Abstract
Background: Recurrent pregnancy loss refers to the spontaneous demise of two or more pregnancies before the 24 weeks of gestation. In almost half of the cases of recurrent miscarriages, the causes remain unknown since there is no reliable way of prognosis, early diagnosis, or treatment. Recent research has detected differential expression of certain miRNAs in reproductive system pathologies. Methods: The aim of the present review is to focus on microRNAs and their relationship with idiopathic recurrent miscarriages and to correlate miRNA expression with recurrent miscarriage and examine their potential role as biomarkers. Pubmed/Medline and Scopus databases were searched up to 31st January 2024 with terms related to recurrent pregnancy loss and miRNAs. Results: In total, 21 studies were selected for the review. A total of 75 different miRNAs were identified, showing a statistically significant differential expression. Around 40 miRNAs had increased expression, such as miR-520, miR-184 and miR-100-5p, 21 decreased, such as let-7c, and 14 had either increased or decreased expression depending on the study, such as miR-21. Conclusions: The dysregulation of miRNA expression is strongly associated with recurrent miscarriages. The circulating in the peripheral blood miRNAs, miR-100-5p and let-7c, might be utilized as biomarkers and establish a valuable non-invasive prognostic and diagnostic tool in the future.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Accumulating studies have demonstrated that non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), functioning as important regulators of transcription and translation, are involved in the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy, especially the maternal immune adaptation process. The endometrial stromal cells (ESCs), trophoblast cells, and decidua immune cells that reside at the maternal-fetal interface are thought to play significant roles in normal pregnancy and pregnancy-associated diseases. Here, we reviewed the up-to-date evidence on how microRNA, long non-coding RNA, and circular RNA regulate ESCs, trophoblast cells, and immune cells and discussed the potential applications of these ncRNAs as diagnostic and therapeutic markers in pregnancy complications.

Abstract
This study explored the role of T cell subsets and the expression of related microRNAs in patients with recurrent early pregnancy loss (EPL). Fifty patients with EPL loss between May 2018 and May 2021 were randomly selected as the EPL group, and 50 pregnant women with normal pregnancies or normal delivery outcomes were randomly selected as the control group. The expression levels of T cell subset-related markers and T cell subset-related miRNAs, in addition to the frequencies of T cell subsets, in peripheral blood of the two groups were analyzed. In terms of T cell-related markers, the results showed that the expression levels of the transcriptional regulator TBX-21 (T-bet) and interferon regulatory factor 4 (IRF4) were significantly upregulated in peripheral blood of the patients in the EPL group (
), whereas the expression levels of GATA binding protein 3 (GATA3) and glucocorticoid-induced tumor necrosis factor receptor (GITR) were significantly downregulated (
). In the EPL group, the expression of mir-106b, mir-93, and mir-25 was upregulated (

, respectively) in regulatory T (Treg) cell-related T cell subsets, whereas the expression of miR-146a and miR-155 was downregulated (
). The frequencies of Treg and exhausted T cells in the EPL group were significantly lower than those in the control group (
). The cell frequencies of T helper 17 (Th17) cells and exhausted Treg cells in the EPL group were significantly higher than those in the control group (
). In conclusion, immune cells and associated miRNA profiles can be used as prognostic biomarkers for the treatment of human reproductive disorders, such as EPL.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To explore the effect of exposure to di (2-ethyl) hexyl phthalate (DEHP) in early pregnancy on endometrial decidualization in mice and its relation with lncRNA RP24-315D19.10. METHODS Early pregnancy mice were exposed to DEHP (1000 mg·kg－1·d－1) to construct the model. The uterus was collected on day 6 of pregnancy to detect its effect on decidualization by HE staining and immunofluorescence. A decidualization induction model of mouse endometrial stromal cells exposed to DEHP (0.1, 0.5, 2.5, 12.5, 62.5 μmol/L) was constructed. The changes of cell morphology were observed by light microscopy and phalloidin staining, and the expression of decidual reaction related molecular markers were detected by immunofluorescence, realtime RT-PCR and Western blotting. The expression of RP24-315D19.10 in decidua tissue and cells was detected by realtime RT-PCR. Cellular localization of RP24-315D19.10 was determined by lncLocator database and RNA FISH. AnnoLnc2 database was used to predict miRNAs bound to RP24-315D19.10. RESULTS The number of embryo implantation sites, uterine weight and uterine area were significantly lower in the DEHP exposed group than those in the control group, and the expression of the decidual reaction related molecular markers matrix metalloprotein 9 and homeobox A10 in the DEHP exposure group were also significantly lower than those in the control group (all P<0.05). With the increase of DEHP concentration, the expression of dtprp in decidua cells was gradually decreased. 2.5 μmol/L DEHP exposed stromal cells failed to be fully decidualized in vitro, andphalloidin staining showed abnormal cytoskeleton morphology. The expression levels of homeobox A10, bone morphogenetic protein 2 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen in the DEHP exposure group were significantly lower than those in the control group (all P<0.05). The expression of RP24-315D19.10 in DEHP exposed decidua tissue and cells was significantly reduced (both P<0.05). RP24-315D19.10 is mainly localized in the cytoplasm and RP24-315D19.10 might bind to 45 miRNAs, among them, miR-138-5p, miR-155-5p, miR-183-5p and miR-223-3p were associated with endometrial decidualization. CONCLUSIONS DEHP exposure in early pregnancy may impair endometrial decidualization, and the damage may be associated with the down-regulation of RP24-315D19.10.

Abstract
Micro-RNAs (miRNAs) are short non-coding single-stranded RNAs that modulate the expression of various target genes after transcription. The expression and distribution of kinds of miRNAs have been characterized in human placenta during different gestational stages. The identified miRNAs are recognized as key mediators in the regulation of placental development and in the maintenance of human pregnancy. Aberrant expression of miRNAs is associated with compromised pregnancies in humans, and dysregulation of those miRNAs contributes to the occurrence and development of related diseases during pregnancy, such as pre-eclampsia (PE), fetal growth restriction (FGR), gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), recurrent miscarriage, preterm birth (PTB) and small-for-gestational-age (SGA). Thus, having a better understanding of the expression and functions of miRNAs in human placenta during pregnancy and thereby developing novel drugs targeting the miRNAs could be a potentially promising method in the prevention and treatment of relevant diseases in future. Here, we summarize the current knowledge of the expression pattern and function regulation of miRNAs in human placental development and related diseases.

Abstract
Spontaneous abortion is a common pregnancy complication that negatively impacts women’s health and commercial pig production. It has been demonstrated that non-coding RNA (ncRNA) is involved in SA by affecting cell proliferation, invasion, apoptosis, epithelial-mesenchymal transformation (EMT), migration, and immune response. Over the last decade, research on ncRNAs in SA has primarily concentrated on micro RNAs (miRNAs), long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), and circular RNAs (circRNAs). In this review, we discuss recent ncRNA studies focused on the function and mechanism of miRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs in regulating SA. Meanwhile, we suggest that a ceRNA regulatory network exists in the onset and development of SA. A deeper understanding of this network will accelerate the process of the quest for potential RNA markers for SA diagnosis and treatment.
