF-8 membrane, but also exert a synergistic effect with it to enhance conductivity. For ZIF-8 membrane, it can increase the active area of electrode and thus improve the electrochemical response of the sensor for AA. Influence factors such as the deposition current density, deposition time on the surface morphology of the modified electrode, and the detection performance of the modified electrode during the electrochemical deposition of ZIF-8 membrane were explored to get the best performance. In addition, influence of conditions such as sweep speed and pH of the test solution on the electrochemical response signal of AA were also studied. Under the best conditions, the linear range of AA detection by this sensor is from 10 μmol L-1 to 2500 μmol L-1, and the detection limit is 5.2 μmol L-1 based on S/N = 3. What's more, the modified electrode also has good anti-interference ability, reproducibility and stability, and has achieved satisfactory results in the detection for AA in real samples.

Abstract
Nanostructured metal oxides, such as zinc oxide (ZnO), are considered as excellent materials for the fabrication of highly sensitive and selective electrochemical sensors and biosensors due to their good properties, including a high specific surface area, high catalytic efficiency, strong adsorption ability, high isoelectric point (IEP, 9.5), wide band gap (3.2 eV), biocompatibility and high electron communication features. Thus, ZnO nanostructures are widely used to fabricate efficient electrochemical sensors and biosensors for the detection of various analytes. In this review, we have discussed the synthesis of ZnO nanostructures and the advances in various ZnO nanostructure-based electrochemical sensors and biosensors for medical diagnosis, pharmaceutical analysis, food safety, and environmental pollution monitoring.

Co-reactant-free self-enhanced solid-state electrochemiluminescence platform based on polyluminol-gold nanocomposite for signal-on detection of mercury ion. Sci Rep 2021; 11:6932. Abstract
Development of a self-enhanced solid-state ECL platform creates a straightforward experimental design for the fabrication of point-of-care applications. Herein, we develop a promising method for self-enhanced solid-state ECL platform of polyluminol gold nanocomposite on glassy carbon electrode [(PL-Au)nano/GCE] via simple one-step electrochemical deposition process without involving any additional co-reactants. The presence of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) augments the electron transfer kinetics of PL (polyluminol) and enhances the solid-state ECL intensity and promotes label-free, excellent sensitivity, and selectivity to detect Hg2+ in physiological pH through signal-on mode. Unlike pristine PL/GCE, electrochemically co-deposited AuNPs in the (PL-Au)nano/GCE composite, enable the co-reactant accelerator by improving the catalytic activity of PL towards oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) yielding in-situ ROS (co-reactant) generation. Further, the ECL intensity of (PL-Au)nano/GCE composite, gradually increases with each addition of Hg2+ ion. This is because of the formation of an amalgamation of Au-Hg on (PL-Au)nano/GCE composite surface which further accelerates the yield of in-situ ROS and enhances the intensity of ECL. Whereas no ECL signals changes were observed for PL/GCE composite. The proposed self-enhanced solid-state ECL platform is selectively sensing the Hg2+ ion in the linear range of 0.3–200 nM with a detection limit of 0.1 nM. The demonstrated (PL-Au)nano/GCE platform might pave new avenues for further studies in the solid-state ECL platform which could be more useful in on-site monitoring of clinical bioassay and immunosensors.

Abstract
The present paper represents a simple and efficient technique via ultrasonic irradiation, which utilized for chemical treatment of carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs-COOH) with Thiamine (Tm). Poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) based nanocomposites (NC)s were prepared by the incorporation of various amounts of modified MWCNTs (4, 8, and 12wt%) within the PVC matrix by blending solution and ultrasonic distribution methods. The morphological, chemical structure and thermal stability of the PVC/Tm-MWCNT NCs were identified via Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis. The obtained results of thermal behavior indicated the high thermal stability of PVC/Tm-MWCNT NCs in comparison with the pure PVC via presenting diverse quantities of Tm-MWCNTs. In addition, the mechanical behavior of the PVC/Tm-MWCNT NCs films was examined and the results exhibited that mechanical properties of fabricated NCs were improved.

Abstract
In this paper, carboxyl groups were introduced by liquid oxidation methods onto multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) to improve the MWCNTs' electrocatalytic properties. A platinum wire microelectrode (ME) was corroded using aqua regia and subsequently embedded with MWCNTs to achieve more active sites, producing a so-called powder microelectrode (PME). Compared with conventional MEs, the PME has a larger specific surface area and more active sites. When PME was used to detect ascorbic acid (AA), the AA oxidation potential shifted negatively and current peak was visibly increased. The calibration curve obtained for AA was in a range of 5.00 × 10-6~9.50 × 10-4 mol·L-1: Ipa(μA) = 3.259 × 10-2+ 1.801 × 10² C (mol·L-1) under the optimum testing conditions. Moreover, the detection and quantitation limits were confirmed at 4.89 × 10-7 mol·L-1 and 1.63 × 10-7 mol·L-1, respectively. When the fabricated PME was practically applied to detect AA, it was shown a recovery rate of 94~107% with relative standard deviation (RSD) <5%. The proposed strategy thus offers a promising, rapid, selective and low-cost approach to effective analysis of AA.

Abstract
A poly(aniline-co-m-ferrocenylaniline) was successfully synthesized on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) by electrochemical copolymerization using a scan potential range from −0.3 to +0.9 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) in 0.5 M H2SO4 containing 30% acetonitrile (ACN), 0.1 M aniline (Ani) and 0.005 M m-ferrocenyaniline (m-FcAni). The field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) and electrochemical methods were used to characterize the poly(Ani-co-m-FcAni) modified electrode. The poly(Ani-co-m-FcAni)/GCE exhibited excellent electrocatalytic oxidation of ascorbic acid (AA) in citrate buffer solution (CBS, pH 5.0). The anodic peak potential of AA was shifted from +0.55 V at the bare GCE to +0.25 V at the poly(Ani-co-m-FcAni)/GCE with higher current responses than those seen on the bare GCE. The scan number at the 10th cycle was selected as the maximum scan cycle in electrochemical polymerization. The limit of detection (LOD) was estimated to be 2.0 μM based on the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N = 3). The amperometric responses demonstrated an excellent selectivity for AA determination over glucose (Glu) and dopamine (DA).
